I came on a rainy Monday around lunchtime. Tables were scarce but we got one towards the front. The menu range was impressive. There was a lot on the menu that I wanted to try! I landed on the latkes with salmon and toasted challah. The latkes' texture was great, and the salmon was good, though not too plentiful. I didn't love the toasted challah, but it was ok. I recently ordered a white fish sandwich. It had bones in it. Lots of bones. When I called to complain, they agreed to give me a free sandwich. When I called to order it, all they showed was that they owed me one bagel.. They finally agreed to give me a REUBEN. What I got was a disgusting fatty cold sandwich, which they charged me $19 for. I'm still waiting for a call back from the manager. I have ordered from them for years. Are they new owners? I am so disappointed. I don't think they deserve even one star. It has been a few years since I've been to Zaftigs. Is it under new management? The only thing that tasted good was the knish. The blintzes were just okay--flavorless strawberries; the Reuben was cold in the center and the bread didn't seem grilled at all. Very little cheese and dressing and flavorless corned beef. The chopped liver was barely edible it was so salty. And the liver was wet. Yuck. Why was the liver wet? Even the Bloody Mary was bad--just really peppery. I love this place but if you get takeout ask to have the pickles placed in a different container or completely skip them. Our Reuben was completely soggy on one side. Which is never good. This is not the first time this has happened. I can't really understand why the pickle is put in a plastic bag with extra juice. Is it impossible to just add the pickle on the side without the extra juice. Soggy bread is the worst. Really gross. Please stop putting the pickles in bags that leak all over the bottom of the to go container. There has got to be a better way. read more

Came in once for the matzoh ball soup to go -- delicious though I was surprised that there were only two smallish balls in the two-person serving. That was a Saturday morning, and it was mobbed, and I knew I had to return on a weekday. Came back on a Thursday lunch, was able to get a table for 3 right away. And here was just what I'd been hoping for. My grilled pastrami with Swiss was perfect. Excellent proportions of meat, cheese, and mustard with just enough butter in the grilled outside to require a napkin but not a mess. Large crisp pickle, delicious creamy potato salad. Bottomless unsweetened iced tea. My companions had the Reuben and the potato latkes and loved them. Service was very nice. Food a little slow to appear but we had our beverages. I also ordered their herbed cream cheese with bagel chips. The food was delivered in record time and the driver was great. The food was packaged properly. I've also eaten at the restaurant many, many times. There is small counter seating and then ample table seating like a cafeteria with some booths. I will say the tables are very close together. The food is delicious not overly big like some delis. I realize everything has gotten expensive but for $19.00, I was expecting more than 6oz. If you want anything on it like onion, cheese etc it's extra. The better surprise was the bagel chips with herbed cream cheese for $5.00 delish and a bargain! After a trip to Boston, lunch at Zaftigs in Natick on the way home sounded good. In a strip mall, Zafigs is a Kosher style deli. There are both booths & tables . Interior is nice, clean and comfortable. Service was good. We ordered deli sandwiches - corned beef & pastrami. Lots of meat and served with fried & a half sour pickle. When we asked for more spicy mustard, server brought it over quickly. Price was decent - compared to a deli that we go to in Vernon Connecticut, it was pretty reasonable and the sandwiches were bigger. Perhaps more competition in the Boston area keeps the prices lower. read more

I had brunch here with a couple of friends last week and the service was pretty good and the restaurant had a diner/brunch ambience. A lot of diner decor and retro vintage decorations after the food. I thought the chicken and pancakes was decent, but it could've been seasoned up much more specifically the chicken. There were two chicken cutlets on top of the pancake, which were crispy and had a nice breading but no seasoning. The pancakes, however, were very fluffy and a huge serving. I was content with the pancakes, especially after putting maple syrup and the fruit chutney on it. It satisfied my pancake cravings. My friend got the blueberry pancakes and eggs Benedict, which they were pretty content with. Overall, our server was very attentive and answered questions about the food as well as recommendations. I would give this place a four out of five for overall experience with the food. It's not the best or top brunch spot foods I've had. read more

Food is great here in person, however their delivery menu is very limited. Several things that are on their regular menu is not offered on the delivery menu. I couldn't get an iced coffee or orange juice which are both on their regular menu. I also couldn't get the breakfast burrito without bacon because "no modifications on the weekend" not being able to request this with "no bacon" is especially surprising for a Jewish centered restaurant. I understand this place is successful and already pretty busy, especially on weekends. So maybe they think it's not worth their time to offer these choices. I know for me personally, these limits would make me consider ordering elsewhere and I'm sure other people feel the same. I feel like they would get more orders and make more profit if they offered their full menu, especially since they already offer these things in person. When a business makes choices that lowers profit and customers then it seems like an issue with management. read more
