Its a dive bar so not too much to expect from ambiance plenty of seating n quirky decor. The place had a Halloween theme going and plenty of people in costumes which was fun to witness. But, to vegans, "dive bar" means nothing but a piece of lettuce or a slice of tomato. Of course, Portland knows better, and Paymaster really knows. There are 3 places to drink, eat and be merry. The front of the bar, which has some booths, tends to be a wee quieter, the back bar, which has a nice dark, lively vibe to it - and the outdoor patio, which is deceptively huge. We had veggie burgers (which were clearly homemade), tots, and cheesy balls (I could have eaten about a hundred). Beer list is on the board, which includes cider, hard kombucha (because we healthy) and the food menu calls out vegan, vegetarian and all other options. I had a pomegranate mule which was excellent, and our bartender (who was also the server) was great, funny, snarky-without-insults, and just an all around fun person. Taught me that bars in Oregon have to serve food - I did not know this! We're going back. Loved it.

After placing my food order, I waited approximately 42 minutes and received nothing. During that time, I observed the cook outside smoking and drinking with guests while paying customers continued waiting for their orders. At that point, I requested a refund because it was obvious that serving customers was not a priority. The situation became even worse when the bartender attempted to process the refund. She was unable to print a refund receipt and, after I mentioned that I was familiar with the Toast system, actually asked me to come behind the bar and process the refund myself. Asking a customer to do an employee's job because staff do not know how to perform basic functions is beyond unprofessional. I then discovered that I had been charged for five drinks despite consuming only two. When I pointed this out, the bartender's response was that she "didn't know" because she had just started her shift. That answer is completely unacceptable. If your staff cannot accurately account for what customers are being charged, that is a serious operational problem and raises legitimate concerns about billing practices. As a property manager located nearby, I have spent years recommending your establishment to residents and visitors. Under the previous ownership, I regularly supported and promoted your business with you all providing me $20 gift cards to my new residents because it provided a positive experience. Unfortunately, based on what I witnessed during this visit, I can no longer do so in good conscience. Watching staff socialize and drink while customers wait nearly an hour for food, being overcharged for drinks I never consumed, and then being asked to process my own refund is one of the most unprofessional experiences I have had at any bar or restaurant.

I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

Right off the bat I knew I'd enjoy it because there were TV's everywhere! Grabbed a seat at the bar, which was pretty active. Before I begin, I've gotta say the bartender, Lincoln (I think she goes by Linc) was fantastic. She was not only handling the bar but the entire restaurant! She was extremely knowledgeable and attentive to everyone, pretty amazing in itself. Linc recommended a local draft, RPM IPA, which was awesome. For dinner she quickly recommended the Kickin' Chicken Sandwich, which I agreed to. Kickin' Chicken is a must try if you visit this place. Super tasty, moist and not overwhelming with heat. Amazing sandwich and perfect size. It comes with potato wedge fries that are also really good.

My buddies and I come in here a couple times a month. Drinks are stiff and food is ok. We like the free popcorn, although the machine needs a cleaning. The gals behind the bar are always friendly and quick. We were here the other night and everything was chill, until one of the employees (a guy with shaved head and scraggly beard) came out of the kitchen and without warning, started yelling at an older woman at the bar. She and her friends got up to leave and he screamed at her "suck my c*%k" which was embarrassing. He ran back behind the bar and proceeded to heap abuse on her (we finally gathered that he thought she owed him money from years ago - she kept denying it). One of her friends stayed behind to ask what the problem was and the guy behind the bar kept screaming obscenities and saying crazy stuff about a job he did years ago and didn't get paid. The lady's friend was trying to calm it down but the employee wasn't having it. Then a guy at the bar with a Yur's sweatshirt on got involved and the friend left. It was really weird - came out of nowhere and the older woman at the bar was a paying customer. This employee's tirade had nothing to do with Yur's. I've never seen an employee attack a customer before for no reason. It was stupid. read more

There is a dynamic duo and they are the Saranillo Sisters aka bartenders Cherie and Jublie at Yurs Bar & Grill. Every time I go there they make me feel so at home and part of the scene even if I'm just sitting by myself. Also they create great cocktails and could work at any high end bar in town but they choose to work at Yurs because they love the laid back lifestyle Yurs bar encompasses and tending to patrons without stuck up personalities. The bartenders are extremely rude. The nicer you are - the meaner they become. They are fucking douchebag trolls. But, this bar is super close and it has a nice feel (when you get away from the asshole bartenders) you can play pool, have free popcorn, and they have a cool smoking alley. Since this is my neighborhood bar I usually come here a couple times a month with friends - and the bartenders are rude and nasty EVERY TIME. Just moved into the neighborhood, was told that I have to come to this place. It's smack dab ok. Nothing special. That's not in a bad way or anything, sometimes that's just fine. Decent pub food, would probably go back for that for sure. Nachos and the Chicken fingers were actually really good. The drinks were a little TOO stiff. A Gin and tonic should have a little tonic, but it's not my first long pour. I'll be back, but probably would never make a night out of it read more

The server promptly brought us menus and, although everything has to be ordered at the bar, he still comes by several times while we ate dinner and had drinks out front. My friends order Fish & Chips, and I'm told they are some of the best in the area. Everything was crispy and well seasoned. I got the taco salad with came with the house chili instead of taco meat - it is really pretty good! I even get a side of extra chippies to go with my meal. The portion was a little skimp, I think, considering most of this dish consists of lettuce. If only they would add more to it and turn this sucker into a big ole dish, this salad could be awesome! The drinks were good, not measured but not poured with a super heavy hand like some other places I know.

There's a core group of regulars who seem permanently stationed at the bar, carrying most of the conversation, but if you're there to watch a game, hang with friends, and keep to your own lane, it works perfectly. And then there are the wings. Honestly, the best chicken wings I've ever had. No exaggeration. No ironic qualifiers. They're the reason I keep coming back, the kind of food that lingers in your brain long after you've left. I think about them more often than I'd like to admit. Service is solid for the setting -- efficient, straightforward, no nonsense. The burger didn't do much for me personally; the charbroiled style just isn't my thing, but that's a preference issue, not necessarily a flaw. If you want craft cocktails and curated playlists, go somewhere else. The place other than that feels like a typical dive bar - casual and not too expensive with friendly service. We didn't have any food but the menu looked good.

Just came in for some pool and drinks but was greeted by the bartender to stop walking in and for…read morehim to look at our IDs( ok very normal but!) Then..... he ignored us for quite a few minutes. I then tried to get his attention to look at my ID and he acted like I was an inconvenience for him. He checked my id and gave it back to me and then checked my poc partners id.... Wish I was a joking when I said he threw it back at them! Quite insane. We left after, didn't bother buying a drink and supporting that behavior.... Boo! Tomato! Would love to have felt welcome as an out of state patron visiting for the first time....... But it was weird!
