Alyssa is knowledgeable about espresso, how to achieve a proper pull, listening to her educate a fellow employee in a very kind, warm and educating manner, while providing a thorough explanation of how to and why to do things in a certain manner. Her explanation helped myself understand from a distance about espresso and the do's and don't s to achieve the perfect product. I always ask servers for their recommendations. Alyssa gave us two of her recommendations and gave us complete clarity regarding the smoked vanilla shot with paprika. Knowing my open pallet and the fact that I am very open to earthy and knew things that was a definite must try. When Alyssa served us our flight she sat down and provided a very thorough explanation of where all the beans, flowers and bread are sourced and explained it is basically a taste of Fresno. The flavors chosen for the flight. Banana: very much like banana taffy flavor. Very good and sweet banana flavoring that was muted delightfully when adding the espresso. The lavender: I'm a huge fan of lavender and it was bright, floral and milky, everything was searching for with good lavender flavoring! It was delicious both before and after the addition of the espresso. The almond citrus: it was very almond forward which was bright, and floral also with a slightly sweet finish and almost tasted like eating a scrumptious pastry. The smoke vanilla was served strikingly with a smoked cinnamon stick on top. It was bright, warm, earthy, and slightly spicy on the back end. This drink was my favorite and it the milk helped smooth the notes out completely balancing it. The flight was stunning to look at and taste. Such a cute spot in the shared space with Bespoke bar. Comfy couches, cute bar, excellent presentation. It wasn't very busy on a Thursday morning around 11. We walked up to the order counter where they have a menu explaining all their drinks. The owner helped us with which drinks were on the sweeter side and which were not. My friend and I opted for a banana brulee and a chai. We also ordered one of their bagels with in-house made cream cheese with orange zest. The chai was absolutely amazing, best in town in my opinion. The banana latte was a little on the sweet side for my taste, but the owner graciously added another shot of espresso to my drink to even it out. There are so many interesting flavors on the menu that I will definitely be back to try another one. The bagel was good, but I think I might go with the more savory one if I ordered food again, or maybe try the pan dulce next time. And there most definitely will be a next time! read more

Vibes? Check. Customer service? Check. Quality? Check! Been wanting to try this place for quite some time and finally got around to it! We went a little too close to closing time so didn't get to hang around as long as we'd like, although they didn't make us feel rushed to leave either. But, our short-lived experience was enough to want more, honestly. The look, the feel of the cafe, all the decor, the artwork/paintings, and even the music... we loved it. The staff was super friendly, patient with us, answered all our questions, and gave us great suggestions. Wish we knew we needed a reservation in order to try the Frida Flight but it made sense once she explained to us why. At least now we know for next time!! We both got the Lavender Cream with oat milk (hot) and one pan dulce to share... if we weren't planning on eating afterwards, I'd def had gotten my own because it was delish! Not too sweet, perfect texture and fluff. The drink was really good as well. Not too strong on the lavender that I was still able to taste the espresso through that and the milk. It would have been perfect if we'd gotten to try a few of the flavors at once (the flight) but at least what we ordered didn't disappoint. Because we were there close to closing time, we noticed the staff as they were cleaning and taking down certain decor (frida related) and replacing it with others. At first we were confused until we found out that that spot was actually a bar (Bespoke) by night! Now, I'm really curious to check the bar out some time. My new favorite coffee shop in the downtown Fresno area! The look and the vibe immediately hit you as you walk-in. Plus there's tons of cozy couches and nooks here to read a book, hang with friends, or get some laptop work done. I had two coffee drinks and felt like could fly! I first sipped on an iced americano and then gulped down their delicious, Banana Brûlée latte. I normally don't like hot coffee drinks, but this drink was incredible. It's starts with an emulsion of banana and white chocolate, and a caramelized top. The banana was very prominent, and that paired with the charred top put this over the top. My iced americano was just as smooth, but still had that bold espresso flavor. I got this with two pumps of SG vanilla syrup. My intern ordered the Mayan Xoco. I didn't try this, but it looked delicious and I loved the presentation. Just a heads up, this drink has no caffeine in it. It's based on a Mexican hot chocolate. For now, The Frida Cafe is currently running their coffee shop operation via the Bespoke cocktail bar. They will eventually take over their new spot that's literally inside of the actual historic Water Tower in the Tower District sometime in mid 2026. I can't wait to see the new space! read more

They truly care about their craft and it shows in the coffee. We got the flight with the pan dulce and it was a little over 50 dollars. The owner explained the coffee and asked us what we thought after. We got the lavender cream, banana brûlée, la friducha, and the orange espresso. The banana brûlée was truly the winner out of them all. Soft and not overpowering with banana. The rest were all good. If you get the orange espresso maybe drink that one first cause it does water down because it's iced. The inside is very clean and cozy. I can't wait to be back. This was my 2nd time here! I brought my mom and uncle it was there first time. We went to check out their new drink menu based on casa azul in Mexico City. We ordered orange espresso, la friducha, and white rose. I enjoyed la friducha (cafe de olla w/ oat milk iced). It tasted exactly how it thought it would. The orange espresso perfect for my uncle. A hint of orange taste. The white rose was good too. My mom said the white chocolate was light but she enjoyed the sweetness overall. We ordered 2 empanadas (vanilla and pumpkin) and they were toasty, delicious. The staff was kind! They suggested drinks and check up on us. The ambiance is nice. Mexican/latin music playing. I was actually very excited to try out Frida Cafe. The first thing I noticed when entering the cafe is the nice warm interior. The staff is friendly and welcoming which is a huge plus. But unfortunately the drink that I got was unpleasant for me. I decided to try a recommended drink from the barista and that was a Banana Brûlée iced Espresso. I did substitute whole milk for oat milk as it's their only offered milk alternative. The drink came out to around $10, which is insanely expensive for a latte. The drink itself was underwhelming and I did not enjoy the banana flavor or got any flavor from the white chocolate. I was very disappointed with my drink that I took a few sips and it went straight to the trash. Would I give this place another try....... no. Owner Albee has curated just the most beautiful collection of furniture and artworks that really make the space feel cozy and unique. Aside from that, the presentation of all drinks is absolutely fantastic. I checked out the Mayan Xoco and I thought I wouldn't be one for spicy hot chocolate, but it was so good and creamy with the extra kick in the back of your throat. I just ended up taking them as is. The latte was more warm rather than hot. I really enjoyed the flavor of the banana, however, the coffee flavor was really light and not really coming through. It was kinda pricey for a latte and I'm not sure it was worth the price. The inside is super cute and I did love the interior and vibe of it all. The person taking our order was so nice! He was patient and explained the flavors and everything. I ordered the banana brûlée hot with pan dulce and my friend ordered the same thing, but iced. The flavors, freshness, and presentation were 5 stars! 10/10!! In fact, the whole place was beautifully decorated and smelled really good. The only reason I'm giving a 3 star overall rating is because it took longer than 15 minutes to get our orders and my hot drink was lukewarm. If the flavor wasn't as amazing as it was, I would have been super disappointed in the drink. Not only was it $9, but I paid an extra $1 to make it decaf. The concha pan dulce was $5. Overpriced and not worth the price, but worth the 1 time experience I suppose. Also, there is very limited seating. Don't come here with more than 3 people, especially later in the morning. I ordered the Banana Brûlée iced, and it was packed with flavor--even as someone who's not really a coffee person, I loved it. We also tried La Friducha, which had a very unique taste. Funny enough, we always thought it was black, but it's actually green, which made it even more interesting and memorable. For the kids, we ordered the Mayan Xoco, and it was amazing as well--definitely kid-approved. One thing we were a bit unsure about at first was whether kids were allowed since it's inside a bar, but yes--it is kid-friendly. If you don't have a sweet tooth, you would (probably) still love it! I think this one is an absolute must-try if you happen to be in the area & I would come back for this drink alone!! Even after 30 minutes they gave it to us in a to-go cup saying that they are close to closing (it was 1:30 and they close at 2) -the drink was lukewarm and mediocre As a one and done: NOT justified.
