This little place is easy to miss as it's in a strip mall fairly far off of the road. Some friends recommended it, so I took my mom there for lunch one day. We got there right at the time they open (11 am), and they were not finished setting up for the day and had us wait while they finished. We said it was no problem, but it was so long that it became frustrating. If you open at 11, that means open and ready for customers, not still setting up. Our waitress, however, was very nice and explained how the menu works. She brought us water, but it was terrible - by terrible, I mean country water with that weird metallic taste. Our waitress said she knew and that it was just how Gladstone water is - my husband agrees. Anyway, we ordered one of the boil bags with crab legs and shrimp. It came our pretty quickly and they did provide bibs and wet wipes and there were napkins on the table, so we could use as many as we wanted. Our waitress opened our bag for us and dumped it into the waiting tray. They have buckets on the table for all the shells and other trash. We did wear our bibs and said we would only have this meal with certain people because it is messy!! It was the crab legs that made it messy - if I went with someone else I would probably have shrimp (awesome) and sausage (didn't try, but I bet it's good). The shells of the crab legs were a bit soft, which our waitress asked us about. She said they have a new chef, so she was happy to provide some coaching. I am here working the World Cup & wanting a seafood boil for dinner. Could exactly get answers ordering on line so I drove over to place a to go order. They take my order then come back & say they have no shrimp....what?? How do you have no shrimp, anyways owner delivers shrimp, the waitress was so sweet & embarrassed not for herself but the whole idea no shrimp, she gives me a 10% discount, I appreciate that, order is ready & the waitress & owner are discussing if I paid or not, long story short because I only waited 25 minutes the owner was upset the waitress gave me a discount. I get to my hotel, to find yes I ordered no head shrimp but these were little & pre cooked....the absolute worst so called seafood boil I have ever experienced. The service was quick and nice. The server was really caring and helpful! The restaurant is in a nice area where there are multiple Vietnamese restaurants all in one plaza! The food is so much better than pier 88, I would say it actually has a good amount of seasoning and flavor to it! The sauce in general is really good! I got the yummi flavor which is all of above. We came here last year and it was so good we got snow crab and king crab and loved the king crab so we came back this year and we both got king crab and we're so disappointed! Not only was it more expensive but the quality was so low they were small shriveled up and chewy so upsetting! We came here because they have fried oyster on the menu. But decided to try their seafood boiled and chicken wings basket as well. The fried oyster did not disappoint. Fresh and well battered. Cajun fries were delicious. Perfect amount of seasoning. Definitely will come back for fried oysters and Cajun fries. The wing basket was a let down. The chicken was dried. And very small. They served sauces on the side. Not worth the money. Now, I have had seafood boiled at many places. I can tell you this place is my least favorite. We got the yummi seasoning, and it was salty. They served it in a tin pan so the sauce was on the bottom. Not enough room for us to mix up the seafood into the sauce. The seafood on top were just dried rub. I am used to other places putting in a bag. Because the sauce was on the bottom, we had to ask for extra butter garlic sauce to dip the seafood. They charged us extra $$ for the garlic sauce. Service was okay. We were the only table there. Had to wave down the server a few time to get our water refilled. The older lady didn't seem very friendly. I am glad I went to try it. Our first time dining here and it was very good, fresh and flavorful. Nice atmosphere very clean. Seated right away. Food came out timely and hot. i would suggest providing at least a sturdy fork without being asked. Everybody doesn't eat everything with their hands. Came here for dinner, for starters when I first sat down at my table. One of the servers came and sat someone else's bill on the table. I had to make her aware we were just seated and had not been there for 5mins. I found that to be rather strange, then the server who took my order wasn't paying attention, my son asked for extra corn and potatoes when our food came out it add to both our meals. We ordered combos A and B. I must say the seafood it's self was very fresh and good. Although I did not care to much for the sauce. We both got the yummi special sauce which is a combination of all sauces and seasonings. It taste like oil and salt. They have other items on the menu besides seafood for those who aren't a fan, as well as fried seafood options. The cocktails are priced very well, they are all under $10. I can't remember the name of my drink but it was SO good, it came in a big glass and it was only $7! It had coconut rum, melon liquor in it amongst some other things. You cannot go wrong with well seasoned seafood! It was slightly overcooked so kind of hard to get the crab out of the shell but besides that, flavors were on point and our server was very sweet. I really like the selection of seasonings and spice levels you can choose. read more

I'm in town for a few weeks on a work trip and decided to check this place out after seeing some decent reviews on Yelp. I'm a seafood lover, so I was genuinely looking forward to it. Walked in and saw a small bar with five seats, simple enough. The bartender was sitting at one end, the waitress was at the other, and two other women walked in at the same time I did .We all sat down at the bar, me right next to the bartender. Here's where it gets frustrating. The bartender stood up and got behind the bar, so clearly, she saw me. She proceeded to chat with the two women next to me, took their drink orders, walked away, came back, asked if they were ready to order food, walked away again, came back with their food... all while I'm still sitting there, menu-less, drink-less, and apparently invisible. Not even a "hello." No water. Not even eye contact. I sat there for a good 20-25 minutes before finally just getting up and walking out. There were maybe one or two tables in the place with families eating, so it wasn't exactly busy. I'm not sure what the vibe was supposed to be, but feeling like an unwanted guest wasn't on my seafood bucket list. Hopefully, others have better luck. I won't be back read more

Finally made it over to see what this Yummi Crab was all about! I can assure you that it is all about Yummi! Just look at that beautiful pie tin of food! But I must say that of all the reviews that I have read, I cannot remember anyone that has mentioned the sausage! So, tonight I will make mention that the sausage is every bit as good as the shrimp, the taters, and the corn (I haven't tried the lobster tails, crab, mussels, or crab legs, yet)! I did make a mistake when I ordered the mild spice level, next time I will bump it up to medium, and next time I go I will order the crawdads and sausage! There was enough food in that nice shiny, oversized pie tin to take half home and make a tasty lunch tomorrow! Well Done Yummi Crab! Well done indeed! My husband & I have come to this spot at least 3 x's in the last 6 months & the flavors are always consistent. $32 for a seafood boil is a steal. 1 1/2lb cluster, 1 potato, 1 egg, 2 corn, sausage & plenty of unpeeled shrimp (1/2lb). I had heard great things about the place so I thought we would give it a try. I order Buffalo fried shrimp and my husband ordered Cajun fried shrimp. They both came out without any seasoning at all. Its unfortunate that they lacked flavor because they did have a crispy texture. I liked the tempura batter on the onion rings but they tasted undercooked, and absolutely no salt. Unfortunately, there wasn't even salt on the table. We were really hoping to have a good place for shrimp in the Northland. Where to start.... Well, upon walking in, it smelled like weed. The three workers were all hotboxing in the parking lot when we pulled up. The environment was to be expected, trashy. The food, goodness. I have eaten many seafood boils in my day, and this did not hit. The butter was brown, the seasoning was gross, the crawfish were small, and all the food tasted like sand/dirt. We came here for dinner on a Monday evening. We loved it! I got the Seafood Combo A (crab legs, shrimp and sausage) and it was delicious. I like spicy so ordered the Cajun, Hot seasoning and it was right where I like it (think the Very Hot would be too much). My wife built her own boil with 1/2 shrimp/lobster tail and crab legs (garlic butter/mild) and she loved hers too. Ended with the molten cake for dessert which was good. I've seen prices on the East coast so peeps, if you are complaining price just do a tad research so your review is real. I judge this to be mid-level dining in the Midwest, without daily fresh exposure to fresh seafood, & primarily messy eating: so in order to fully enjoy your meal, wear old clothes, use the bibs and the gloves, carry a Tide pen for butter stains. But oh so worth it! I had crab, potato, and corn in garlic butter seasoned sauce-mild. Very lovely tastes. I recommend you add some sausage.I wish I had, (throw back to my Low Country Days) and fried shrimp- share with your company so you don't get too full, and swirl these options in your seasoning sauce! I absolutely DREAM of the fried shrimps in garlic butter season-sauce-mild. Music didn't jive; not at all ,and really bothered me though thus isn't usually a thing for me in a restaurant. If ambience is a thing for you it's impossible to get a set groove here-American or British Pop, sometimes AsianPOP; -creole food felt it needed to be more creole, like bluegrass or southern jazz or at least consistent. Music ambience was all over the place and weird. Bathrooms, very, very bad. Clean the light switch, fill the paper towels, wash the floors and ensure paper isn't left all over them. But if you didn't need a bathroom, definitely cool to go back, unless concern the bathroom cleaning extended to the kitchen cleaning... then ew, ow. Check health grades! Flavors only,rating- fab! First time at this restaurant, and I decided to order online and pick up to bring home. The ordering online feature is very easy to use and as soon as you click the type of food you want it walks you through how spicy you'd like it, what type of sauce you would like and any substitutions. It was really very easy. When I arrived at the place, there is plenty of parking as it is located in an old strip mall that is now mostly restaurants. I walked in and was immediately greeted. The food was ready and packaged very nicely. I was a little worried about picking up this type of food as it is a boil and comes with a lot of Sauce. It also came with a bib and a wet wipe and some plastic gloves. Be sure you wear the bib. You'll be glad you protected your clothes. I also had extra napkins on hand. I ordered the shrimp (no heads) with medium spice and it seemed more on the mild side. It did have a lot of good flavor though. The potatoes were cooked just right. There was one hard boiled egg that was a little overdone but still good. I ordered the pound of shrimp and I will say that it was too much food. I was afraid a half pound would be too little, but if you have a medium appetite and not looking for leftovers, then go with the half pound. Everything is priced just right as well. read more

You know a restaurant is good when you start thinking about what you're going to order next time you visit. Saw the Yummy Crab on Facebook and decided to give it a try. When you walk in the first thing you notice is how clean it is, you are greeted at the door by someone that obviously enjoys their job, when looking at the menu, it's well organized and easy to figure out. The server was friendly and knowledgeable and answered any questions we had.
