I have officially become obsessed with Zankou and here's why. So my brother was having a going away party because he was moving so we ordered the feast for catering. Let me tell you the amount of food is insane and so good. Everyone loved it. Now here's where I was thrown off. I was like oh cool it comes with a tray of falafel lemme try one. I sense that after I preventively asked, do you have mom's lentil?Super available as the cashier , checked and said yes. After about 10 or 12 minutes and watching several people behind me that ordered get their food, i asked about it. The guy behind the counter gave me some weird excuse that the soup takes a little bit longer late at night. Everything here is better with their garlic sauce The Half Chicken lunch plate with 2 sides (hummus and cucumber salad) over basmati rice is my go to, with an extra garlic sauce. Their chicken is so moist, tender and juicy. Sorry, by the time I remembered to take a picture, I was almost done with my plate. That said, I just took screenshots from their menu of what I recommend. I also ordered takeout for the first time of their Tri-Tip Shawerma bowl. I ordered a bowl. I didn't want anything big or crazy and ate it on their patio. The bowl was objectively 80% rice, a little bit of chicken and my sides were hummus and tabouli. There was maybe a tablespoon of chicken. It was really disappointing. I ate everything except most of the rice. They placed the order with your location instead of the one closest to me at my work and when I saw it I canceled right away. Yet they still charged me for the order as your store apparently accepted it in the 2 seconds from when I placed it. Just top notch recipes all the way around. I would come back just to order some sides of the sauces.
