I was really excited to try this place based on the positive reviews about the ramen but unfortunately, the ramen wasn't good. I had the Yummy chicken & pork ramen which was anything but yummy. The broth was bland, no salt and lacked the rich, layered flavor I expect -- it tasted more like dirty water than a slow-simmered broth. The noodles were the basic refrigerated noodles you'd find in a grocery premade ramen dinner at any Asian market. The toppings lacked flavor: the egg was still cold and the pork was dry rather than tender with the added chicken being very bland with a weird crust that obviously didn't belong in a ramen. It's finals week! I had week eight assignments plus the need to study for my final, needed comfort food to help me over the bleh. Delicious flavorful broth. Both our bowls were delicious. I wish the eggs were a little more jammy, but that is just a personal preference. I usually get take-out, but eating "at" the restaurant was a little confusing! As soon as we walked in, the lady asked us to sit at a table. She didn't bring us menus or anything for awhile, so we asked her if we can have menus. She gave us paper menus and sat back down. When we waved our hand at the table to let her know we are ready to order, she said we are supposed to order at the counter (where she was sitting). After that, I realized this was a regular Chinese take-out place...just with more seats and tables if you want to eat-in. I didn't mind that part, but why ask us to sit as soon as we walked in? Very confusing! The service overall was awful. On my previous review, I cut them some slack because they were busy and did not have enough employees. However, even if they are slow and we were the only customers there, they still didn't take care for their customers. Another thing we realized is...the worker had no idea what was on their own menu when we were asking her questions about the items that are not on the board. No attentiveness! We tried Yummy House for the 1st time last night. We went there based on several good reviews. We ordered at the restaurant. My husband ordered the Szechuan Shrimp and I ordered the Yummy Chicken Ramen and added Shrimp Dumplings. (This was based on another good review and I wanted to try something new . I usually get Sweet and Sour something) We also got an order of Crab Rangoon. Based on the reviews they said a 15 minute wait. We waited over 45 minutes. People who came in after of us got their orders ahead of us. When we got home with our order, it was not right. It appeared mine was sweet and sour chicken. There was no Ramen, no Shrimp Dumplings. My husband said his did not taste right. He threw it out. In looking at the menu he apparently got Shrimp and Broccoli and not what he ordered either. The total cost of that was over $35. He kept his head down, I guess looking at his phone. We approached the counter and were given menus. We went back up to give our order. When the soup came out, he gave us a spoon and said we could walk up there and get the rest of the silverware. Ok...just so we know how it works. There was no service so the food is where the points come from. They seem to have different types of food. I had General Tso's chicken. Soup comes with it but only Miso. It just didn't go with it.
