I was shopping for a complete new system, stereo, gps, blue tooth etc. etc. and found it very difficult to find a shop that could answer all my questions and provide what I needed. Until I stumbled into Z auto sound plus while driving on Tustin Ave and noticed that bright orange truck. So I went back and these folks are just amazing. They answered all my questions, had all the products I wanted at a very fair price and said they can do the whole install in one day with no problems. We made arraignments to drop off my vehicle and eight hours later I now have an amazing system, and all installed with a very high level of professionalism. Thank you, Tony! I installed an aftermarket backup camera in my Explorer and EVERY forum and wiring diagram I read said I needed to find the black and pink wire. Unable to find it after ripping panels off the driver and passenger side, I called here asking what they would charge to just find this dang wire. Tony told me to leave the panels off. The quote was beyond reasonable and I headed in. What none of the forums said is that if you have the basic sound package there is no black and pink wire. Running more wire from the brake light wasn't going to be an option with the bundle I had purchased and the size of my SUV. Tony looked and looked and pulled a few wire harnesses to confirm it and then told me I'd need more wire and to run it from the brake light to the front. Tony hooked it up and had I just called him from the start I could have saved myself a major headache. Top notch customer service and very knowledgeable. Didn't try to sell me on an install or anything else I wasn't looking to buy. We'll be upgrading a radio in our other car soon and we know right where we're going. Thank you again! read more

This place is shit. I went there with my friend to get my subs checked out. We filled out an order and that was that. We waited there patiently for 2 hours! They still haven't done shit! This place sucks! I went in about a year ago to simply upgrade my stereo. They installed it for me, but when returned to me, they said there was something wrong with the speakers and that they can fix it for me for a service fee, of course. I don't understand how the stereo worked fine but then be all messed up right after they returned it to me. I later found out that the stereo was sold to me for $20 more than what best buy was selling them for. I am truly disappointed in this place and do not recommend it to anyone. read more

this is the worst place ever. ordered new stereo and alarm viper. the installation was crappy. lots of hanging panels after they put my car back together. equipment is double the price. realized all this after taking home car and driving it around . noticed big gaps i my interior panels. when i was at store there was also another guy swearing and screaming at the workers and the countrr guy cause of crappy work. dont come to this place . bad attitude unproffesional and expensive people. plus crappy work. wont explain stuff well enough as well. read more

Terrible customer service and they cheat you. I came in to get two 6x9 Alpine SD speakers installed in my civic. I bought them from a friend and so they had been rolling around in my trunk for a few months so i wanted to make sure they were still working. So i asked the manager to test them before installing them. He said no problem and so I came back 2 hours later only for him to tell me that the one of the speakers is blown out. I trust him... BIGGEST MISTAKE... and so i buy a new set of rockford fosgate 6x9 speakers (which were worse than the ones i brought in) and then pay him for installation. ONLY TO FIND OUT MONTHS LATER when I had the chance to test them both that both of the Alpine 6x9 speakers worked PERFECTLY, no rips, no tears in the seams... nothing. He ripped me off, made me wait twice as long as I should have, and made me buy a worse set of speakers so he could get an extra $60... ridiculous. Don't make the same mistake I did. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. read more

First time here and i had a great experince all around. Customer service was great. The guys in the shop did a great job on the installation as well. Everything was installed and put together correctly the first time. Very clean installation, very clean sound. I purchased a whole new system for my kia optima 2016, two 12" subs, four door speakers, and two amplifiers. They also threw in roadkill dynamat package for free, to eliminate any rattling and help improve sound quality, which is expensive to buy. Overall, I was given a great package deal and they also have financing available. No complaints whatsoever. Ash, the manager was very helpful and has no problem going out of his way to help you. I had a problem with a system that was installed in my truck from audio dreams down the street, which ended up failing after less than a week of using it. Ash offered to fix it so it is done the right way and even offered to let me to turn in my other equipment for store credit. If you are hesitant on making a decision on where to go, hopefully this helps! read more

on more than one occasion i scheduled in advance to have some work done on my car. and on more than one occasion did i show up and have them tell me they didn't have the parts. they didn't have the common decency to call me and let me know that they didn't have the parts (or a clue what they were doing) before i took the time to drive over there. i don't know how they remain in business since I've never seen them install anything during the multiple times i was there. i saw men walking around, playing with their phones, and increasingly impatient customers waiting outside while the manager fed someone else a pack of lies. after well over a month of delay finding parts(with them holding a deposit, mind you) i finally closed my dealing with these incompetent crooks once and for all. this place is guaranteed to waste your time and quite possibly your money. i can only be thankful that i didn't allow these idiots to work on my car. do not go here. they will not live up to even your lowest expectations. read more

if i could, i'd rate them with no stars. first time walking in, they were friendly enough, probably just to get an easy sell out of a female buyer. proper install took 5 or 6 visits. like another reviewer said, it was as if i was imposing on them. horrible customer service. had to send my brother in to finish the last 2 visits. they finally got it to go but having used cheap parts and a cheaper fuse, that melted not even a year later, i took it to Car Stereo Warehouse in Anaheim and they took care of my car, no hassles, fair prices. oh yea, and if you take good care of your car, the installer left my light tan interior dirty every time, like he ate chocolate in my car or something, not to mention the wires were showing. eventually wound up removing it altogether after getting a new car and the guy that took out the system said it was never installed or wired correctly. learn from my experience and take your business elsewhere. read more

Where do i start! Ive had my stereo in my car for a very long time. I had Z autosound install everything and i purchased all the speakers and sub from there shop as well. About a month after i had my Performance Technique head unit that was "the best" installed the first one wouldn't work so i had to take it back. they kindly put a new on in my car that was a cheaper model because they just so happened to not have the one i bough in stock any more. After about 2 months with that one the volume button decided to stop working and get stuck on full blast. Instantly i called the shop and let them know they said they could schedule an appointment for me... um hello the radio is blasting. Well needless to say that came out right away and i purchased a much nicer head unit at best buy for much cheaper than they were trying to sell me. After a couple of years the stereo never really sounded premium anymore and things would start and stop working randomly then my amps started going out. Ive had them replace them 3 times now and this last time i attempted to get it replaced they decide to tell me that i needed my receipt from 6 years ago. They guy kept telling me i was due for an upgrade as if I'm purchasing the latest and greatest iphone. I could care less about this place and there shift/shady work and installation habits along with there pricing. Everything seems to be second hand. Customer service is terrible installation was terrible and quality was terrible. I wouldn't recommend anyone in there right mind going to this shop. You have been warned! read more

SCAM ARTISTS!!!!! I took my vehicle to get all stock speakers replaced with Alpine speakers , tweeters and amps about 6 months ago, I came in recently because one of my tweeters stopped working, I asked the manager (older middle eastern man with a heavy accent) if it could be replaced, he said yes and that he would not charge me the installation because it was a fast job. I approached the heavy set guy at the counter and asked if I would be able to have the working tweeter to which he replied "yes" that way you can have it as a spare..... When the job was finished I asked the middle eastern man to give me the working tweeter, he replied by stating that both of them were not working and that he had to send them back to alpine, I stated that the guy sitting behind the counter had said that I could go ahead and keep it as a replacement, he replied with a very LOUD tone that he could not give it to me, then I began to wonder if they were actually putting in Alpine products and not aftermarket (he became very defensive), I looked over at the guy at the counter and told him to say what he had originally mentioned to me.... guy got quiet and did not say a word..... So my next question was " how do I know if you are actually putting in the correct speakers in the vehicles? To which they both began yelling "Are you Questioning our Integrity? They took my keys and put them behind the counter, I called the POLICE put them on speaker and all of a sudden gave me my keys, both old tweeters and told me to leave right away. I am taking this further as I found out that my dashboard speakers which are basically hidden where never replaced,,,,, they are scamming people and taking their money, putting in aftermarket no name brand speakers and leaving stock speakers in... STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! Don't let them take your money. read more

Very poor experience. I dropped my car off to get a navi installed and was told that I would get a call as soon as it was done in about an hour. They apparently lost my number so I had to call to find out my car was "ready"... I came back to the shop to pick up my car only to find one of the guys who works there having a huge argument about a customers install. The customer was rude but unfortunately the worker was even more on the rude sude. Insulting and shouting at your customers is probably not the best way to do buisness. After awkwardly waiting for about ten mins for the argument to be over I was finnaly helped. The guy behind the counter proceeded to ring me up without even showing me what had beed done. I asked for my keys to see if the install worked and went to checkit out. First thing I noticed was that my car was filthy. The windows looked like a five year old with a chocolate bar went nuts and my whole dash and console had weird smudges all over. The stereo worked fine so I decided to cut my losses and just get out of there. They charged me 94 bucks ( 30 cheaper than their competition) and I drove away. Two days later the dash kit started warping and there was a weird hissing coming from my speakers... Turns out that they installed the unit incorrectly and used a five dollar kit that warped after two days worth of sun. Taking my car to a real shop to have the kit replaced and re installed. Lesson learned. Stay away from this place, especially in OC where you can find a car stereo place on almost every corner. read more

I was frustrated with my 2005 Jeep's sound system, mainly because I could not play digital music from my phone or other devices. I had a day off, and selected Z Auto Sound mainly because they open an hour earlier than anyone else. I have purchased auto sound systems in the past so I was pleasantly surprised by the absence of hype or pressure on the part of the staff. Based on the information provided, I had several choices and had them install an Alpine stereo which works perfectly with my Android (Samsung) phone's bluetooth function. (there are features that only work with I Phones, but for what I wanted, it is perfect) The improvement is sound was as good as the staff told me it would be. I was so happy with that, a week later I had them install some good quality speakers, and again, the sound improvement was exactly as described. I was so happy with the sound, I decided to trust what they had to say about what a good sub-woofer would do, and I had them install that. The staff communicated well, never got an "attitude" with the numerous questions I posed, and accurately described what does what. They followed through to make sure it all works to my satisfaction. I'd recommend this shop to anyone, it is a good place! read more

Should avoid ever going here. Ill start by saying I have never had this yelp app but after spendin 15 min in this place I had to warn everyone. I had a full system installed here 2 yrs ago when ferris and brian were there ferris gave me a real good deal and ended up installing a free epicenter for my truck when my friend went 1 month later cause I took him. Walked in a few weeks ago to find theres new management so I asked for a basic alarm quote keeping in mind ferris had quoted me $120 2 years prior, the fat guy there now was not only about to fight a customer but tells me its $350 but will not stop pishing me to get the $499 one, I havent said yes yet when hes already tryin to upsale me a backup camera, tv screens, gps and other unecessary items. At the end a quote for an alarm system "basic" , 2 tinted windows and a capacitor the total is $890. I had spent 1300 for full system with installation and a $600 touchscreen deck and a free epicenter on a seperate visit. I had asked a price for 2 new led head lights and he told me $80 for one and $150 for the pair. So after i called a place in santa ana and they charged me $60 for the pair installed. Now since I had financed part of it the first time the new guy tells me I need to add $$$ to the account and that I should run down there quick so they can keep it open if not they charge him per day and gave me 4 hours. Its been at least a month since I walked out of there and he is still callin me at least every other day, just woke up and had a missed call from the place enough is enough.
