This was my first visit, I went with my wife to have a few repairs done to two watches, a chain, and two of my wife's rings - including a resizing on her wedding ring. Jeff, the gentleman behind the counter, was incredibly helpful in determining the best course of action, and the price of all repairs was extremely reasonable! Hats off to Rob, the craftsman who actually performed the repairs/alterations - our items literally have never looked better! Have you ever wanted a friend "in the business"? The reason I started going to the Diamond Mine a little over 15 years ago was because, quite frankly, I was sick and tired of the so called "professional" jewelers in the mall who hire twenty year old know nothings to run their cases and throw out sales pitches. Guess who you deal with when you go to the Diamond Mine? Rob, or Jeff. They're the owners. If you've been there, you've met them. Nobody else runs their shop, not even during the mayhem holiday season. Got a problem? Guess who you're going to talk to to fix it... the owner. Oh, and there's also Frank. Frank is their franchise jeweler who does all their repairs on site and in full view of the clientele. Guess how I know Frank. That's right... he's the only person who ever touched my jewelry. No out-of-house repairs or cleanings. And that's all there is to it. I know these guys... not because they're my friends, but because they're my jewelers. So now I can say I know a guy (or three). The only bad thing I can say about this place is that I had to give it up when I moved to MA a few years back. Luckily I still have family in the area, and I can stop in during the holidays. Last minute holiday shopping is never a problem with these guys. They're always stocked, and are fully connected with the Diamond District in NYC for any out of the ordinary requests you can't find locally. Bottom line... go here. Make friends. Build a relationship with these guys. They'll remember your name. They'll remember you and appreciate you. They'll do the little things for free, just as a thank you for your business because they know you're a loyal customer. In terms of the jewelry... listen: I'm a man. I don't wear a ton of jewelry and I don't always know what my wife likes. These guys have never steered me wrong and my wife adores everything she's ever bought or received from here. That's another reason to shop there... they will help you out if you're a dummy like me. There's no B.S. No sales pitches. Your woman will not be disappointed. The Diamond Mine is as good as it gets!!! I am an American living in Germany and was looking for a custom made wedding band to go around my engagement ring. I was told by 3 different jewelers in Germany it was not possible. I went to see Jeff and not only did he make the ring for me, it fit perfectly flush to my engagement ring, the craftmanship was extraordinary, the price was unbeatable AND he did it all for me in 4 days while I was back in the states visiting family so I could take it back home with me! The guys here were very friendly and nice. I explained how I wanted my ring altered and they assured that they could do it. They said it's what we do and promised it would be perfect. When I picked it up it looked absolutely gorgeous. I love it. The experience was great. The store is clean and well kept. They alway offer to clean and steam my ring when I come in. I originally went to this store because I was tired of the same old story from each shop in the mall. Of course Jeff and his people are friendly because they want you to buy something! Whether you are friendly and they remember you and you spend lots of money on an engagement ring, it doesn't matter to them. Their products are not what you think. Quality jewelry doesn't fall apart within 2 months. A quality store doesn't set up a whole new ring set after the original ring fell apart and "replace" it with an enhanced diamond, poorly resized rings (after claiming they came in your size straight from the dealer) and the completely wrong wedding band. They also had no information on the center stone or products in general. I was appreciative of Jeff's help before he got greedy and lied about everything he possibly could. They completely ruined our wedding since this happened about three days prior. A quality store with nice owners doesn't take advantage of their customers. If you don't know much about jewelry (diamonds), they could be telling you one thing, and selling you a totally different item. Just because they are nice and smile and are friendly, doesn't mean they aren't scamming you behind your back. If this is your kind of place, then best of luck to you. read more

I had a long standing relationship with Rob and Jeff for many years but then realized the true colors of this business. For over 10 years I bought my jewelry for my ex- wife from them, engagement ring , wedding bands and so many other items. Only to find that most of what they sold me was garbage. Too add injury to insult, when I got divorced, I met with Rob to sell my wedding band back ( we buy used gold)....Rob refused to even look at the piece, he sold it to me from his store and basically acknowledged that it was garbage by not offering me a penny for his own recommended jewelry....Rob and Jeff lure you in with fake kindness and caring.... ignorance and karma catch up because I am getting ready to buy a new engagement ring and surprise, Diamond Mine is not getting the sale which they would have had if I was treated with diginity during a difficult period.......wake up boys...dont disrespect and show your true colors when you think the money train has derailed, dumb business practices. read more

Exceedingly friendly while making sale. But, after third time sending my wife's engagement ring back for repair, I expressed my disappointment (politely I may add). The owner Jeff proceeded to insult my wife and I. While my wife was in tears he even told her someone needs to teach her to shut up. I was shopping around, trying to sell or trade in my gold and buy wedding rings. Out of all the jewlery stores I went to the man who "helped," us was the most rude and condescending person I dealt with. He stood there chatting with soneone while we waited and helped another customer before us, despite us being there first. When he looked through my gold, he didn't test anything. I had it tested for karat at multiple places, he just guessed at it. He said some wasn't worth anything, ( that was 14 karat) and offered us cash for some that tested as mostly metal. Clearly didn't care and didn't know what he was doing by sight alone. He then gave us the lowest offer $400 cash/$500 trade in for over $1000 worth of gold (at 70% of value.) My soon to be husband was debating between platinum or a cheap titanium ring. He works doing manual labor and isn't sure he wants to spend the extra $ for platinum. The salesman was rude and unhelpful about this too. So my advice to anyone shopping here is to dress up very nicely if you want this guy to take you seriously. I was dressed for the gym and my fiance was out cutting the lawn. I guess if you don't appear to have money, you must not. This salesman lost out on the commision for two platnum bands, as we purchased them elsewhere. We shop with people who are polite and helpful. read more
