Came into River Pig to try to catch some of the UW vs UCLA game. The game was on the projector screen. About 15 minutes in the bartender came over and changed the channel to F1 racing... I looked around the bar and didn't see anyone watching racing. We went ahead and moved a few tables so that we could see the tv above the bar. No big deal. About an hour later, the bartender then turned all the TVs off and displayed the menu on a few TVs. Apparently sports watching was over. We were going to finish watching the game but decided to leave. Not sure if Tito's and Bacardi are the well drinks but they didn't ask us what we preferred and defaulted to that when we went to pay the bill which was about $10 a drink. Bison burger was thick and had good buns but was overcooked, tough & flavorless and the shredded lettuce and mayo made it greasy & soggy pretty fast. At $19, it was pretty expensive too. I've only been past 10 pm when the restaurant mainly becomes a dance floor, but i've had good experiences each time. It's always busy and has good music playing. Drinks are also reasonably priced. Good late night spot for the younger crowd. read more

The bartender was very nice at first but my husband placed his glass too far up on the bar and it was like a light switch flipped. She scolded him to not place his glass there for sanitary reasons.... Which to be clear is perfectly reasonable... but there was no reason for her to be so rude. She snatched the bar rail mats off and stalked away. From that point on we were invisible and if forced to interact with us she was very curt. On my latest visit in June, we decided to sit on the patio. It was a beautiful Oregon day and the US Open was on, so we got to have the best of both worlds. We were served fast and continually checked on throughout our visit. I feel like this is something to note, because sometimes you can get forgotten about when you sit outside. That is not the case here, so kudos to the waitress who was taking care of us. The drinks were all ice cold and delicious. There's a TON of options. Service was absolutely terrible. My husband and I have been here before and have enjoyed the food and drinks. However, we just left very unhappy. There were many groups of men there watching the football games, but all 4 woman servers completely neglected us (never offered food and ignored our empty glasses) as well as a group of two women sitting nearby because they were too busy flirting with the groups of men and serving them. In addition, there were multiple dogs in the venue (not a problem with us as we are animal lovers) but one of the servers touched the dogs multiple times AND we caught her playing with her bellybutton ring, never washed her hands, and was serving people's food. Very unsanitary. They were also allowing children into the establishment which, judging by the "no minors" sign, should not be allowed. If I could leave no stars I would. I was at first Thursday on May 1st when I was assaulted by a bar tender at River Pig Saloon. I was waiting in line outside to hopefully get in to use the bathroom and get a soda because I don't drink, when I was pushed violently from behind by a bar tender in a purple shirt with facial hair and long hair covered by a black hat. I said "woah", confused why he had just done this, to which he responded "you better calm the f*** down right f***ing now" when I was not in any way in an escalated state. I then watched the same bartender proceed to do this to several other people before he punch someone in the face and then started gauging the customers eyes with his fingers. The bouncer broke up the fight and the bartender was left to start another fight while the customer got thrown out. Overall I would not recommend this place. Though the food is okay, the ambiance is terrible and feels entirely unsafe. I would recommend heading to Two Wrongs down the block. read more

Finally, a bar that truly welcomes dogs--unlike so many so-called "dog-friendly" spots in Portland. While many places claim to allow dogs, most either restrict it to service animals or have uncomfortable metal tables and chairs that aren't ideal for you or your pup. I live out of state and was visiting for vacation, I was stahhhvin so me and my friend went to river pig. Nick was the bartender and oh my god. I have never had such great service in my life. I've never been to Oregon and he told us so many different places to go see and really really realllly made this trip worth while. I've even been back since just because of the service Nick provided. He makes the best drinks and knows the best food items on the menu. The vibe of this place is also just really cool. The bathrooms are downstairs where there is a couch, some games, a vending machine with some surprise items & my personal favorite- the Photo Booth. I will definitely be back. The ambience is chill with bricked walls and lots of wood tables ,neon signs and bar seating . Its a great spot to watch sports or just hang out with your buddies .Food is OK with burgers being their most famous menu item. The outside patio is very popular during summers and is almost always full. The not so good - Extremely crowded ,even with Covid I see a lot of crowd in this place and don`t feel entirely comfortable with so many people at close quarters with one another. The crowd here is mostly young and it gets really really loud ,and it is impossible to have a conversation at times . Service is average and it takes a bit to get your order in . We came here for the rams/ bucs game because the food looked good and it just looked like a great place to watch the game. Honestly the food outdid itself. I was shocked at the quality and flavors river pig had to offer. The bacon Jam was incredible, the breakfast sandwich was literally so good I could've eaten two. Even the potato's were salty and flavourful! Drinks were flowing and the atmosphere was really good. The only thing I'll say is the bathrooms weren't really clean but hey it's a pub! I am going preface this with, I am a happily married woman! Oh my goodness, I usually avoid dark corners after the sun sets, but this place is a must! Was it a fluke? Is it always like this? Sooo many men, just chillin' eating' drinking, this is the watering hole ladies dream of finding! If you are single and want to mingle with a tummy full of the best shrimp adobada tacos, this is your haven. The environment was fun, very relaxed, there is a a baller of a stuffed bear watching over it all and the staff was great. I like all the unique lighting and wall features, but the highlight of signage for me was definitely the neon "pee pee room". I love humor, men, good food, strong drinks and they just hand it all to you on an unassuming platter of a good time.
