Vibes and service- 10/10. Everyone was so sweet and kind. Building- this place looks small from the outside, but it's actually huge and so cute inside! We had book club here and never felt like we were crammed next to anyone. Food- I had the avocado toast and it was delish! A friend had the burrito and liked it. Love that they have a water station. Coffee itself- I wasn't impressed. They have iced coffees but it's just iced coffee with a splash of syrup. It was okay but I wouldn't be running back to this place for coffee alone. I tried a couple sips of others drinks and still wasn't impressed. I still think it's a great place to visit and we had a good time! read more

Very cute coffee shop in Mayport. It would be a great spot for a baby shower or wedding shower. It's decorated well and has a cute outdoor area for anyone wanting to sit outside and enjoy their coffee. I ordered an iced honey cinnamon latte that had great flavor. My kids shared a cinnamon roll and had an OJ. I was surprised that a small Tropicana OJ was $4.50- feel like I could get a large jug for that at the store. This is my first hopefully only negative review. I love independent coffee, shops and this one would be no exception. Incredibly friendly crew and a pretty decent product. We both ordered the house specialty drinks. A 16 oz Matcha and a 12 oz latte, which with tip it came to $25. Before the drinks were made, I gently ask would it be OK for us to consume some chicken salad that I had made at home. I got reassurance from all three staff members that it was fine. I don't usually take food into a restaurant, but we were riding our bikes, I packed a little food and the decision to stop at 1985. Coffee was spur of the moment. Our drinks were delivered, my wife loved her Matcha. I had only gotten a sip out of my coffee when we were approached by a manager told we could not consume outside food. I calmly appealed to the manager, explain the situation and was told that there was no wavering on the rule. I don't drink coffee on an empty stomach so I threw away my $9 cup of coffee and we left the café. I would never carry another restaurant food into a restaurant nor would I openly consume food that didn't buy there unless there was some extenuating circumstances. I leave this review in hopes that the manager may consider in the future, be a little more flexible when the situation calls for it. Met a friend and fellow yelp elite here Saturday morning. We both tried the seasonal peppermint latte and got a baked good to pair with our hot caffeinated beverage as well. Upon ordering, the staff asks if you would like your pastry heated up (I loved this) yes of course; please and thank you. Very much appreciated as we went from summer temps last week to winter temps overnight (no fall) We picked a table in the open, spacious dining room area to sit and wait for our coffee and baked dish. The food and drink arrived at a decent time and both were hot. The seasonal peppermint beverage was not very peppermint-y at all but honestly it was still good. I was hoping for more of a seasonal outcome but the latte still hit the spot. My banana bread was good. Nothing outstanding but again it's banana bread. I would order it again. As we sat, the coffee shop got more and more busy. Seems like this establishment has good chi and flow! One major downside: parking. There are maybe 6 spots to the side of the shop. I got there when it wasn't busy at all and yet there was still zero parking. I checked the lot behind the building and they had some spots but was unsure if it was safe to park there without getting towed since that is a separate business. I ended up making my own spot after circling the place twice not knowing where to park without getting towed. When it was time to leave, 1985 was packed. I noticed someone made their own parking spot right behind my car blocking me in (giant black suv) Thankfully my friend gave me a ride to our next destination which was close by. After an hour, when 1985 had just closed for the day, we went back to check on my car and it was not blocked in anymore. I would definitely recommend this coffee shop but strongly suggest carpooling if you can. read more

I love this little gem in Mayport! I almost don't want to post about it because it's such a special little spot, but in my love for yelp and all things local ..... The secondyou pull up you are welcomed to this fresh and warm and inviting little home turned coffee house. It's an open concept with lots of community tables as well as small ones for visiting. There are even tall counters with plugs to charge up and do some work. There is an adorable outdoor patio as well. I love the way it's decorated...clean, comfortable and charming. Now what you came here for....THE COFFEE!!! ONE WORD: YUMMMMMMMMM It's a hard decision what to get as everything is unique and good. I reallyappreciatewhen the batista listens to what you like and then gives her suggestions. I had 3 and I was ohhh..ing and awwww..ing at what to get! I decided to try an Iced Latte with the Dutton May syrup. It was pretty good, though the flavor wasn't as strong as I'd hoped--it almost tasted like an oat latte. I do appreciate that the syrups aren't overwhelmingly sweet, though. I'd rate it 6/10. They have some intriguing seasonal drinks right now that look worth trying, so I might give one a go next time. Cute new coffee shop! I went at the end of April. Yes, I'm slow at reviews - eek. Sorry! Buuuuut ... we went on a Sat morning at about 8:30 am. The place is definitely bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside! Also, cute outdoor area, pet friendly. Funny thing, I'm not really a coffee drinker. Everyone else I know mostly is. Finally made it out to try 1985 Coffee and it didn't disappoint! I had the Toasted Coconut Iced Latte and my husband had the same but added mocha - both were delicious. We also had a few pastries but I forgot to take pictures (blueberry donut, cheese danish and blueberry muffin) - all were incredible. Love that they serve basked goods from local bakeries (including Donut Shoppe donuts!). They have prepared food options, as well. The inside is spacious and very inviting - nice and airy decor. They offer golf cart parking on the turf on the side of the building, and have a cute little dog-friendly patio out back. The staff was great and service was wonderful! Cute new spot near the beach off Mayport Road. 1085 Coffee is located at 1985 Mayport Road across from the Racetrack gas station. It is golf cart friendly from Atlantic Beach via the back roads. There's plenty of room for group coffee meetings, coffee talks, breakfast connects. Parking is a bit limited so get there early...or you can probably park at the Racetrack and walk over too if you are getting to-go. There's plenty of bike parking if you live close by and you'll be met with a smile from the ladies behind the counter. I had the avocado toast (pictured) and can't wait to try the cottage cheese toast when it is back in stock (they were out). They definitely have a newness vibe to work through so be sure you give them some grace while they get used to their systems and breakfast rush! Looks like a sweet place and the ambience is nice, but that's where it ends. The coffee was not good. Better quality at Dunkin or Starbucks. Food was eh too. I should have known when the avocado was the spread you buy at Costco and just some random bread. Wife's egg bites tasted like they didn't rinse the soap out from cleaning the pan before making the egg bite. Owner was rude and made sideways comments about my kids that were playing nicely while we ate to another patron. Will never be back and you shouldn't go. read more

We were super excited to have a coffee shop close and couldn't wait for this place to open we weren't as impressed as we had hoped we went to the grand opening and I got an iced coffee with a splash of almond milk and my boyfriend got a cortado and neither of us loved the taste but decided we would give it a bit and come back when they were more established so we went again about a week ago and I got 3 shots of espresso iced with a splash of almond milk and again the coffee was not great you would expect espresso to taste a little strong and it just wasn't... I love trying new coffee spots in Jax and was excited to try this one. Food was overpriced for one piece of avocado toast and the coffee was alright. They make their own homemade vanilla syrup which is awesome but you can't really taste it. Seems like a great place for studying or if you work remotely. read more
