Let me start off by saying I was super excited to eat pho on a cold cloudy day. Especially being pregnant that seemed to really be the dish I was craving. I chose this place due to their 4 star review ratings. I placed an order for three orders of phos all of which I asked to be cooked well due to being pregnant. Upon picking them up they said the pho beef was rare after which I nicely asked that the beef I requested was better cooked since I am expecting and it is important for me. One of the orders of pho was with tendon only so I asked to sit down to eat that one while the other ones were getting cooked. It was going so well and the flavor was pleasant until half way into my bowl of soup I discovered a whole bunch of BLACK SHORT HAIR (refer to the photos and videos I included) all of different thickness, length and texture. Upon approaching a staff member with the plate he told me it was tendon hair with no further commentary. Regardless of what it was, I left the takeouts even though I paid for it and tipped 20% and just left. I don't believe in having hair in your soup and I also don't believe in this kind of business practices and customer service. BEWARE OF IT. I will be looking for a health department phone number in the meantime. read more

Ratings wise, Yummy Pho is more of a 3.5 Stars. Their prices are a hair high, equal to higher by $1 than the most notable pho shop in the entire Seattle area - Pho Bac Sup Shop. Their food is pretty good, but not at more than PBSS good. I decided to round down. Their menu is fairly standard fare for a suburban pho place, covering all the usual suspects of pho, bun (vermicelli), a few rice dishes, appetizers, etc. Nothing particularly stands-out menu wise. It's one of those reliable warm meals on a cold, wet, windy night. So, it hits the spot. The restaurant is utilitarian and looks clean with minimal deco. Prices have gone up a lot, a lot with inflation. The Food: Egg Rolls (3), $8 - 3.5 Stars These have pork and veggies. They're pretty decent size and well-seasoned. The dipping sauce is uninspiring, though. Medium Rare Beef and Soft Tendon Pho (L), $15.00 - 3.5 Stars The beef is tender, ditto for the tendon. It's pretty good overall. The broth is on the sweet side, vs. savory. Seafood Pho (L), $16.00 - 3.5 Stars The quality of the prawns is pretty good. They use white prawns, as it should be. There are also squid pieces and fish balls. The quality is also pretty good overall. The broth is the same, on the sweet side, vs. savory. It's a pretty good neighborhood pho restaurant. I probably won't return because I know of lower cost ones. If I want quality, I'd rather go to PBSS and pay similar cost. Side note: We were impressed watching the lady double-arm two large pho in ceramic bowls, one in each hand, carrying them from kitchen to table. It reminded me of the ladies at Oktoberfest, Munich carrying multiple giant beers. She probably has some impressive Popeye arms. read more

Second time visit to yummy pho to try more of their menu items This time around I got their house yummy pho, which includes all their meat options with the addition of tripe. Meats were all delicious, noodles were cooked perfectly, the only thing keeping me from giving them a 5 star review is that I wish their broth was richer/darker with deeper meat flavor. Such great service and quick too! Got to sit down and eat dinner here last night and there was some noteworthy items. Surprisingly my favorite dish of the night were the chicken wings. Sweet and garlicky, yum. My veggie pho was loaded but the broth lacked a bit of specific flavor. It was better with add on condiments. I think of they added the fried garlic they put in the wings it would be tremendous. The short rib pho was also very tasty. What stole the night was trying their taiyaki. The pho is okay. It's nothing spectacular, but it's decent. The Vietnamese coffee was not my favorite, I wouldn't get it again. The thai tea was decent, I would order it again. Their Thai iced tea and Vietnamese iced coffee are really "right". It's the only place I can get around here where it is made the way I think is correct / tastes right. Also their chicken bahn mi is good - their pho is very popular. I always order the same thing so I can't comment on the rest of their menu but they do have other things. My partner and I both each ordered a small pho with brisket and flank. The phos didn't take long at all to get, with the fixin's, like basil leaves, sprouts, jalapenos and lime wedges. The broth was fragrant and comforting, but the flank was king. I loved that it was more rare than cooked, which was melt-in-your-mouth good! I was pleasantly surprised. Though the brisket was good, I would only just get the flank next time, to get more of it! Superb. Seriously! Noods were solid. Usually the food is great. I had an issue with my take out chicken pho where i received a different broth. In 15 years I've never been asked what broth i just assumed chicken for chicken. Apparently they use beef broth. I called cause the broth was more like hot water and clear. The kid that answered wasn't very helpful and said next time order it different. I think I was initially surprised by the price of a sandy, but after seeing the amount of food that they gave you, I think that the price point is fair, and the food was good. I think what they do well is have very friendly staff, a very clean and nice atmosphere restaurant, and have Great parking available. I have not tried enough food here to tell you if everything is delicious but it appears that they are busy and people come in and out all day during the week. This was disappointing. We visited on a Friday at dinner time. It was fairly busy, majority of tables were occupied and it smelled good. I was optimistic. We sat down and it took quite a while for them to take our order. They were clearly understaffed. We got a pho tai, veggie pho, and fried tofu appetizer. The appetizer was brought out fairly promptly but we had been there for almost 40mins before the pho was brought out. Probably the longest I've ever waited for pho. The broth in the pho tai was disappointing. Tofu was fresh in both the fried tofu and veggie pho which was good. They gave a good amount of beef in the pho tai. Plenty of parking in adjacent lot. As a big fan of Pho, I'm always on the lookout to trying the options on Eastside for this particular warm and comforting bowl of noodle soup! Yummy Pho popped up as an option in the area with decent reviews, and we decided to swing by on a Wednesday around 7:30pm and give this place a try! I got the House Yummy Pho since it looked like the best option to try all the cuts of meat that this location has to offer! When our bowls of noodles came out, I was a bit surprised and disappointed with the size of the bowls. So my girlfriend ordered a small Vegetarian pho, and I got the large - they were the exact same in terms of size! To me, it felt like "why even include this option for a dollar more if they are the same size?", but this is just something to keep in mind if you decide to check out Yummy Pho. In terms of broth, it had good flavor - beefy, warm, and has decent aromatic spice flavor. The cuts of meat were tender, meatballs were firm, noodles were chewy and soaked the broth nicely - just kind of wished there was bit more of everything. Another little detail that was a bit cumbersome was that usually other Pho restaurants have a little sauce dish for you to put Sriracha and Hoisin sauce, but this location didn't have that at all - it's just a nitpick but just something I noticed. In the end, it was mostly an alright bowl of noodles - I personally thought for $15 you could get a much larger and tastier bowl of pho at other Vietnamese establishments.
