Very good Thai food on State Street. I had the Tom Yum Seafood, and my wife had the Tom Kha Goong. Both were delicious, and full of fresh seafood and vegetables. I got my dish spicy level 3, which packed a pretty good punch. My wife got hers 2, which still had some bite. Our server (owner?) was very sweet, and our food arrived fairly quickly considering it is prepared when ordered. We were the only people dining in, but they seemed to be doing a brisk carry-out business. Our only real complaint was the buzzer on the front door got rather annoying as people came and went for carry-out. It was much louder than need be. Wow, what a hidden gem! My friends and I decided to give this place a try and we were not disappointed. The inside is quaint, but clean. My friend tried the Thai-iced tea which was incredible and I tried the Thai-iced coffee. If you're a coffee lover or just really tired this is a must have. Our meals came with a complimentary clear soup that was garnished with cilantro and had a nice flavor. I ordered the pad Thai at medium heat and it was incredible. Just the right amount of spice without taking away any of the flavor. My fiancé got the chefs special which was cooked perfectly. Our friends also loved their meals and everyone left satisfied. We bought coupons for yummy Thai on Groupon and they will not except them! They are 15 dollars off when you spend 30 or more. They are legitimate coupons that a restaurant would have to sign up to do. They treated us very disrespectfully, and tried to make us believe we needed to call Groupon and it was our problem. Best Thai food in Fort Wayne (Spice & Herb is a not-too-distant second) and its being close to work is a big bonus. My wife loves the money bags app, tofu pad woon sen, and the green curry tofu with eggplant. I love the chicken satay app, chicken pad see ew, and chicken pad woon sen. I found out about this establishment through Restaurant.com and thought I would give it a try. I purchased a gift card for $15 off a $30 purchase. It was an hour away and I invited others to join me. Yet once we got there I was told that they don't except those gift cards anymore. My reply: "But you sold it to me. Why was I able to purchase a gift card if you wouldn't accept it." His reply: 'We are trying to take our name off of that site." Me: "Well maybe you are trying, but you still sold me a gift card that you won't accept?' Having already driven an hour, we stayed to eat. The pad thai was good yet the orange chicken was way overcooked. Would we go back? Absolutely not. I really do not understand why this restaurant is rated so highly. When we walked in, it took several minutes for someone to come out of the back and seat us. After that, it took at least another five minutes to come back with menus. Our waiter got us our drinks pretty quickly, but took forever to come take our orders. After he did finally take our orders, he didnt refill our empty water glasses. It then took more than 45 minutes to get our appetizer, and more than an hour to get our entrees. When they did come, my seafood tom yum soup did not have the scallops in it that it was supposed to. It was also way spicier than the two I ordered it at, making it far too spicy to eat. When I told our waiter that it was missing the scallops, he told me it didn't come with scallops, even though it clearly says it does on the menu, and argued with me about the spice. I asked him to take it off the ticket, which he did without further argument. The entire reason I ordered the soup was for the scallops. Don't tell me there aren't scallops in it if it says there are on your menu. read more

Having lived and worked in Asia for 17 years and having spent months in Thailand, most Asian restaurants in the US disappoint me. I am delighted to say that Yummy is an outstanding exception. The restaurant itself is small (maybe 30 seats)) and basic. The menu largely sticks to variations on three Thai standard dishes: fried noodles; curries and soups with a great range of variations on them. We had two noodle dishes: Pad Kee Mao and Pad Woon Sen. The restaurant offers their dishes with four levels of spice - mild to 'Thai spicy' We had the Pad Kee Mao 'Thai spicy' and the Pad Woon mild. Both were brilliant - full of bright, well blended and we'll balanced Thai flavors. We only moved to Fort Wayne ten months ago and have found a number of places we like. But Yummy is now top of the pack. It has been a few hours since our lunch at Yummy Thai and I am still uplifted by excellence of the food. I sometimes get lunch here. The quality varies depending on the dish. I thought the pad Thai and rice dishes were fine, but the pad see yew was terrible. This restaurant is nowhere as tasty as the Thai that I have had in other cities, but it is better than some of the other Thai restaurants in town which I find bland and watered down. This stretch of East State Boulevard is becoming one of the most interesting places to eat in the city. A few doors down from the city's only Egyptian restaurant is the new Yummy Thai Restaurant. It's not fancy, but has a clean diner feel. The staff are extra friendly, even for those who have no idea what Thai food may be. I ordered the Pad Thai with beef and thoroughly enjoyed it with Two Stars of heat. (I think I could have handled Three Stars, but I wanted to be careful the first time!) Got the Pad Khing (ginger) chicken and money bags (appetizer) for carry-out. Food came pretty quickly. Second time I've had carry-out, and the portions are a little under-sized (or maybe they should use a smaller container so the serving doesn't look so small). The flavor is fantastic. We travel the country full-time and whenever we settle in a city for a few days we seek out Thai food. Though we use Yelp to make our decisions, we have never written a review, but feel it necessary on this place so others can share in the awesomeness. Yummy Thai is not on google maps, and only has few reviews on Yelp so we were skeptical. But feeling adventurous, we tried it. Let's just say Yelp didn't lead us astray on this one. We have been back 4 times, driving round trip 2 hours just to go. Each time we have been there, we've ordered something different and every time the flavors were unique and fantastic. It's located in a strip mall next to some less than appealing businesses, and once you get in, the ambience is even less charming. But... BUT ... Don't let that keep you away. The food, service, and prices will knock your socks off. The flavors are complex, and each dish has a unique combination of ingredients. You'll hear sounds of chopping and sizzling as your food is being prepared and it shows in how fresh the vegetables are. The sauce is crisp, not greasy. They will make substitutions for you (got the chicken coconut soup minus chicken add shrimp). The salad rolls are incredible- we still aren't sure how they packed that many veggies in the roll, and is served with a peanut sauce that is more peanut than sauce. Delicious! We've tried crab Rangoon (average), spring rolls (not as fried as other places- had a light crisp to it), pad Thai, garlic lovers, some pineapple shrimp dish ordered by mistake but turned out to be the best mistake ever!, fried rice (amazing!), green yellow and red curry dishes (all consistent in that they are light and refreshing tasting). And did we mention that coconut soup- oh man! Seriously the food is THAT good. We have had the same server each time- she is attentive, helpful with food questions, and friendly. They have 4 levels of spicy. We tried all 4. 1 and 2 don't taste much different and would call it mild. 3 was hot. And 4 was almost died. That's right, there is no medium. You fall off a spicy cliff from 2 to 3. But we found out they will make you a 2.5 which we recommend to start. The interesting and amazing thing about this place is that the flavor is still present even with increased spice level. Usually you'll lose flavor for heat. This place is awesome and we will continue to go out of our way to get it. Including a shot of the to go menu but they have picture menus in the restaurant. some photos of the food as well. This place is just as the name says...YUMMY. We've hunted throughout Ft. Wayne to find Thai food like we've had at a favorite Thai place in Fl. We finally found this small restaurant. They have the Sweet and Sour dish my husband loves, and I've had both the Green Curry and also the Red Curry. Just delicious.
