Got a call today to pick up my wedding bands, I arrive at 750pm. Before heading to store I Looked online for closing time and it said 8pm. This is the 2nd time I came to this store where this store has closed before its closing time. I work until 7 and rushed to pick up my bands as it was sent out for polish and cleaning for over 2 weeks. This is unacceptable. I worked In retail for over 20 yr as a store manager, and know for a fact that a store cannot close prior to its closing time no matter how slow business is for that day. You call yourselves a jewelry store,but I learned a hard lesson that u go to a "jeweler" not a chain store if you want quality.. I bought my wedding band here,out of the case since I was eloping but the ring was pretty&simple. My wedding was 11/22, by 12/22, a stone fell out of my ring,thank God we bought the plan. Took it in New Years Day,got it on the 17th. By 2/16,stone fell out AGAIN. IM SORRY,BUT THIS SHOULD NOT BE. I WAS SOLD SOMETHING PRETTY OF NO VALUE. I don't want it,would like my $$ back,because clearly who wants to do this a 3rd time,knowing there will be a 4th. Can only exchange or get store credit,which I had to call to find out as the district Mgr didn't have the decency to call me to tell me,I had to call corporate AGAIN 3 days after showing up there. I was very excited about the event they were having today. I made the appointment a month ago. Unfortunately I walked out of there with no ring. The customer service from the vendor that was there Crystal was unacceptable. She wasn't finished with me and took up with another customer who already had a representative but was obviously new. My husband and I went to Zales in Middletown to exchange a bracelet that was bought on Zales.com. They didn't have a suitable piece to exchange it for so we requested a refund instead. The sales woman took the receipt and after a little while came back and said the bracelet wasn't ready to be returned yet, the order isn't in the system and to come back in a week and it should be there by then. What?? Not ready to be returned? I've never heard of anything like this. Of course our order is in the system. We have a receipt, item was delivered to our house and the credit card was billed. This isn't 1943, we have computers now. She showed us where the customer service number is on the receipt, told us to call them, gave us back our bracelet and went off to help another customer. So my husband called customer service right there in the store. In the mean time, while he was on hold, the store manager came out of the back room and we asked if she could help us. She took the receipt and this time told us that she sees the order in the "old system" but not the "new system" (like that would mean anything to someone who doesn't work for Zales). She too told us there was nothing she could do and to come back in a week. So after a lot of questions on our part and some snippiness on her part we finally got her to pick up the phone and call her help desk and guess what? The two of them were entering our order number into their "new system" wrong. Our order was in their system all along, like we already knew, and if we had left and come back in a week like they wanted us to do it would have been the same runaround then too. Now, I don't have a problem with these two ladies not knowing the ins and outs of their "new system". Maybe it was just brought online last week and they are still getting used to it. It was the stupid story that the bracelet wasn't ready to be returned yet and the total lack of willingness to find out what the problem was and to fix it that got me. Unfortunately I beg to differ. I walked into the store shopping for diamonds for my wife on our wedding anniversary. After perusing the displays for about 10 minutes, not a single sales representative bothered to see if I needed any help. Maybe I didn't look like I could afford their wares. I stood by and watched other customers get waited on within seconds of walking int the store, I even wandered past idle sales persons who just looked at me like I was a potential robber. I spoke to a manager Jeff Miller, at the Zales store in Middletown NY who I spoke to about an issue that my son had with zales.com and a Christmas present that he bought his girlfriend, he assured me that my son could bring it to Zales to return it and get something else, a refund, it would be no problem. Well he went to the zales at Palisades Mall in Nanuet, NY tonight and the two women that helped my son did nothing but laugh at him and give him more problems on top of what he was already dealing with. The reviews for Zales aren't very good and I wish we had seen the reviews before my son purchased his gift! Now we have to deal with the non-existent customer service online and see how far we get. I would not give this store any stars. I had ordered a custom ring in June2020. Never recieved it. Had spent many hours on phone with many Zales associates in order to get a refund ,took no lie five months. They send me a fifty dollar gift card for my " inconvenience ". My husband wants to purchase a piece of jewlery as a xmas gift. I have $50 for Zales go there. He and my son were treated horrible by Jeff. Jeff looked at them a certain way. My son said he was so uncomfortable and wanted to leave but my husband is the type of person that wont be rude or walk out of the store.He spent more then just the $50 he had on gift card.Just because he is mexican and my 17 year old wears a hoodie doesnt mean they are bad people. My friend and I were Christmas shopping here and were looking for specific pieces of jewelry. We walked around trying to get a salespersons attention and every time someone would see us walk up to them they'd turn around. We were blatantly being ignored by every employee. We finally got someone's attention because they were standing behind a display case so they couldn't walk away from us. She rolled her eyes when we asked where we could find something. This was the most awful customer service I've ever witnessed. I'm guessing it's because we're in our early 20s maybe they thought we couldn't afford their store. Happy to help until they make their commission. customer service goes out the door when you need to bring jewelry back for poor craftsmanship. Bought ring 7 months ago, been sent back 4 times.
