Fort Collins Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram - Internally cracked taillight

Off the…read moretop of my head, scratching the paint on my pristine 1997 Viper and cancelling the lifetime warranty on my 2012 Durango without even explaining what was happening or why - literally just handing me a check - are examples. But I never wrote a review, I just tried to work it out directly. Currently, I've exhausted "working it out directly" the problem of a factory defect in my $75,388.42 Durango. Apparently neither the 3 year/36000 mile factory warranty, nor the $6986 extended warranty will cover it. Their claim is that I put cracks on the inside of the taillight and warped it (see photos). "Wear and tear" they say. Yeah, right - it would take an almost magical impact to warp the taillight plastic and fracture the inside without so much as a scratch on any of the surrounding paint. I have tried to work this all the way from the service desk people to the general manager Nick Weir. Do you want to buy a vehicle from dealer where they won't fix legitimate factory defects, and even when they do, it takes a fight just to get them to do the right thing?

I bought an extended warranty 3 years ago through this dealership. The truck misfired and had an exhaust leak. I had my truck towed in on March 3rd, 2026 and was told the repair was not major and should be completed within about a week. I made it clear I rely on my vehicle for business and needed to stay mobile but was assured it wouldn't be long, so I got a rental through Hertz. I still have the rental (3/24) Communication has been extremely poor. I can never get a straight answer. I have sent over 35 emails and had to call more than 20 times just to get updates. I also had to ask over five times just to receive an itemized breakdown of the repairs. After finally reviewing the estimate, I noticed what appears to be overlapping labor charges for tear-down and diagnostic work on top of the main repair, which raised additional concerns. My guess is they are not compensated through warranty, so they created enough charges so I will need to come out of pocket to cover their labor. The final estimate came in at nearly $7,000, while the warranty only covered $3,500. The warranty covers rental costs but was maxed out, so the rental will be out of pocket. The warranty company later offered an additional $1,000 and only $400 toward the rental, which still leaves a significant out-of-pocket cost. The salesman had told me there would be no out of pocket costs other than a deductible. I was only provided a partial warranty document at the time of sale, and the dealership later confirmed they also only had the declaration page on file as well and not the full contract. "Since only the first page was saved in the deal, I logged into the Alpha warranty site to download a copy. I re-scanned the copy now and replaced the declaration page with the originally signed document" I was also told the salesperson involved is no longer with the company due to issues with contracts. Instead of acknowledging that the salesman made a mistake, I was instead told "It was just you and him in the room, so it's hearsay" The GM took no responsibility or accountability for his former employee. To say I am upset would be a complete understatement! 21 days without a vehicle and from what I've been told there's still no completion date in sight?! What is going on here? Poor communication, constant excuses and unethical practices. This place is a money pit. I would avoid it at all cost!

A $9,500 Car with $9,000 in Repairs and Still Broken - Avoid This Dealership…read more I bought a 2013 Subaru Outback from Deffenbaugh Subaru for $9,500, and it immediately became a massive financial nightmare. While I understood the vehicle was sold "as-is," the fact that I had to sink $9,000 in repairs almost immediately proves they do not perform honest inspections. I essentially paid double the value of the car, and it is still a lemon. Here is the breakdown of what happened right after purchase: The "AT Oil Temp" Nightmare ($2,500 and no closer to resolved) The very next day, while driving from Colorado to Nebraska, the "AT Oil Temp" light flashed on. I spent $2,500 at a shop trying to fix the transmission issue (replaced valve body and temp sensor), and the fix did absolutely nothing. The light still comes on to this day. Failed AC System ($4,500): Shortly after getting the car, the entire air conditioning system completely failed. Fixing it required a staggering $4,500 out of my own pocket. Compressor pulley and coil fix. Front Brakes, Rotors, & Bearings ($2,000): I had to completely replace the full front wheel bearings, front brakes, and front rotors pretty shortly after I bought it. I had specifically asked them to check the brakes before I bought it, and they generically said they were good. To make matters worse, the car now constantly squeaks just driving down the road, leaving me wondering what will break next. The dealership's customer service was just as broken as the car. When I called immediately after buying the vehicle for that transmission issue (as it happened the day after), the staff gave me the "as-is" bullshit response. On my second call, I finally got a manager who was actually nice about the transmission issue. However, on my next call, I couldn't get back in touch with him, and the rest of the staff completely went right back to their unhelpful BS. Deffenbaugh Subaru showed zero integrity once they had my money. Save your wallet and your sanity--go somewhere else. I will not be going here again.
