Such a great spot! I am an avid coffee shop and healthy-food spot seeker, and Zalata checks both boxes. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. So many options, all of which looked amazing; I ended up getting the Zalata Caesar and Salted Honey Tahini Cold Brew. Have to say I love that they used their own syrups and fresh ingredients, something that you can truly taste in the food. I went in to work on my computer and eat, but I never felt rushed, even if I took up space for a few hours. I was even offered to try some fresh edamame with their own hot sauce while I worked, which was very good. I'm not from the area, but if I were or nearby, I would make the effort to stop by. I can tell they put a lot of thought behind this spot, from not just the space itself but the little things. Even the app worked really well. I additionally like that it closes later; many coffee shops nowadays close around 3 pm almost every day. It's open until 9 pm most days, great if you need a pick-me-up or want to eat something healthy to hit protein or macro goals. Love the energy, great food, and great staff. Very high quality and delicious coffee! I got the cookie butter and my partner got the salted tahini. The cold brew itself tastes very, very good. It's smooth and lovely. I highly recommend stirring in the cream on top instead of letting it sit. The coffee is good on its own but when you stir in the cream its a whole new experience and it's YUMMY!! The owner was so extremely kind and let us try their hummus, Pita and edamame The hummus was so flavorful. Perfect garlicky bite with an herby flavor and just the right amount of lemon. The pita was light and slightly crunchy. The edamame had a really delicious sauce on top that was very complimentary (and spicy which I love) We can't wait to try other items! Just tested out this place, it was a wonderful experience. The staff were extremely friendly and the vibes inside were beautiful. It feels like you step into a different world when you enter the building. I tried out the saffron chicken bowl with lemon tahini sauce and it was amazing! Dinner here for the first time tonight, and we had a great experience. The atmosphere was clean, welcoming, and had a nice, relaxed vibe. The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. My salad came out with a little too much sauce, and before I even mentioned it, the owner noticed and stopped by our table. He personally had a new one made because he wasn't happy with how it turned out. I really appreciated that level of care and attention to detail. He also brought my friends and me some edamame, which was thoughtful. Everything we ordered was delicious, and every employee we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. The bowl was a large portion and everything was fresh. The tomatoes tasted like real tomatoes, the arugula was crispy, the hummus looked (and tasted) house made, the chicken had a delectable saffron flavor, the matcha was earthy and bold without being bitter, and they even put my name on the bag so cutely definitely going to order again. I came here recently and absolutely fell in love. From the atmosphere, to the customer service, to finally the most amazing drinks and delicious food. I was truly shocked to find such a gem in our farming town of Turlock. Everything I've had so far (I became a regular) has been phenomenal. My favorites are the Mango Matcha & Tuna Sandwhich. My only complaint is that they don't open until 10am lol but nonetheless I still make the trip. 100/10 highly recommend. I grew up in Turlock and I prefer supporting small businesses, so I expected better quality due to the price being relatively high. I ordered a regular matcha latte with cold foam unfortunately the foam tasted like cheap Monin vanilla syrup and heavy whipping cream, and the matcha itself wasn't great. I'm really tired of places that specialize in coffee trying to sell matcha without sourcing real, high-quality matcha because it leaves me as a consumer really disappointed. I also ordered two bowls: one with shawarma steak and one with chicken. The shawarma bowl was great, but the chicken bowl was missing the chicken entirely although I was charged for it. My only complaint is the bowl option is HUGE and pretty pricey. I would have loved it if they had a smaller option that was maybe half the size. I don't like leftovers and wasn't going home so I ended up having to throw half of it away because it was way too much food.
