Ordering was quite easy, you order on a kiosk and they will call your number when it's ready. And you would pick it up and choose your spot to sit if you're dining in. I went around maybe 3 pm on a weekday and it looks like some of their more popular items were already sold out. I got the beef noodle soup with a black milk tea with boba. The beef noodle soup was hearty and flavorful, I loved that the beef was tender, and there was quite a bit of it. This definitely hit the spot during the cold weather. The black milk tea was a bit too sweet for me, I wish I adjusted the sugar levels but the boba was soft and chewy which I enjoyed.

A fast Taiwanese food joint with pretty limited seating. Two top outside, 5 window stools and a table with seating for 8 (communal). There is an area with a counter where you could stand and eat too. Maybe room for about 6-8. I think the focus here is take out or delivery orders. You order via tablet and they call your name. From order to receiving your food takes about 7-8 minutes so it's pretty fast. Service is nice and they are appreciative of their customers. We downed some assorted dumplings, fried chicken, edamame, a bowl of soup and some braised pork rice. This place really hit the spot for a quick good meal.

Picked up a chicken cutlet bento here and it was quite good. The chicken was tender and not super oily. The rice with the meat sauce was flavorful and delicious. Price is reasonable and portion size is big. Will definitely return to try their other offerings.

Welcome Yumpling to Midtown Manhattan! Today is the soft opening of Yumpling in Midtown Manhattan. This is their second store. First store is located in LIC. Yumpling created an eventbrite event to manage the audience since today is literally their 1st day of their soft opening. I was expecting it to be a little crazy though it was nicely managed. Employees were been trained while we were putting in our lunch order. I was craving their beef noodles even though their lu rou and dumplings were a must have. I put my order in the kiosks (there are 3), the cashier wasn't open today. I waited about 10 minutes for my order to be ready. There are a few kinks (timing between back of the house and when the order is ready) though I'm sure it will get worked out. There was a slight confusion when a name was called and 2 customers answered (though 1 customer jumped the food line unintentionally). The packaging is great... there is a separator from the soup and the dry ingredients so the noodles don't get water logged. Food is great and satisfying as the LIC location. Wondering if they have a screen so customers can check to see if the order is ready. So happy, Yumpling opened a location in Manhattan! Good Luck and Best Wishes! Can't wait to come back to try the other dishes.

Best new fast casual option in Midtown at the second location of the Taiwanese spot with so many delicious menu items. Obviously get dumplings, but the Lu Rou Fan is also amazing and the Fried Chicken Sandwich is one of the best in town, Currently only open for lunch during the week, so take advantage if you have to work in Midtown.

Super quick, friendly service with delicious food! One of the co-founders, Jeff, was behind the counter and had the best personality. We ordered the zhajiangmian, small order of Yumplings, and chicken Dan bing. The crispy chicken bian dang was phenomenal with the lu rou fan. I wish they gave slightly bigger portions of the sides. The pork and chive dumplings were bursting with flavor (highly highly recommend) but the chicken dumplings were lacking in flavor and texture. They also have canned drinks from Taiwan I'd recommend! The inside was well lit and spacious. Yumpling is a wonderful place for lunch!

Came here for lunch on a Thursday. It was packed, but wait overall wasn't too bad as they are extremely efficient. Got the pork chop over rice. A bit on salty side, but still very tasty.

I finally made it to Yumpling Midtown!!! The new restaurant looks totally fantastic, beautifully and simply decorated and spacious! Chris has a small picture of their Red Yumpling food truck by the register, paying homage to their humble and amazing beginnings!! I plan to give them more photos I took of them when they were located at 1221 Ave of the Americas with their lunch line down the block!!!! The food is delicious as always! I tried the new 3 Cup Chicken, and it was yummy!! And my favorite Pork and Chive dumplings and Beef Noodle Bowl did not disappoint. I am so happy and proud of Yumpling and their expansion! Welcome back to the City Yumpling!! I will be back to both your LIC and Midtown locations!! Love you guys!! Cheers!!!!

Yumpling is a fantastic spot if you're craving authentic, freshly made dumplings. The dumplings are incredibly flavorful, with perfectly balanced fillings and wrappers that are tender yet hold together well. Whether you order them steamed, boiled, or pan-fried, you can tell they're made with care and quality ingredients. Beyond the dumplings, the menu has a great variety of classic comfort dishes, and everything feels very home-style and satisfying. The portions are generous for the price, making it a great value. The service is friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere is casual and welcoming--perfect for a quick meal or a relaxed dinner with friends. Overall, Yumpling is a must-visit if you love dumplings or want a reliable spot for delicious, comforting Chinese food. Highly recommend!

Tried the pork chop over rice. The pork was tender and not dry, the stewed pork sauce was good and the proportions of all the components were very good.

So, following months of wait... we are finally tasting some close to work authentic Taiwanese food! Once again, the good people (and hungry ones they are) at work and I gathered to embark on this culinary adventure. Dumplings.. er, sorry, YUMplings; I absolutely prefer the pork ones... it's, IMO, what they are SUPPOSED to be filled with and the chives just give them that touch of authenticity. The chicken and veggie ones aren't bad, but I simply prefer the OG pork ones. Now, the office was split on this. We need a tie breaker! The Pork Chop over rice, otherwise known as "Pai Gu Fan", tasted JUST like their counter parts in Asian neighborhoods in the outer boros. Served with a bit of their Lu Rou (seasoned mince meat + what I believe is preserved veggies) over your rice of choice, 1/2 a soy sauce egg and pickled veggies. Value; this is where they loose points. Out the door @ just under $16 for a rice dish is good value for midtown Manhattan... but, IMO, you fall short when you fail to satisfy a big boy's appetite. Say, you get their Yumpling Trio; yes, a very tasty treat (although some of my work pals didn't quite feel the thickness of their dumpling skin), the portion is insufficient for IT to be lunch at $21. The hours are (for he moment?) 11-3pm. Ordering food can be done via tablet. Food is prepared very swiftly.

Very good Taiwanese food. Came here after a recc from a coworker, who compared it to the quality he's had in Flushing, so my expectations were high and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm originally from the bay and the flavor is exactly what I remember from the bento box places over there. Small seating area, and ordering is done from tablet kiosks against one of the walls. Food was fairly quick to come out. Definitely coming back.

Food colored; I didn't find out until o brought it back. That's something that should have been disclosed for people that care about their livers. Very tasty and good service though. Pleasant atmosphere.

We went right at opening and it want too busy. They had a few calls for pickup/delivery but my friend and I were the only people dining in. They have their menu posted on the exterior wall so it was easy for us to browse and decide on what we wanted before we walked in. We were seated right away and able to order right away. Our food came out fast and the portions were huge. It was packed with flavor. The waiters were also attentive in refilling our waters. I'm excited to come back in the future to try their other items.

Great eats at Four Four!…read more Staple appetizers of fried chicken and fried pork chop are great here! The breading is light but is seasoned well; sweet with a light kick of spice. The noodles in both of these soup dishes were phenomenal. Right amount of bounce, texture, and chew. The braised beef comes with a hearty broth that warms the belly. The spicy beef noodle soup wasn't the hottest (spice-wise), but it still gets the job. Very soothing to the throat! The beef was tender and juicy. A lot of sesame seeds in the soup, but I didn't mind it too well. Four Four's ambiance is cute and clean. The service here was amazing, prompt, and helpful!

It's been weeks and I'm still thinking about the broth. It had levels of complexity and paired up with fresh noodles and tender beef that melted in your mouth, yeah, there's a reason I'm still thinking about it! I went with a friend who had never had Taiwanese food and I'm a bit sad that 886 was the first experience for her because other places after this are going to be a let down. We split the beef noodle soup, Taiwanese fried chicken and scallion pancake beef wrap. The chicken was also perfection served with an in house honey chili crisp sauce. The scallion pancake beef wrap was good but in a purist who likes scallion pancake on its own. Even though it's easy village and not Chinatown, visit this place, it is worth the visit!!! I can't wait to visit their sister restaurant in Brooklyn one day! 谢谢!

I paid extra for more meat, which was a solid choice. it did not, however, make up for the lack of flavor. chew of the noodles was great, though. the only decent item my friend and I had here was the popcorn chicken. super fresh, steaming hot, crispy, and loads of flavor. I would come back here again just for that. ambiance is nice -- solid lighting and fun art around. tables are inches apart so you will definitely hear and be sat right next to others. workers were slightly rude, the restaurant seems to be run by girls in their early 20s/teens. I'm sure the food is more authentic and service is more quality elsewhere.

I went to this casual Taiwanese spot a while back with a group. The food here was overall tasty…read morewith the best thing being definitely the spicy beef & tendon noodle soup along with the braised beef with noodles which makes sense as it's a Taiwanese beef noodle spot. The rest of the dishes were still pretty tasty with a notable unique version of dan dan noodles. I didn't have a drink and I don't think anyone else did. Service was fine and the place is very casual. On a side note, I got a Tea Egg and I wouldn't really recommend it much as it lacked the flavor of most tea eggs. The first thing that arrived was one of the appetizers the Assorted Cold Dish with jade cucumber, black fungus in vinegar sauce, and spiced edamame. The portion was fine and they had a mixture of crunch and textures. It would be good to share though my preference of the mixtures was the Assorted Luwei with tofu, kelp knots, and boiled eggs. Referring to dishes braised in soy sauce, I particularly liked the kelp due to it's crunchy yet soft texture with the strips of tofu also being very tasty while the eggs as per the tea egg prior were alright. We also got as an appetizer the Spicy Braised Pig's Ear. A bunch of the other people at the table didn't really like this but I liked the texture mostly because I'm a fan of tendon and cartilage and this has that crunchy but soft texture almost like a crunchy jello. This spice was on the lighter end but it still had a little bit of heat. There was also the Seasonal Greens which were pretty tasty though not as necessary as most of the greens were included in the other dishes such as the pork chops and soups. There was also the Popcorn Chicken which had the usual white pepper and slight sweetness I associate with this version and it was solid and warm (though I wouldn't recommend it to go.) Overall, the appetizers were good but they aren't the star of this place. Best of the main dishes was as noted the Spicy Beef & Tendon Noodle Soup. Both the beef and the tendon in there were super tender. The noodles had the QQ texture I'd expect from a good Taiwanese spot. I have had richer beef noodle soups before but it was still well flavored and the bit of spice in there was a nice extra kick. A bit spicier by comparison was the Dan Dan Noodles which I was a bit surprised to see on the menu. They were prepared differently from the dan dan mein from other spots; more like a soupier noodle. By comparison to the beef/tendon noodle soup, it was more Sichuan peppercorn and spicier by comparison. Both were tasty with a slight preference to the former due to the different types of beef and I liked tasting the soup a bit better. We also got the Braised Beef With Noodles which is offered over rice or with noodles. Due to the great noodle texture, we got it over noodles of course. The beef again was tasty though I preferred it as a noodle soup. It was still good and I would order it on a different day. Our only non noodle dish was the Fried Pork Chops With Rice which was fine. The pork chops have the usual white pepper and light sweetness you find in this style though it was a bit chewy. Outside of the pork and rice, there was also some cucumbers and it came with half a boiled egg. This was as expected alright but I would recommend getting noodles as it's definitely their specialty.
