Staying tonight amid the Pride and Fifa run times
    Dianna B.

We stayed at the VYE hotel last night. I would not reccomend this to folks who want an upscale experience. 1. The elevators; apparently are still down, only 1 works for a 16 floor hotel. We hooded it down the back staircase rather than wait the long time to grab the elevator. 2. My king room was beat up. The bed was nice, but the ac, if shifted from 65° makes an awful racket. At 65 it blows all night long and its cold. This is a 2 edged sword: great when you come in, terribly cold to sleep in. Im glad i brought my own covers. The shampoo, conditoner and body wash are ALL soap. No conditioner at all. Just soap, and the shampoo dispenser shows 3 different products or a break down in one. Gross. There was a questionable stain on the drapes, the door really leaks light, the coffee maker had no needles to puncture the kpod. The staff was mostly cool, though i watched the concierge go off on a couple this morning. Not at all a professional reaction to them not having a receipt, when she wasnt the one who had helped them out. No i would not stay here again.

    Lopsided tv

This was our second (and third) stay at Hotel YVE Miami and it was a terrible experience. I am absolutely dismayed by how this was handled from start to finish. At the beginning of our trip, we were unable to check in because the hotel's system was down. There was no prior communication, and we were sent to another hotel with no reimbursement for the Uber. The voucher provided did not even cover an equivalent king size room, which added unnecessary stress to the start of our trip. After returning from our cruise, we stayed at YVE again and the issues continued. The room was not clean. There was hair from previous guests on the bathroom counter, no fitted sheet on the bed, no bed cover, and the AC unit was extremely loud. The TV was lopsided, the table tops were severely worn, and the hotel door had to be forced open and closed because the hinges were clearly misaligned. We could constantly hear other guests and their TVs. What made this worse was the lack of management. There never seemed to be a manager on duty after hours, which left staff unable to resolve issues. I was told a manager would contact me and that never happened. I also called multiple times leading up to the trip and no one ever answered the phone. We chose this hotel solely because of its proximity to the Miami cruise port, but it ended up being a major headache during what should have been a time of rest. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had, and I will never stay here again. I would not recommend this to anyone looking for a high-end or restful stay.

Small bathroom. No place to put any of your makeup or bathroom supplies

Absolutely terrible hotel. Dirty, Loud, No pool, not near a beach, the gym has 3 machines and a couple of dumbbells. The bathroom is the size of a bathroom on a small aircraft. The carpet is dirty, the walls and furniture is beat up. Do not stay here. The staff however were nice. But I also didn't request or ask anything of them besides my room key.

Great location -- right across from Bayside and directly at the cruise terminal, which makes it very convenient. However, it's a bit far from the beach. The hotel itself could use some updates. The bathroom is small, and when you turn on the light, it sounds like an airplane taking off. There was only one small trash can in the room, and I had to request washcloths and towels. The staff were nice and helpful. The hotel advertises laundry, but it's a pricey third-party service. There's no pool, and valet parking is also expensive. Overall, it's fine for a 1-2 night stay.

2nd stay at YVE. I enjoyed the last one and this one. Nicely located by many attractions, especially the Heat arena and not too far from cruise ports. Facility isn't the most modern, but is is very clean and priced nicely. I'd stay again.

Incredible bargain from AirBnB with a terrific location and very good service. Beautiful room with killer view of skyline and Biscayne Bay. 5 star ambience: I have to admit, the bad ratings on Yelp made no sense to me. The lobby was beautiful and so was the room. The location doesn't get more central, diagonally across the street from Bayside Marketplace and the cruise ship port. The lobby was sparkling and modern inside. The room was pristinely white on white. The smallish window looked out on a sweeping view of Biscayne Bay, from the NBA arena to cruise ships. 5 star service: a modest resort fee covered almost all amenities including 2 bottles of water, gym, etc. Front desk and other staffers were polite and efficient. I was simply amazed for the price. Service and ambience were terrific, especially for this price point.

Soap right out of the box

The start of this experience was not good and it continued throughout the stay. The man at the front counter was extremely rude from the beginning, (I think his name was Dematri). It started with me asking if I had received the upgrade I had been offered by email, and he blew me off responding as if he had no idea what I was talking about, and wouldn't even look at the email I had received directly from this company. Then he informed us at check in that they could not issue us a key, that there was an issue with the system. I don't even know if this is legal, but he assured us that security was taking people to their rooms using a master key. We checked in, as we really didn't know the area and wasn't sure where else to go. We were assured there would not be long wait times for room access at this time. We went to our room, dropped off our luggage and when to dinner. Upon our return, the security guard had just gone up in an elevator to take a group of people to their rooms. While we were waiting, 6 airline crew walked in, got checked and given key cards. I asked if the system was working so we could get one and was told it still wasn't working. We continued waiting, and the airline crew joined us. After about 10-12 minutes of waiting, the security guard returned. As I entered the elevator, I was asked to leave so the airline crew could be taken to their rooms first. Now mind you they had their own key cards and did not need his assistance in gaining access to their rooms. They had arrived after us, had key cards and were still given priority. I was mad and commented to my husband how rude that had been. The manager (an oriental woman) made a snarky comment about why I was upset. I explained the issue, and she seemed unbothered and offered no apology. We waited for 20 minutes +/- before we were taken to our room. When we got back to our room, my husband went to take a shower. When he opened the bar of soap on the counter. It had hair on it and other debris. There were no wash cloths or hand towels. The room wasn't really clean, small pieces of trash on the floor. The only thing this place has going for it is the location to the pier and cruise ports. I highly recommend you avoid this hotel at all costs. They offer have no parking available for guests unless you pay $55 for valet parking, or pay $40+ at the garage that charges that fee every time you enter the parking garage. We will not be returning or recommending this hotel to anyone, and furthermore I will be leaving reviews on all possibly platforms. Only 2 elevators for over 14 floors, and one was working this morning. Waited over 5 minutes to have the doors open on a full elevator with no room and ended up taking the stairs. I do have to say that after our return from breakfast the manager on duty (a gentleman, I didn't get his name), took us right up to our room, and actually took the stairs back down himself so that other guests could use the elevator. He was the only person we dealt with that was professional during our stay.

As you could see, they offer a shuttle right there however, when I asked her how far it was, she told me she didn't know.
    Wendy B.

We chose this hotel because my stepson was flying in from another state for a cruise out of Miami so we wanted to stay in the same hotel. They do have valet parking but I believe it's $55. It's pretty centrally located, but I didn't travel out much because we got in late and then had to leave early The morning of the cruise concierge has no knowledge of anything and is not very helpful. She would rather play on her phone than help you. I asked her if she knew an approximate distance or location of the ports. She said she didn't know. I asked her if she knew how long the valet usually takes to pull around the vehicle. She said she didn't know. The ports are less than 3 miles away and I'm pretty sure over 50% of the people who stay there go to the ports because they have a shuttle that they offer at eight dollars per person and that shuttle advertisement is right on her desk As you could see from the mirror in the room, that has a bunch of rust all around it and it would be a cheap upgrade that would make a lot of difference. There's also no washcloths in the room. Basically, if you need a place to stay for a nice it is fine, but I wouldn't plan a vacation to stay here more than one night They have two elevators for a 17 story hotel. The staff, housekeeping, and everybody else uses the same two elevators should be prepared to wait a half hour for an elevator.

Hotel was mediocre. Room was gross and falling apart. The headboard was disintegrating. The sheets were stained. Bed was hard as a rock. Bathroom amenities were falling off the wall. Cheap easy stay for a night.

Ruined leather jacket thanks to YVE hote, never offered any sort of compensation for damages.
    Joey M.

Absolute disgusting customer service (picture included) They ruined my favorite leather jacket I bought in Italy 8 years ago. I recently stayed here and checked in my bags before our check in. The hotel put an adhesive sticker with a number on my leather jacket. Of course, you're not supposed to put stickers on leather! I am surprised how careless they were. When I brought it up, they said they had to review the security tapes to make sure I didn't put the sticker on my jacket myself. (Why would I do that?) They later confirmed that they put the sticker on the jacket and the video confirms it. They told me they would bring it up to the manager and resolve the issue. I sent an email to the manager. Of course, we checked out without being able to speak to the manager and after multiple emails, multiple days, never heard back again. I was extremely patient with them, but have not heard from them since I left. Update (12/21): despite what the manager said below, I never heard from them. If they really cared and took it seriously they would have. Not worth the price.

If you miss breakfast, they had breakfast bags with fruit and other grab and go items. You will need your room key to access the laundry room and guest floors. There is no carpet in the room I was in (basic king- not the elite level) and pets are not allowed. Service animals only. The hotel has a lobby bar, three restaurants are located right next door (Sproutz, Batch Gastropub, and Shahs of Kabob). I dined at Sproutz and Shahas of Kabob and both are good, but they are not affiliated with the hotel. I stayed 3 nights prior to my cruise and I really enjoyed my stay. The air conditioner worked with no issues, pillows are very soft, bed was firm, but not uncomfortable and I slept better in that bed, than my own. There is a master light switch to control the overhead light in the entry and bathroom. You can operate them separately (it just takes some flipping of lights to figure it out). Decent water pressure and nice, hot water at night. Morning time I suggest getting your shower in early. Hot water is still present but not as hot as it was the night before. Tip- I took my shower at 5/6am the morning of checkout and the water was hot and perfect for a nice shower before leaving for cruise. Staff was always smiling, friendly and willing to assist. Carlos at the concerige desk is very helpful, ask for his recommendations and he is more than happy to assist. The 7th floor has the laundry facility, but many machines were out of order. This is going on my pre cruise hotel list because it was the perfect hotel and the perfect location. It was about a 15min ride to the cruise port and airport. The restaurant is gorgeous with various spaces designed differently but keeps to the exotic Asian theme. Dining in the atrium near the water feature in the middle with stage for the musicians is where we had our experience. Olga was our server. She brought us our special beverages not available at the bar: Bloody Mary's and endless bubbly in our glasses The offerings here are more than I can name, but there is something to satisfy every craving. The favorite for me is the caviar bar. It comes with all the proper fixings on a blini with Crème fraîche. Do you need a vodka shot to go with? Yes, that's also available also at the caviar station. Fresh raw oysters, clams or shrimp cocktail is available in abundance with everything else here. The ceviche was great. I passed on all the various noodles but had to have some lamb curry and basmati rice- delicious! I had some Peking Duck and leg of lamb at the meat station. The filet mignon and lamb chops was ordered and brought to the table. The leg of lamb and filet were slightly dry but still good. The lamb chops with chimichurri sauce was amazing- nuances of vibrant flavors. Assorted fresh fruits were a colorful collection of enticements. I saw some papaya and enjoyed its fresh, sweet juiciness. I am not a dessert person but had to try the key like pie. Then of course, the matcha dessert is a sitting temptation next to the pie. So, my dessert spoils were more than intended. What the hell right? Lol That was the sweet ending to my Setai brunch. There was so much more such as bread, fried stuff, eggs, bagel station, toast etc. One can only eat so much. I stuck to enjoying my favorites. The experience is pricey but so worth it. It is truly the best brunch experience I've ever had. - better than Vegas and a cruise ship!! I always have to experience a Setai brunch whenever in Miami!

First, the good, it's an awesome location on the southern tip of Brickell Key. The pool was wonderful and gets mostly continuous sun exposure during the day. My balcony faced west so I had sun during the afternoon as well (perfect for a tan). Honestly, I never felt like I needed to leave the resort being a pool guy. The base price room was spacious and mostly clean with a separate shower and tub. The bad- the service wasn't great here. I felt like anytime I needed something I had to ask 3-4 times before staff would remember (including freebies that were part of the room rate). The one time I asked a concierge for assistance he was super brash telling me to go talk to the front desk. The property felt old and in need of a renovation (again it's being demolished so not surprising in that context). Also, a lot of the ads for the resort promote its beach which no longer exists- it's now a model home for the condos going in. The hotel is pricey and gratuity is auto-included at 20% for everything which would be fine if the service was better and they didn't ask for additional tip on top of it. I wish I stayed here 20+ years ago because it felt like in its hay day this was a swanky hotel. Today, it's tired, on its last months, and the staff really don't seem like 5-star talent (as a benefit to the doubt most people would be unmotivated if things were shutting down too). Part of me is excited to try the new hotel whenever it opens, part of me wonders if the poor service is just part of the brand. The gym was tacky- literally they just through equipment in 6ish guest rooms with the doors propped open. Kind of funny but not 5-star hotel caliber.

Our attendant was attentive but not hovering, kept the drinks coming, and food came out fast. Everything we ordered was solid -- perfect pool-day food and refreshing cocktails. There is a minimum spend requirement for the cabana, but it was super easy to hit between food and drinks. And considering you're paying for a dedicated space, service, and a prime poolside setup, it felt worth it. Overall, it was the perfect day to unwind and feel a little luxe. I'd definitely book the Ivy cabana again.

From the moment we arrived with check-in, getting our bags to our room, we were treated like true VIPs. Once we got to the room, we had time to change and head to the pool. The evenings were great as we were able to sit out on the balcony and relax, while at the same time being in the lobby or hitting the restaurant was always great. We took advantage of the on-site yoga classes and the beach every day while we were there. The beach area was nice, in the servers supporting the beach I felt did their best to accommodate all of the guests outside. If you're a frequent AMEX user, I would definitely recommend going through your AMEX as it really did just make a difference. The grounds were well kept the pool was clean. The staff was friendly and most importantly, we had an overall great experience. I would definitely recommend it for anybody coming to South Beach to come here, as it's centrally located and it's easily accessible to lots of other activities you may want to consider.

After a long day of travel, we received two Prosecco as soon as we checked in and arrived. Our room was upgraded and it was located right across on top of the Naked Taco where the rooftop pool is at. It's perfectly located for anything you want to do, all the good food spots, bars, places, etc. The next day we went straight to the beach and they provide complimentary beach chairs, towels and umbrellas upon request and you just walk yourself to the beach with them. There's nothing like Miami Beach! The water was perfect and it felt so good to just defrost on the sand and dive into the gorgeous turquoise water. After a few hours at the beach, we went back, enjoyed late check out and headed to crunch fitness - which was absolutely worth it! We were able to leave our bags at the front desk while we worked out, grabbed a late lunch, some drinks and then got to come back and enjoy the rooftop pool during happy hour for drinks and snacks until sunset. It was the perfect Miami daycation that we needed!

And the five-star touch continued inside thanks to Melody, the Director of Front Desk, who made us feel like our stay actually mattered. We were celebrating a very special occasion--dinner plans were set, we simply needed a place to spend the night. What we got was an incredible room with a private terrace and a stunning view of South Beach. And as if it couldn't get any better, we were surprised with a complimentary bottle of champagne, which made for the perfect nightcap, and an even better start to the morning alongside our mimosa. If you're staying in South Beach, Dream is more than a name--it's an experience!

The Brickell area is a vibe, walkable and full of restaurants and shops, which makes it a perfect pre- or post-cruise stay. The hotel's proximity to the cruise port was a huge plus. Check-in is self-service, but assistance is available if needed, which made the process easy and convenient. The king bed does take up most of the room, stretching from the window to the wall, so the room feels a bit compact--but it's thoughtfully designed. The sink is located in the main room across from the bathroom, and I actually found the setup pretty functional. The shelves around the sink were stocked with a washcloth, hand towel, hair dryer, and tissues, plus hand soap and lotion at the end of the counter. There was also enough counter space for toiletries. There's an open closet area and a nice touch of wall art, and the laminated wood flooring gave the room a clean, modern feel. One of my favorite features was the in-room iPad that controls everything--such a fun tech-forward touch. I also absolutely loved the decor throughout the hotel. The colors are vibrant, playful, and stylish without feeling overdone. The second-floor seating areas were spacious and inviting, and the rooftop/pool space was another highlight. There's also a bar on the second floor with outdoor seating, which is a great spot to relax and people-watch. Overall, this hotel has a fun atmosphere, smart use of technology, and an unbeatable location. I'd definitely stay here again, especially for a quick stay before a cruise.

That said, the room itself was extremely small. It had all the essentials, but there wasn't much space to move around or unpack, so it felt a bit cramped, especially for a longer stay. If you're planning just a short visit or don't mind compact accommodations, it works, but it's definitely something to keep in mind. The staff was friendly and helpful, which made the stay smoother despite the limited room size. Overall, I'd say M Citizen is a great choice for its location and vibe, but pack light and don't expect spacious quarters.
