I know it's not a big deal, but I just assumed at a place that presents itself as an upscale bar, with a "chef", that would be the case. Oh well, I paid over $8 for 3 ice filled pints of Diet Coke. I'm just saying it would have been nice to have been told that by the bartender. Then this guy goes on about he can't do that and that he has free music so that should be enough and he'd go broke if he gave away free refills of Coke! He was all huffy at that point and I have no idea what he was talking about. So to calm the situation I asked him about his live music and began to tell him that I am trying to rebrand the hall at our local VFW and he cuts me off to snap at me, "Good luck with that! Try to get 25 people in that place! Ha! Ha! Ha!" as he turned and was walking away from me. I was in udder shock! What?! It's the local VFW Hall and I'm trying to help out our veterans?! My entire point was before he cut me off, the hall holds way more people than his little, bitty place and I wanted to offer the hall so he can book larger acts. Oh well! His loss! Not really sure what this guy's deal is but it seems like my experience is a common one with him! Read the other reviews! Wow! In this day and age an owner shouldn't treat customers like this. Especially after they just spent good money in his place. SMH. Never again! Plenty of other options in the area to spend my money.

They even have a "sweet steak sandwich" on the menu which I assume is just bread & meat covered in low grade BBQ sauce like Tony's. I took my chances & ordered a suppa philly steak, buffalo chicken fries, fried snickers, fried twinkies & some "suppa punch." The overall prices were on the medium-high end with the sandwich costing $14, but included no fries or drink. Customer Service: Took awhile to get my order out of the door. Placed order around 12:30pm & they didn't finish it until around 1:05pm. UberEats driver got there around 12:45pm & waited 20 minutes for a relatively small, simple order. Buffalo Chicken Fries: Appearance - No wonder these were $7 because the portion is big. They make no qualms about using cheap looking, thick buffalo sauce & grinded up dark meat. There's seemingly not a breast in sight. It honestly feels like they are hiding something since I've never seen anyone bother grinding chicken before. It seems to work out for the fries though since you'll get grounded bits in every bite. Taste - Slight spice in every bite. That builds up as you parse through it. Eventually you feel the full on burn. The buffalo sauce is weirdly slimey. Chicken tastes more like pork which makes me even more curious as to why they ground it up. The copious amounts of sauce makes everything moist, but it's thickness keeps it from soaking in too much & making it too moist. They attempted to put some powdered sugar on it & it got a bit messy so they threw in an extra one. 3/5 Taste - It seems like a good amount of cream escaped when it was fried. The second one fared better. Super sweet. I honestly don't think they even needed the powdered sugar. It's enjoyable in small bites. 3/5 Deep Fried Snickers: Appearance - Poor Snickers...lightly fried so that it doesn't melt, but did anyway. They should probably deep these things in a thicker batter then freeze it instead of doing it all fresh. That way they can fry it longer. 2/5 Taste - It's a snicker dipped in cake batter. Not much to it, but it does lose that strong flavor of nougat & caramel. Everything is more mild with the batter's flavor taking over. I can't see myself trying more of these. 3/5 Suppa Philly Steak: Appearance - Oh my god this thing is MASSIVE! Copious amounts of steak with a light layer of lettuce & tomato. For $14 they give you everything you'd expect. There's small amounts of chopped green pepper mixed into the meat. 5/5 Taste - Hands down one of the best Philly steak sandwiches I've ever had. The meat is moist, seasoned almost flawlessly & smells insanely good. The sandwich itself somehow manages to stay together as I wrestled with it, letting only a few strands of lettuce slip away. The half slice tomatoes were the most troublesome when biting it. Maybe try pureeing or dicing them. You can't get enough, but at some point you realize you have to stop. Even then, once you stop you still have a massive amount left. 5/5 Overall: Shugga Shack is a great sandwich shop. Outside of the sandwiches it's hit or miss. A few tweaks to the recipes would fix sme of their issues, but I definitely see myself coming back frequently for the sandwiches. Among these are fun stuff including live music. The beer is the main attraction of course, and this has a surprising amount of variety. As was our luck we got here when there was some kind of festival. It had a cover charge to get in and see some live music. They let you come and go as long as you had a wristband. At the bar there wasn't that bad of a line. We ordered a few beers, which is the only thing they have on the menu. It's about $5 a pint for most beers. There's a good amount of styles. I liked the Holsteiner the most of what we had. This was refreshing, and hoppy but not a lot. Best things of course is the beers. It often has events going on like music and trivia, so come back often and have fun. There's no food here, but you can get some at the restaurant called The Loft, which is upstairs.
