Although, our second trip we asked to enter our information for the purchase and the cashier said he had it, as we were confused how we asked if he was sure, it then said he would enter it at the end. Before I would make such an important purchase as an engagement ring, I had to have a high level of trust. Umit and Dean worked the front counters and their Mom over saw them as she did paperwork. Dad was in the back actually working on jewelry. I knew nothing about diamonds when I first started talking to Dean on my second trip to their store in Eden Prairie. Dean spent at least an hour teaching and answering my questions. When I left that day I felt very confident in my knowledge about diamonds. When I returned on my third visit, I made my selection of ring and diamond. When I gave my ring to my girlfriend, she became my fiancé. When she would show that ring to anyone, I became known as the diamond expert. I would actually become embarrassed. This elevated status continued a few years till we executed our pre planned upgrading of my wife's diamond. I told my wife I was bringing her ring into get polished. When I brought it home a couple days later, same ring different diamond. The whole show started over again. I had become a diamond Rock Star. I held this status a few more years till we upgraded again. This time we wanted to hit it out of the park and we did that. Umit and Dean kept their eyes open for the next diamond. About six or eight months later Umit gave me the call. "Ive found the diamond" "Its gorgeous". I am now a diamond legend. Strangers will walk up and comment on my wife's diamond. If a stream of light hits the ring in a room you see the reflections on the wall. Wedding Day Diamonds retains and trains their associates in their same family values. You will not receive better service or value from anywhere. Stop and think about the old saying. A diamond is a girl's best friend. I gotta believe the guy who gives her the best diamond has to be her next best friend.

I had some pieces of jewelry appraised by Richard Mark of CoolBlue Diamond in July 2013 and had a…read moredecent experience. He seemed personable, if not a little cocky. I had mentioned at the time that I was probably going to purchase an emerald cut diamond soon. He said he could beat any vendor's price hands down. So a few months later I was in the market for a diamond. I had been doing a ton of online research for the best deal. I decided to give Richard a chance to see if there were better deals to be had. I visited him a couple of different times to view stones he sourced for me and was working with him on a custom mount. After many emails, several phone calls, and 2 appointments it didn't seem like he was listening to what I wanted. For example, I was asking for a diamond depth of 57 - 64mm to give me a little more spread and he only brought in stones with depths between 68 and 71mm because HE thought they were better. I also wanted a squarish emerald cut but not as square as an asscher cut, I only saw 2 of 7 or 8 stones that were like this, the rest were either straight asschers or long emerald cuts. Additionally, he kept showing me stones that were above my budget and were EGL certed instead of GIA, which I preferred. Prior to meeting with him I had found a lovely stone online from Union Diamond. The purpose of meeting with Richard was to see if he could source the same stone for less or a similar one. He could't and after seeing the stones he was sourcing I became more and more convinced that Union Diamond was the way to go. When I mentioned that the stone I was originally hoping he could source was larger, GIA certed, better specs, and less expensive he got upset and said there was no way that was possible but if it was then I should just buy it online then. When I asked if we could still work together on the mount he hesitated, stuttered, and then said sure. But then told me that his jeweler doesn't like to be creative so I'll need to have my design concrete (I had previously sent ideas for what I wanted). Isn't that what he or the jeweler is supposed to help me with? Anyway, this was several weeks ago and I haven't heard from him. I didn't expect to but what terrible customer service. Once he found out he wasn't getting a fat check from a diamond purchase his demeanor completely changed. Sad. I will never go back and cannot recommend CoolBlue Diamond. You're better off buying online. Union Diamond was amazing to work with and they have a 30 day return policy. They also have a custom design department who will work with you whether you buy a stone from them or not. I ended up purchasing my stone from them and couldn't be happier. CoolBlue who?

Michael Hill told me that their certification company was better, they use GSI. Michael Hill offered me a .75 karat, color G, clarity SI1, ideal princess cut diamond that matched the competitors ring, as well as in price. 5 months later, I had the ring sent to AGS for certification, and AGS rated it a color H, clarity SI2, and wouldn't even call it an ideal cut. Any store that uses GSI to rate their diamonds is selling diamonds rated higher than the industry standard (AGS is in the top two). Feel free to do some internet research on your own if you would like additional assurance! I do not recommend this location to anyone! They either lied to me, or are in the dark on the quality of their certification company.
