I have been going to this place ever since I was a teenager. The BBQ mix is there if you want to get full full. The seafood combo has such a good fried fish with tartar sauce. The house fried rice with shrimp is to die for and their spam fried rice is a nice snack if you don't want to go that route. Their hidden gems are the beef curry and loco moco plates. Even though they stopped doing their daily specials and Mongolian bbq all together this place is still worth it. I chose to get the side order of Spam Musubi, side order of steamed vegetables, and an order of the chicken katsu with curry sauce. What I got was essentially 2 meals in 1, possibly 3, depending on how much you eat. Steamed vegetables were great, still hot when I got back to my lodge 40 minutes later. I was expecting 1 spam musubi of moderate size but I ended up with 2 large ones, also still very hot. The chicken katsu seemed like it had 3 pounds of chicken included. Massive portions. Additionally with the chicken katsu dish I received the 2 servings of steamed rice and a macaroni salad. It was all great food and left me with a full meal of half of the katsu with curry, a spam musubi, and one serving of the rice. All of this only totaled to just under 22 dollars when easily, in other areas, would be 30 or more. Great deal for great food and I will definitely return. read more

Omg. The. Chicken. Is. Amazing!!! I wanted to try something new since I'm sick of going to the same few places all the time. This place had great online reviews so I checked it out. I was not disappointed! I got the fish and chicken combo plate which comes with fried shrimp, fried whitefish, and bbq chicken. I really don't like fish or shrimp but I wanted to try something new. I actually really enjoyed them both. (Which was a surprise!) But the chicken was spectacular. Perfectly cooked with all the right flavors. Nice and juicy too. It's probably the best bbq chicken I've ever had. The portion sizes are crazy big so bring your appetite. I am a big eater and barely made it halfway through the combo. The combo also comes with their steamed rice and macaroni salad. The macaroni salad was really damn good. I can see why the place was busy, it's amazing. I can't wait to try more of their menu in the future. The staff is also very friendly. I will definitely be back soon! My one complaint is the cleanliness of the front dining area. The walls and decorations are really dusty and the floors were kind of dirty. I'd say that the front area needs a good cleaning. But this wouldn't stop me from dining here in the future. read more

Went here to do a little din din, while not in the most stellar part of town, it was good food. They offer what appears to be three types: Mongolian, Hawaiian, and Japanese Katsudong. The Katsu looked super good and I took a pic of it, well the ad, but looked good regardless. The Hawaiian I've had before and its good. The Mongolian is what I went for this time around, while at first it doesn't look the most amazing and almost appears as a makeshift Mongolian, it was actually surprisingly good. So from a food side of the house, the place is on point. The actual restaurant appeared to be kept in pretty good condition and the customer service was also a good. The only other which they really can't control unless they moved is the location. Lots of parking but don't bring your Lamborghini or Ferrari you're going out. Also anticipate seeing what can appear to a little bit of a rougher crowd. But they were all nice and didn't have any issues, just a heads up. Yummy Hawai'ian has plenty of seating and is actually pretty popular during multiple hours of the day. FOOD: As large as the menu is, I've only tried the Hawai'ian BBQ Mix, the Katsu Chicken, Chicken Combo, Teriyaki Beef Bowl, House Fried Rice. The protein are always tender (yes, even the Kalbi) and well-cooked, the marinade is on point, and the mac salad is addicting. As others mentioned, yes--the rice is cooked well, too; this includes orders of fried rice. I'm not a fan of the teriyaki given on the side for t since the food is already tasty without it. There's plenty of seating and the staff here are friendly. I've been to some of Yummy Hawai'ian's competitors, and although they're good, I still prefer this place. The portions are larger than others, the quality of meat is consistently good, and the flavor of the meats are on point. This appears to be the only location, so it's definitely a great option for lunch or dinner if you're in Oxnard. read more

Our family decided to try this local restaurant upon the recommendation of a coworker. We tried the Hawaiian BBQ Mix (beef, chicken, and Kalbi short ribs) because it looked to provide a sample of a number of menu items. Although they provide a generous portion size, the food was just decent. None of the items had a great amount of flavor that wowed any of us. I will give a thumbs up to the excellent customer service I received during this visit. So, this three star rating doesn't really have to do with the food. The food was great. Everything was fresh and yummy and the portions were huge! I know this area isn't the greatest but man, this place was pretty dumpy. Upon walking in, there was styrofoam all over the floor flying around in the breeze. Giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming this JUST happened right before we walked in and they just haven't had a chance to pick it up yet. Still just not a great impression. The bathrooms were totally vandalized and it didn't look "intentional". The bathrooms had no toilet paper or paper towels when I used it. So that was fun. The service was OK. I didn't take any pictures of the bathrooms or vandalized tables cause I just didn't feel like waking around examining the place lol but I feel next time I should take the time. So overall not a great atmosphere whatsoever. Very dingy. BUT I will review the food now which will have a different light. Chicken Katsu- It was hot and fresh and fried fresh. Big portion, enough to share in my opinion. The combo comes with two large scoops of rice and a traditional macaroni salad, which was great! Meat combo- bbq chicken, bbq pork and kalbi (bbq ribs) the chicken was soooo yummy. Everything was really. No complaints whatsoever. So I mean, it's your call really. When I came in I asked for a mini meal. They told me there was no mini meal available when it was clearly advertised. We bought two meals for $28 and ordered the regular and not the mini (it wasn't available) On the menu it says meals come with a drink and extra rice. We paid $28 for two meals and the woman at the counter said we did not get a soda. ??? I BOUGHT THE MEAL THAT WAS ADVERTISED with a drink! You told me I couldn't get the mini and that I had to get the meal! There were no napkins anywhere in the store, the soda machine dispensed flat soda, etc. too many problems here. read more

So good! I've been here a few times now and each time it is fresh and delicious. I get the fried fish combo. You can substitute the macaroni salad for veggies which is nice. They have bowls and combos and horchata! The fish is crispy and white. They give you about 6 pieces! The rice is moist. The beef is thin and always loaded up. The chicken is thick and nicely sliced. They offer two sauces teriyaki and some sweet bbq like sauce (not a fan). They have a mini size which I will probably get next time because it is so much food. read more

I know they have happy hour for bowls which is $4. My friend ordered the bowl & it's a good size with equal portions of meat & rice. I ordered the chicken combo plate- $10 to go. Chicken combo included, 2 scoops of rice, 1 scoop macaroni, chicken katsu & teriyaki chicken. Now, the macaroni seemed more than a scoop because it took half the plate! It wasn't as flavorful as I thought but I liked it. It was also a runny consistency, like a creamy alfredo. I loved the chickens though! It's packed in there! Teriyaki chicken was yummy. Easy to pull apart & good flavor. Chicken katsu is always a go to of mine. Good crunch & not overly oily. I appreciated every bite! Now, since there's so much food in this combo plate, you can split with someone or save half for later. I promise you, it's that much! The Hawaiian plate combos are like over a pound of food and perfect for keeping that big Hawaiian belly in round shape. If you're trying to gain weight come eat here. You can seriously share one order between two adults. Two massive scoops of white rice and a big scoop of mac salad come with each plate. The chicken katsu is pretty good and so is the BBQ chicken. Katsu sauce should be thicker but not a big deal. Mac salad is really simple but tastes good. Kalbi short ribs were surprisingly tender and had good flavor. The guy at the counter was helpful and explained the two options for ordering: choose from the menu combos or make your own bowl at the Mongolian station. Mongolian BBQ meat choices were pork, white or dark meat chicken, and beef. I would start with the meat before the noodles and veggies if you want to have room for them in the bowl. Mongolian sauces were good too. Dining room is long and tables are spaced comfortably away from each other. The counter is at the opposite end of the entrance. In other words one time and one time only is good enough for me. First, the place is a knock off of L&L. Secondly, the food was more expensive and my wait time was pretty long considered there was about a total of 3 people waiting. Next, it was weird how they have a Mongolian setup which they left unattended and dirty. Lastly, when I brought the food home it was pretty dry and bland. I didn't even finish the food. Overall, I should of just gone to the real thing. I wouldn't not recommend this place at all but that's only me. Sorry to the people that get offended but that's my experience.
