Food was decent, definitely overpriced but I guess that's what you get for being in Times Square. Flavors were okay and it was average in terms of freshness. Probably a one and done for me.

Ordered from this place for a company luncheon and it was so good we ordered it again. I like the customization option. My favorite is japchae noodles with white rice, bulgogi kimchi and majority of the toppings. I tried black sesame alioli and soy garlic. Not a big fan of the alioli but the soy garlic sauce was really good. The crispy chicken and spicy pork was not too bad either. I did order the shrimp one time but it was left out of my order.

Great fast casual Korean spot with bowls already created or create your own bowl options. I went with the create your own as you can add more toppings. Got pork and beef with all the toppings and it was so good. Very quick in and out. They have a few tables if you want to eat in. Walk a few blocks and enjoy it at Bryant park. About $14 for the smaller option bowl. Was pretty filling and could totally be two meals!

Had no idea what to expect but just checked off all the cravings and it is amazing how well all the flavors mixed together! The food was 5/5!!

One of my all time favorite grab and go lunch bowls. It's such a good price point - $13 for my half rice, half salad half crispy chicken and half bulgogi bowl loaded with all kinds of toppings at no extra cost! The sauces are DELICIOUS, especially the soy garlic and black sesame dressings. I usually get 2 melas out of this one bowl too. While I like the variety of two different types of meat, I would suggest getting just the crispy chicken for the whole thing since there's a much more generic portion with this meat. I know there's so many bowl places in the city but Ongi remains top tier!!

ONGI is one of our favorite places to eat in the city. They offer a variety of options, whether you want to choose from their pre-set bowls or create your own custom bowl. I always create mine with Bulgogi and Grilled Salmon, which is always a great combination. They offer five base options, including salad, rice, and noodles (you can choose 2), and you can choose up to two proteins for a regular bowl or three for a large bowl. The best part? You can load up on as many toppings as you'd like--I always go for everything! For the sauce, I highly recommend their black sesame aioli and soy garlic sauce. They're both incredibly flavorful and really elevate the dish. Highly recommend ONGI for anyone looking for a delicious, customizable meal!

Stopped in for carry out during a work trip and was wowed by the clean, modern interior, friendly staffer, great choices, fresh ingredients, and really great tasting food. If Chipotle had a Korean/Bi Bim Bap spin off, this would be it. My bulgogi beef bowl with great sauces really hit the spot. I also tried a Charred (bao) Bun and really enjoyed it. The main event is the bowl and that's all I would get next time.

Once again I had a pork bao and pork dumplings at Ongi. Both were tasty but small. Next time I should try a bowl as so many of the lunch time customers were eating those. With a menu that has so many choices it looks appealing. Service was brisk and I did get a seat to enjoy my lunch. Ongi is a year old which was when I had first visited it.

This restaurant serves medium and large bowls with a variety of meats, shrimp, and noodles and greens in addition to rice. It's a great lunch time option. The service is quick and helpful. The interior is stylish.

    Savory Bulgogi Beef Pork Dumplings

Fast, casual, and just a great concept... it's like Cava, but Korean ingredients and flavors. The savory bulgogi beef bowl really hit the spot for me, it was well cooked and flavored and came with a poached egg on top. I got a side of the steamed pork dumplings as well, and it was a really easy, affordable meal. I really wish they would expand to the west coast.

Oh a build your own bowl fast casual spot in midtown? How original! The idea has been beaten to death obviously but Ongi is pretty decent. Custom bowls start at $13.95 for a "small" and I think are $15.95 for a "large". The large comes with an additional protein choice (3 instead of 2). For bases, I got half japchae and half white rice, both of which were tasty. Rice was cooked well. I like that even with the small you can get two different proteins - I opted for the beef bulgogi and the spicy pork and strongly preferred the latter. Bulgogi was just okay. Toppings are unlimited and are the standard fare: pickled veg, lettuce, carrots, etc. The sauce choices were interesting and I was bummed that you're limited to one (extras are $1 each which seems excessive). I got the sesame aioli which was good but heavy. I was glad I got it on the side. Probably wouldn't rush back but I would add it to the lunch rotation.

I'm a huge fan of the built-your-own bowl approach, and an even bigger fan of Korean food, so it was a no brainer to try Ongi when it popped up on my radar. You can either opt for one of their signature bowls, or create a custom bowl (base, protein, sauce and toppings), in either a medium (24 oz) or large (32 oz) size. The sauces are homemade and there is a good variety of them. Toppings are unlimited except for the premium ones that have an additional cost (poached egg, avocado, kimchi). The bulgogi beef bowl is pretty good but my custom shrimp bowl is amazing! As are the spicy sauces. The shrimp are large and flavorful. And the brown rice - omg, best I've ever eaten - so soft and chewy, not at all the hard texture one usually expects of brown rice. I also had the fried chicken nuggets (similar to karaage) - the portion is very generous and the chicken tastes good, but I wish it were more crispy, and came with a dipping sauce or two. Ongi will definitely be part of my regular midtown lunch rotation.

Amazing. I am a new client thru DoorDash. My beef bulgogi bowl was a God send. So happy!

I wasn't a big fan of the fried dumplings; they didn't have much flavor in my opinion. Our server was great and tried to accommodate as best as he could. We were very disappointed with the food. I was bummed they were out of the oxtail eggrolls. The items we ordered lacked flavor and just didn't hit. We ordered the chicken satay, the peanut sauce was a bit too thick and in our opinion didn't compliment the chicken and the chicken tasted pretty greasy. I ordered the shrimp dumplings and really enjoyed those. I also ordered the sea bass. It was a bit bland and the rice that was served on the side was hard. My cousin enjoyed the spice kung pao chicken. For drinks, we ordered the sidecar and lychee martini. I thought my drink was pretty good. If I'm ever in the area again, I think I would try it again just to see if I didn't choose the right options.
