When I sat at the counter, the employee handed me a menu with the lunch menu facing up. Not realizing breakfast was still available, I ordered from the lunch menu. I was the only diner seated at the counter to do so. I chose a Signature Sandwich, the Patty Melt. Instead of my preferred medium-rare, I opted for medium. The reduced amount of juice from the patties did not prevent the bread from softening. The thick marble rye stayed firm longer than expected, but eventually fell apart. After eating both halves, I had no appetite left for the fries, but for one single fry. The restaurant was filled with regulars. Stumbled upon 2 Mauros after visiting the Ashland state park. We made a note to come back another time because it was busy and we weren't hungry. We have since been back twice! It always seems to have a crowd which must mean good things. The locals know it as the place to go. The inside is quite big and you get seated pretty quickly. The staff are friendly as well. There is a central vintage diner-like area, and a lot of booths and tables. The first visit I ordered off their special menu which I believe rotates. I got the breakfast flatbread which was really interesting and delicious. It was a soft flatbread crust with tomato sauce, eggs, sausage, caramelized onion, and probably some other things I am forgetting. This past visit I ordered the eggs Benedict - also good. But the star of the show was the "healthy breakfast bowl" that my boyfriend ordered. It's like a breakfast chipotle type of bowl with a delicious aioli, eggs, sausage, quinoa. I would definitely get that next time. Their menu has a lot of options, something for everyone, and various coffees as well. They do breakfast and lunch. As a side note their lime Rickey (non alcoholic) is a tasty soda! Prices are along the lines of any breakfast place these days, but not cheap if that's what you're after. Nice cute place that feels as if you're at a mom-n-pop, right down to the insane number of clocks on the walls. Couldn't help but notice they weren't displaying the actual time though. (Just an observation, not a criticism.) I'm not twitching... With no line no waiting, the young guy they had at the host station seemed really confused why we came in... kinda off putting as a first experience, but we got seated within a few minutes. Note though, I've heard that there's almost always a wait on the weekend. We got lucky! Eggs Benedict was average. Eggs were lovely, but slightly over. Great choice if you enjoy a thick cut of grilled ham. Hollandaise was lackluster - thick, not seasoned, but ok. I'd probably order something else next time. Not a deal breaker! My date had the corned beef hash, 2 eggs, and a side of potatoes. He said after the first bite, "we need to come back." And he's a hash guy. Portions all around the restaurant were large, other customers looked really happy, and I don't think we saw any table leave without at least 1 to-go box. Never been in but 10+ orders over the last year or so and perfect every time. A bit on the pricy side but I think worth it.

I normally enjoy the food and service here, so decided to stop by for a relaxing breakfast. Unfortunately, the server soured the experience at the start. She had trouble operating the device to enter in my order, which I usually don't mind since electronic devices can be hard for some people to learn, but she started telling me I was verbalizing my order to her in the wrong sequence (the device was promoting her for things in a different order it seems). I ignored it at first, but she kept doing this. When I asked for a certain size of something, she said they don't have that size. I pointed the size I wanted on the menu, and she said well that's not the size on her device. It was an off putting start to the visit, but tried to just put it behind me once she left. The spinach and cheese egg white omelette was just ok. It hardly had any cheese in it, and was filled with spinach. It didn't taste bad, and quality was good, but it wasn't quite a spinach and "cheese" omelette. At the end, when paying the bill, the server really spoiled things. She seemed a little rushed, so I tried to pay quickly, but stopped on the tip screen which had options for 18%, 20%, and 25%. I normally tip 20%, but given her service I wanted to only give her 15%. I clicked Other, but that didn't have an option to enter a %, only $. She seemed annoyed and redirected me to the 18/20/25% buttons. I asked her how to enter a different %, at which point she abruptly turned the device towards her, tapped Other, and flicked the device back at me. I was taken aback by her aggressiveness. I asked if there is a way to enter a different %, and she said just enter Other as she turned her head away from me. I was peeved at this point. I entered a few bucks and immediately walked out. The server's attitude and behavior doesn't reflect what I've experienced in past visits, so maybe she's new or was having a bad day, but it really ruined my visit and regretted stopping by. My family always says we should visit 2Mauros more often. Unfortunately, it'll probably be a while before any of us visit again. read more

Today we came for breakfast. It was really packed as we arrived but no wait for us. Lots of big groups waiting though. The breakfast took a long time to prepare and the food was barely warmed? The sunny side up eggs have a runny egg white texture.... Not great. Hash browns patties could have been more cooked. 2 sausage patties and 1/2 sausage patties at the bottom??? Sourdough toasts were cold...??? Nothing was Hot? I just didn't get it? My friend's breakfast was exactly the same... barely warmed? Every time I come here and pick something out in the normal menu, then I see the specials menu and I change my mind because there is always something that looks a bit more unique and delicious. Decided to give this place another go and I'm glad I did. We went on a Monday afternoon and it was decently busy. Our serve was on time, but very impersonal, and almost seemed to wait for us to initiate every talking point which seemed odd. We stopped for breakfast on Sunday morning before getting on the road and we were really hungry. Ambiance is clean and comfortable. The food was good, but be ready for a wait. We had to wait 15 mins for a table and I knew at that point it was going to be downhill because two separate people came up to the host to pay for their meal and said "our waitress hasn't been back for 20 mins and we would just like to pay and go". For some reason you can't pay at the host stand which I thought was weird. Also saw a few people looking around clearly waiting for food for what must have been awhile. When we finally got seated we placed our order with our waitress (who was very nice) and then waited half an hour for standard diner breakfast. The food was all delicious. We had the items pictured, two were specials and will probably not be available anymore but the burrito was on the normal menu and was good. I also saved half of it and ate it a day later and it saved well. The restaurant was cute and felt like a family diner. The service wasn't great. We had figured out our drinks and all the food by the time anyone came to our table, and it's not like a place where you sit yourselves and wait to be served. Then every time we needed something (the check, or a drink they forgot to bring) we had to flag someone down because no one had visited us. Also when my partner ordered her drink we both felt like the server was giving her attitude for accidentally ordering a flavored cold brew (which they don't have) instead of a flavored iced coffee (which they do have). This was our first time here and the food was good so I'd give it another go because it may have been an off day or maybe they were down workers, but if we got the same service then I will lower my score. read more

The first thing to note at 2Mauro's is the ambiance. You walk in and are met with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is clean, the bathrooms are spotless, and the decor is unique and adorable. The staff always has a smile and a laugh, really adding to the homely feeling. Now moving on to the food. Overall: I ordered the Patty melt. It is a 1/2 lb burger so make sure you are hungry. I can't quite eat 1/2 lb the way I used to, I max out around 1/4. But the burger is really well cooked, it pairs incredibly with the onions and cheese. The bread is a marble rye, which gives the sandwich and almost grilled-cheese vibe. But the real glue for this burger is the thousand island dressing. It works exactly the way I want it to, combining and enhancing all the different aspects. Additionally the French fries are a work of art. A perfect crisp, with fluffy pillowy insides. That initial crunch followed by a soothing warm potatoey inside satisfies every craving in the book. The total comes in at an incredibly reasonable $15, including fries. That and a coffee brings this delicious meal to an unbelievably affordable $20. The icing on the cake is their incredible service. My waitress was Valerie, who not only was amazingly friendly and kind, but also was very attentive. I personally enjoy when a server is on top of the little things like water and coffee refills, and Valerie is at the top of the game when it comes to service. I would give 2 Mauro's Cafe an overall ranking of 9/10. I would even go as far as to call this one of if not the top tier dining location not just in Ashland, but throughout the surrounding area. read more

Solid breakfast spot. Came in around noon on a Saturday and was seated after about a 15 minute wait, which I would consider fairly quick. Down to 2 1/2 stars. Unfortunately I've had a couple of breakfasts the last couple of months that have been underwhelming. The first time my poached eggs were cooked hard with zero runny yolk and the home fries were grilled almost to the point where they were black. The second time the Irish bangers were great, but the over easy eggs were way overcooked, the corned beef tater tots were completely frozen in the middle, and I didn't realize until I got to work that I didn't even get the beans that were supposed to come with the meal. read more

Not only that, but the french toast was wonderful reheating in a toaster! So if you cant finish it, TAKE IT HOME! My dish was a 2 Eggs Any Style with a side pancake. SOOO MUCCCHHH FOOOD!!! Horrible ventilation!!!! You go in smelling like yourself and come out smelling like you just rolled around in dirty greasy food. My daughter doesn't go there anymore either cuz of that. Used to love coming here when they first opened. Now their avocado toast is super sour/tart and the 'cap' where the stem used to be, was mushed in with my avocado. Almost broke a tooth biting down. My daughter ordered the same thing another time and had the same problem! Geez... get it together 2Mauros. Service was okay, depending on who you get. Got some very sweet waitresses. I should start by letting you all know I'm not a huge breakfast guy. I think a lot of it's been done before, doesn't usually excite me. But boy oh boy did it excite me today. Anytime I go out for breakfast my first question is do you make your own hash. If it's made in house, I'm ordering it. My second question is what's the wife getting, because I'm getting half of that so I can order something different (I'm a little on the chubby side, don't judge). Let's start with the home made hash. When ordering a side I expected it to be half the size of the portion I got. So either they really liked my Patriots sweatshirt or they're incredible generous people, either way I was happy. The hash was much thicker than I'm used to seeing, big flavorful bites of corned beef, perfectly seasoned. You're getting mostly corned beef with just enough potato to call it hash, it's the good stuff. On to my all star waffle. I'm usually a pancake guy but the assortment of fruits caught my eye so I went waffle today. Waffle was light and fluffy, fruit was all super fresh, and the hefty scoop of whipped cream put it over the top. Due to the amount of food in front of me I was unable to eat half of the wife's meal, but don't worry I took a couple bites. She got the fit and lean omelette (she makes better health choices than me) spinach feta egg whites. All the flavors complimented each other, everything was cooked really well. The place was pretty busy, don't expect McDonald's quickness for the food. Everyone was super friendly and we were in and out with ease. Next time I'm going to try the corned beef hash burrito. We think this place is great and we've been there twice so far. Susan our waitress was so nice both times, she has a great smile and is very friendly and eager to please. We couldn't ask for better service and it's great to have another place to eat in Ashland. The kitchen may be a little slow but, they just opened and why are people in such a hurry when they go out to eat anyway? You pay a lot to go out these days so just go and chill and enjoy your time treating yourself to a meal. If you're in a hurry, order take out. Here are some photos of the food we've had so far. The West Union skillet is huge, we sat around the counter and three separate parties commented on it, asked what is was and wish they had ordered it. First time here! It was fabulous. From entering with a happy staff to the awesome meal to the owner walking around to see how everyone's meal is. Not one unhappy person here. It's 100% fresh ingredients too. Fresh fruit, vegetables and look at hubby's avocado multi-grain toast with smoked salmon. My friend, Nina referred me here and I only ate here once and then decided that I would have my husbands 36th retirement party catered by 2Mauro's in November 2021. I had 68 people at hubbys retirement party and everyone was impressed with not one if their food items, but every single one. All organic, best scrambled eggs ever (and yes, there is a difference) best bacon and sausage and fresh fruit and all the firefighters wanted to know where the coffee came from as it was wonderful. They delivered on time and everything was simply perfect? The owner is fabulous and so helpful and flexible with any changes. It could not have gone better than it did. I recently went there for lunch and it was phenomenal. They deserve a SEVEN STAR!! You will never have a bad meal here. read more
