My aftermarket Kenwood unit stopped working after I needed to jump start the car. A search of the internet showed that the unit has a 10 amp fuse in the back. I had never removed one of these units, and did not have the correct tool. Went to several dealers. One told me there was no fuse and the unit needed to be replaced. Other shops wanted from $69 to $100 for a "diagnostic test". Called Z Autosound and got an immediate appointment. When I got there, no arguments, negotiations or up selling. Came in to get a buzz noise fixed. The guy didn't even look at it and said I needed a lc2i; and tried to sell me one for $200. They're around $70 on Amazon.. I took it to another shop and they fixed it with a $10 line converter. I'm sure the installer can do good work but come on. You try and sell a part to a customer that doesn't need and charge almost 3x what the consumer can get it at retail price for. It was kind of hard not to laugh when he said that. Came here once to install side speakers he's charged me $150 with my own product and it was only two side speakers, he was really rude seemed like he didn't want to do the job it felt as if he was forced to do it. so I had my system installed 4 years ago and obviously it was out of warranty. the cable melted onto one of my 2 amps. they replaced my amp and re did all of my cables for only the cost of a new amp and at that they let me have the amp at cost. they made the wrong right and that speaks volumes. Sal is great, however if they say an hour expect 5 just because they don't rush which can be a good thing for your system but bad for time. What used to be great work and great responsive service has turned into mediocre work, terrible service at a good price. Took my truck in to the shop for an estimate to add a 2nd battery. Here's a quick review for Z Auto, since im on a customer service hunt: Called Saturday afternoon to arrange a simple amplifier/subwoofer install (I had the parts), and asked when the next available time was. Rep and I arranged for 9AM Sunday. I arrive at the shop, and the shop is closed. I call 5 times, and finally decide to cut my losses before I have wasted more of my weekend. They could have meant MONDAY, but then, on yelp here, the hours say they're open Sundays, their signs are lit and say OPEN, but the placard in front says CLOSED. Let's consolidate our customer-facing information, guys. I suppose I'll have to go to Best Buy to get this installed. While im at it, Ill be snagging the W900BT head unit i've been mulling over from them as well.... you see, it's not just a stereo install that failed, or even hostile customer service loses you, mister store owner--it loses future patronage, word of mouth, and more importantly, faith in local business. read more

I took my tacome in for new speakers and they sold me a set of Alpines at a great price. They even threw in the install, which is where the deal went awry... Not only did their technician try lying to me and telling me that he can't give me the original speakers back (It's a brand new car) because they "will be destroyed during removal" they scratched my rear door panel BAD and told me I was being "rude" when I pointed it out to them. I understand accidents happen and I wasn't going to hold their "feet to the fire" on this one, it is afterall, a truck, but to lie to me than tell me I am rude and have a "bad attitude"??? I can't believe the job these guys did with my car, it looks miraculous. They walked me through replacing my head unit and got me situated with an awesome back up camera and even tuned up my sub! Definitely go check Moe out! EDIT: I started having some issues with my phone connecting, so I decided to take it else where to check it out because I lacked the confidence in the guys that just installed my system for $740 out the door-which included a head unit and kit, and I didn't get anything fancy or crazy like navigation. Anyways, I took my car to another guy who quoted me 500 for the same work, and he's currently replacing my speakers. He just facetimed me and showed me how shitty of a job these guys did and how much rewiring he has to do-wires were exposed and not soldered correctly. These guys will rip you off and do a shitty job. If you don't care about money or your vehicle, this is your place! I was installing a known good but second hand head unit so I swung into this store to get a JVC wiring harness (something any audio store should have on hand). I was helped by Kevin, who disappeared into the back and returned with a jumbled mess of what looked like it had been ripped out of another car. He charged me $20 for the part. As I was leaving he mentioned something about not all JVC wiring harnesses working with all head units, even though they fit. Upon installation of the my head unit, my system did not function. I retuned to the store to exchange the harness however I was told that the harness was fine, and that my head unit was bad. They offered to give me a deal on a new one for for $160 (although I got my unit second hand, its MSPR is $120). I went across the street to D&G Autosound. They told me I had the incorrect wiring harness, my head unit was fine, and reworked the harness for $10. Over priced products with sketchy service. I will not be returning to Z Autosound. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I went to Z Auto Sound to buy a Subwoofer enclosure for my Ram 1500. The guy tells me that I cant just buy a single sub, it would blow my amp. I already kinda wanted to buy another sub, so I agreed to buy the double sub enclosure and another sub. He says he will make me a deal, Sub and box for $249, and he will install for free (not like screwing in a sub is hard at all. I wait 20 minutes for them to screw in both subs into the box. I pull my truck around and he helps me put the sub into my truck and I take it home to install. The next day I am testing out the new subs and they are not kicking at all. There was air leaking from between the sub and the box as if they were not screwed down all the way. I take the subs out of the box and realize that the box was made for 2 10" subs and they tried to modify the box for my 12" subs, and it didn't fit correctly. I also notice that the box is used. There were several screw holes from other subs and amps that were installed. Not to mention, the wire terminals they used were not secured and were popping out. The wire they used was cheap, and they left trash inside of the sub enclosure. I ended up having to modify the box myself to make the sub fit in the hole correctly and I had to seal the sub myself. It took me about 2 hours to fix their work. Disputed the charge on my credit card so they are not getting paid. Do not go here. read more

Installed this nice Pioneer 4100NEX works great installed within the estimated time I was given and they even made sure I was happy w /the install before paying. I had unknowingly brought in a broken aux cable(purchasde from Amazon not z auto sound) so they troubleshot the issue and even gave me a replacement aux cable for free! read more

I came to z auto sound without thinking what i was gonna get, but Martin helped me out massively, i had a couple questions in regards my car sound quality, and the subwoofer i wanted to install, sadly the sub i had is no bueno anymore, but martin recommended some and was able to walk home with a sub in the car!! And he answered my concerns. All around, the service provided to me was absolutly phenomenal! I felt like ive known martin for years lol! Thats how welcomed i felt, and i know i will for sure come back in the future!!! And it really isnt like other places that you go ask, and they make you feel intimated, not even wanting to ask prices or to get out of there. Im happy i chose z auto! Prices arent that bad, its really affordable, cheaper than others out there and you can cleary tell they put care in the work they do.
