The shrimp Poe boy was loaded with shrimp and the sweet potato fries were an excellent accompaniment.

Loved Zydeco... I was promptly greeted by a beautiful and friendly young lady "Amanda" she seated me and requested my drink order. Half a minute later Amanda returned with my drink (perfect Arnold Palmer) and a menu. She then gave me a few minutes to review the menu. Upon returning she asked if I had any question and inquired if I was ready to choose. Amanda was very knowledgeable polite and made thoughtful recommendations. Because this was my first visit I tried several different items to get the full experience. I started with a half pound Boudin Link, it was sensational. I was incredibly impressed that the Boudin was so delicious being so far away from Louisiana or Texas. I also ordered a half serving of red beans and rice with sausage, a half serving of jambalaya and a half shrimp Po boy. The Boudin came out first it was Cooked to perfection, exceptionally well flavored and served with a wonderful spicy remoulade. All of the dishes were very thoughtfully prepared, wonderful flavored, just the right amount of cajun flavors. The portions were huge even as half servings it was much more than I could eat. The cost was very reasonable and well worth it. While the meal was excellent, Amanda's attentiveness and genuine concern for customer satisfaction made it a perfect dining experience. I look forward to going there again and again.

I expected better soul food from Missouri of all places. I thought we were close enough to the south. I ordered mild because I expected a soul food restaurant to really pack the heat in there, but there was ZERO flavor. I had to add half the bottle of hot sauce to my food. Once I did that it was pretty good, I guess just keep that in mind for later.

Zydeco's Fried Pickles! They use a bread & butter spicy pickle which gives them a unique kick.

We saw Zydeco's and noticed it was a local hometown restaurant. We went for lunch and had a good time. We tried their fried pickles (definitely handmade) and the Zydeco Meatloaf ,which my wife and I split, and got a side of hush puppies! Everything was hand made as they promote! Hot and fresh. Will have to try their etouffe next time!

Wanted to try something different for date night and still wanted to support small business. When you walk in you can choose the bar area or restaurant. Great idea splitting the two up. Keeps the ambiance separate. There really isn't too much ambiance to speak of, some Mardi Gras masks on the walls, a painting or two and purple and green walls. Maybe jazz it up a bit more?? I digress, we were seated fairly quick and drinks were out fast. There was only one maybe two servers on but the place isn't that big. The server we had was very knowledgeable about the menu. The food took a little while to come out but that could of been from cooking it fresh. We had the popcorn shrimp as an appetizer, which was decent. I mean it's popcorn shrimp. Lol I had the Zydeco's Pasta and my Wife had the 1/2 Jambalaya, extra spicy. The pasta was amazing, the andouille sausage was used for both dishes. They spare no expense. They both tasted great and perfect spice! The service just takes that one star. No refills the whole time. Please try this place, very good food and great staff.

Excellent food and a delicious change from the standard menu. Fresh Cajun food made to your choice of spice / heat level. Grits, gumbo, Etouffee, Jambalaya, Po Boy sandwiches, Catfish, anything you want. Very friendly service and great prices.

Truly disappointing meal. We had high hopes but they were soon dashed. The service was the best part of this meal.

Service was good and the waitress gave good recommendations. Food was very good, didn't expect to find cajun food in Missouri!

I thought this place was great. Better than the cajun places in KC. Had the alligator tail and combo etouffee. Both were really good.

The server started out the meal by saying "Your life is going to be changed by the end of this…read moremeal." And she was right. There are 4 tables in this restaurant. They don't even have a real sign, just a humble chalk board leaning up against the building. Reservations open a couple of months in advance, and they will fill up. I managed to secure a reservation ($25 deposit/person) on my girlfriend's birthday luckily! The menu changes seasonally. Many of the ingredients are sourced locally at peak freshness. Cheese from the creameries down the street. Beef from local farmers. Apples from the server's grandpa's farm. You watch the chef preparing everything in the open kitchen. We opted for the $90/person prix fixe menu, and it's the right choice. You can try so much of the menu. Everything was delicious. I think I finally understand what the judges on Top Chef mean when they say a dish is perfectly balanced. Even the whipped cream on the sticky toffee pudding changed my life. You will leave stuffed and happy - with your life changed. KC folks - I promise it's worth the drive out to Weston. Make it a day trip. Shop around, visiting a winery, tour Green Dirt Farms, end your day with the best meal of your life. Please leave mega early for your reservation time to find parking though. Downtown Weston will get parked up at night. Don't be late for your reservation time (but don't show up too early either). Remember, there are literally 4 tables. They can't seat you until the party before you leaves.

I went in for their pierogi's, and they didn't disappoint. Flavorful, filling, the dumpling was grest. I got a half dozen and cooked them up myself, a little boiling, then fried in butter, but they will cook them for you. They sell specialty sauces, flours, spices too. Such a cute shop make sure to stop in next time you are in Weston.

Best fried chicken in the city. Sometimes tough ti get a reservation but definitely worth it…read more The cocktails were delicious and again would highly recommend the fried chicken for first time visitors. The vibes are just what you expect from a southern cookout spot, absolutely amazing!

I am still genuinely befuddled at this Friday night dinner experience…read more I came in for a celebratory Hurricane since I'd heard these were great (and we loved their cocktails the last time) and a bite. The place was pretty empty which was unusual; the last time we came in I think was in December and it was slammed! It turns out they aren't serving alcohol right now (apparently an ownership change? I didn't get the full scoop) so that was the first let-down. So fine - I'll just have a bowl of the gumbo. For $29?! And some biscuits. The gumbo comes out in a cracked bowl with a cracked plate underneath and the 3 little crawfish on top are refrigerator cold. Granted, the actual gumbo was pretty solid with the right amount of heft and spice and depth, but even then the rice had some hard pieces in it like it was old. The biscuits aren't anything to write home about and the butter is just meh. I wouldn't spend my carbs there. On top of all that, the waitress literally couldn't be bothered that I existed. I had to pry to get a drink menu (which is when I found out they weren't serving any), I couldn't get any eye contact from her or any kind of friendliness, she asked me if I wanted them to "heat it up" when I told her about the crawfish, and then brought my bill when I hadn't even finished dinner without bothering to ask if I wanted any dessert. And on top of that, there was no mention at all about the dinner issues or any apology whatsoever. I don't need or want a meal comped but for over $40 for a bowl of gumbo and some biscuits (+ tax, tip, etc) I at least expect some acknowledgement or "hey, here's something nice we can do for you". We really enjoyed the last time we were here and this was a genuinely jarring experience compared to that. The place looks pretty rough right now - maybe this is one of those places that has the right vibe in the dark, but nothing felt right about it today, and I'm afraid I can't (won't) recommend it again.
