We rolled into this sandwich shop today and it was a delight. From the ample off street parking to walking in and being greeted. It has a vibe of a old soda shop... But I'm going to tell you everybody hustles of this place. The orders come up fast even though it was busy. We sat down at the counter and ordered up a Ryan, it is a signature roast beef coleslaw lettuce, onions, tomato with Swiss sandwich... It had Russian dressing on it and the roll was as fresh as the roast. Beef was rare. Absolutely delicious!. The iced tea was real and tasty and you could add your own sugar to get it to the right sweetness and we added a drink from the refrigerators that will help yourself. The milkshakes look delicious, but we decided to split a cookie which tasted homemade and very chocolatey for the ride home. What a great place with inside and outside seating. Employees that work hard but smile and food that was as fresh as possible. We will be back. read more

We had a great lunch at The Linden Store after touring Wellesley College on a Friday afternoon. It was hopping, but the staff making sandwiches were quick and efficient and the line moved quickly. We were obviously from out of town, but they were patient with us and the vibe was friendly and helpful. I forgot to grab photos but we ordered the Avocado Special (turkey, bacon, cheddar, avocado, lettuce, tomato, chipotle mayo on baguettine); the Linden Special (mortadella, salami, prosciutto, provolone, tomato, marinated sweet vinegar peppers and oil on white bread); and the Thanksgiving (turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mayo, no lettuce on a sub roll). We also grabbed some potato salad and pasta salad from the refrigerator case - both were excellent. I always worry about the potatoes being undercooked in deli potato salad, but these were perfect. I had my eye on some stools at the counter, but the weather was too glorious to sit inside so we snagged one of a handful of picnic tables adjacent to the parking lot. I hope we find ourselves back in Wellesley so we can eat here again. read more

Visiting from DC. Took my granddaughter here as I've wanted to try for awhile. Sat at the counter for lunch and had to reach out to staff to order. (Staff not friendly or welcoming.) Milkshakes were very good, the rest were terrible. My grilled chz was a child's version on white bread cut into fourths. (I ordered rye bread.)I added pickles which I was charged for? My granddaughter order her child's deli on white bun, came on white bread cut into fourths. No chips. (Jersey Mike's has about 8 options for free additions to your delivery sandwich.) it was mobbed. They have a deli that offers a variety of sandwiches and wraps. I had a pastrami wrap that had the meat and Cole slaw. They put a type of mayonnaise on it. The pastrami was a special of the day. To top it off I added a pickle. They are located outside of the main shopping center. You have to look for it to find it. I'm seriously addicted to the Isabella. I eat it at last once a week. Consistently fresh with the ripest tomatoes, and tons of yummy basil. Not to mention the most amazing prosciutto I've ever had ....it melts in your mouth! Every time I come here this place is busy. Do yourself a favor and call ahead! Everything is always fresh and I tend to order the guacamole on my sandwich and is extremely fresh and makes the sandwich well worth the trip. i love the linden store. whenever i'm in the area im there. it's very easy to call and order ahead and i haven't ever waited in line. Even though it's crowded you never feel pushed or pulled. I'm greeted with a smile and they don't rush you out. i love the linden, isabella, and chicken salad. There are tables outside and no one seems to mind they are in a parking lot. The most challenging is parking in the lot at lunch time. This is a well oiled machine of a place and i love the ambiance too. read more

5 stars simply isn't enough for this place. I've been 100 times and it's by far the best sandwich shop around. The menu is enormous, the staff has been there forever working for Greg and they're all excellent and amazingly efficient when it gets chaotically busy. Because it gets so crazy, ordering ahead is absolutely the move at lunch. Ashamed to say I've never had their breakfast options but if it's like anything else on their menu, it's excellent I'm sure. This deli is fanatic and easily one of the best I've ever been to. The line was almost out the door when we arrived at lunchtime on a weekday. They are well staffed and very efficient so the line moved rather quickly. The turkey sandwich I got was so delicious and they have a good drink selection as well. The staff were so friendly and at ease despite how busy it was. I highly recommend getting a sandwich on one of their fresh subs. There is some sitting room inside and outside there are picnic tables. I definitely will make a point to stop by next time I'm in town. read more

Efficient service, good sandwiches, just don't come in person if you are concerned about COVID safety. All the people working here and most patrons do not have a mask on and it is crowded, perfect for spreading airborn pathogens. Everyone is literally shoulder to shoulder, not the best business or public safety practices. And this is fall of 2021 during the delta variant surge. There are many young people here in the unvaccinated group. Mask wearing is more about respect for others, so is this sign warning patrons that enter only if one is willing to risk regard for others? But again this is Swellsely's little bubble, evidence that privilege may be more effective than the vaccine. I will not be returning.
