Cheese pie and beef, onions and pepper pizza
    Gladys R.

If you are ever in summit and you need to grab a delicious slice of pizza this is your place. There are many pizza restaurants around this area but the pizza at this place is really good and tasty. The Restaurant area is very clean and there waiters are very friendly. I tried their cheese pie and beef, onions and pepper pizza with green tea.

Damn you, Yelp. We made the trek to Summit to hit Pizza Vita (ranked #18 of 25 in the 'Pizza Power Ratings') and you misled us to believe they were open since noon. Nope - 4:30pm. But we're in the area and hungry (and tired, and hungover... your typical Sunday, really) and down on the same block is Zappia. Older and more beat-up than Pizza Vita but the pie comes out pretty quick so the family is happy. Crust - decent. Sauce - a nice little tang but a little watery. Their own slogan "Life is Too Short For Bad Pizza" and while it was an average/okay pizza - "The Pizza Project 2015" doesn't want to end its season at this stop and we're hoping to squeeze in somewhere else before we're officially done.

I've been here a couple of times for a quick lunch when I'm in the area. They have a good variety of slices to choose from and they have a special any two slices and a soda for $6.50 and the pizza is really good too. They also have a few tables outside for you to enjoy your food. The service is good and it's a nice spot.

Their Greek salad slice is heavenly & add to that their own recipe for a side of Italian vinaigrette- wow, you've got to try it! I'm a stickler for plain & pepperoni slices - but you can't go wrong w any style slice/pie! For the pepperoni slices/pie that add the PERFECT AMOUNT of pepperoni- and you can ask for very little crust or a lot! They provide the most personal experience when it comes to choosing what you want on your pizza, they aim to please! All the guys behind the counter are such a joy, when you walk in everyone says hello & they remember your name too! The owner (Louis, I think) has a passion for making real authentic Italian cuisine. Among the service, the product, the cleanliness, price & order time (so fast) I give Villafe "Trat. 5 stars- you don't need to drive k to Manhattan for a real taste of NYC pizza! Just remember on Fri & Sat night, put your order in early bc they are super busy, just what you would expect from a superior pizza/italian food restaurant. Those are the reasons they are my go-to pizza place! Oh & my sons absolutely RAVE about their buffalo chicken slices/pizza. Sort of a light, fluffy dough, but crispy? Not thick like a focaccia or heavy like Sicilian, but also, not unlike those two? It's not New York Style. My sister-in-law loves to get their salad with grilled chicken. They give you a lot of chicken (this is takeout, we do both). It's nicely grilled and seasoned. I got the linguini Alfredo because they have that big wheel of cheese, and I think they make it in the wheel? Again, this was takeout. Not my favorite thing I've ordered there. But again, it's a pizza place, get pizza. The staff is really nice. I mean it's young people (I'm very old), like college age, which in my opinion can be hit or miss. You know they like to make those TikTok dances. That's all they care about. But these kids are uniformly friendly and customer-focused. Nice kids. And the place is cute inside.

I asked if they had more cheese coming out and they showed me the full tray of cheese and said they had some. I asked for a fresh slice but instead they went for the lone dried one under the glass. When I asked if I could get a fresh slice another employee came up to me and said I couldn't and that the batch of pies on the racks behind all came out at the same time a while ago. Huh? I asked again if I could simply get a fresh one from the trays behind him and was told no. Weird flex but okay -wow. I said no thanks and simply went to pay for a water bottle for my son. The manager asked if he was ringing me up for a water and a slice to which I replied "No they refused to serve me a fresh slice"- thinking he would have a focus on customer service and even remedy this. Nope. Just replied with "So just the water then?" Disappointing. There was no line, no rush. Any decent slice shop will proactively tell you to wait a few min for a fresh pie but this place didn't seem to care even when asked. Sadly, I have been here before and enjoyed the slices but we won't be returning any more. Save your money for a place that actually values customers.

We didn't stay long as we got slices to go, but they were good Jersey slices of pizza. I kept mine simple - plain and sausage, and my daughter went with a plain and a ziti/noodle slice. As you know, I fully admit to being a pizza snob and I get wound up if a slice is even just mediocre because this is Jersey and you have no business BEING in the pizza business if you can't make good pizza. The competition is too tough to make something less than great. Well, at least based on the four slices my daughter and I had, Doria's should find continued success as they make excellent pizza. The sauce was great - not too sweet, but very tasty. I like my pizza a little bit well done as it gives the cheese a better flavor and these slices were done just that way. The sausage on my slice was ok, not great, but ok. My daughter probably didn't taste hers as she was ravenous, but she SAID it was delicious...her go-to slice is the ziti slice and she wolfed it down like it was a slice of heaven. I don't live in the area so I can't speak to sandwiches or the regular counter workers here, but I can simply tell you that we had a great experience here. I'd go back...

I ordered pickup and drove around the street a few times looking for "Antico Arturo" and didn't see it. I wasted 15 minutes of my life looking for it, calling the place in Red Bank to see if my order was being made down there, then going back and walking into La Pastaria to ask if they sell under the name Antico Arturo. (It's not like there's anything on the sign of door or windows indicating if you ordered Antico Arturo that you've come to the right place.) The lady told me yes. I asked if they were changing the name of the store. She told me no. I asked why they sell under the other name. "We just do." Oh, cool. Anyway the food is edible but not much more than that. Pizza tasted fairly close to high school pizza. It is nothing like the picture you see on the Antico Arturo website. I guess that's the one you get in Red Bank. Also they charge $21 for it and this pizza was like a small personal pizza size, maybe 12 inches. The picture online looks like a big nice pizza. It's completely false advertising. I don't know how this place gets away with it.

There was a significant amount of bread "hangage" because of the small size of the cutlet. I asked for extra sauce on the side, which I didn't get, but that wasn't a big deal because the chicken was cooked perfectly and not dry. Though it would've been nice to have the sauce to dip the extra bread in. Pasta salad is great! The veggies are still Al dente and the vinaigrette that it's tossed in is lovely. I'll be back. *Pasta salad could have been packaged separately.

Our food was mostly good; not exceptional. One disappointment was my husband's swordfish livornaise. He is familiar with this dish, having prepared it himself. There was no marinara sauce with capers and olives, as is typical in the recipe. I would have expected an Italian restaurant to get that right. The swordfish was ample and not dry. The lasagna was served in an individual baking dish and it was surrounded in oil. Not appetizing. The prices are high, as expected. Only wish the food was more exceptional for the prices. The floor-to-ceiling windows create a gorgeous atmosphere, and the food was delicious. Service throughout the meal was very good, and our server, Abby, was friendly and attentive. That said, there were a couple of disappointments. It was my birthday, and we were asked multiple times throughout the evening whether we were celebrating a special occasion. However, nothing was ever acknowledged at the end of the meal. We even had to remind our server about the limoncello shots that typically accompany dessert, which felt a bit awkward after being asked so many times about the occasion. My biggest concern is the seating issue with the windows. While the floor-to-ceiling glass is beautiful, the sun glare was extremely uncomfortable where we were seated. The sun was directly in our eyes for much of the meal, and we found ourselves switching and repositioning our chairs just to be comfortable. The restaurant should consider installing shades, scrims, or another solution to help manage the sunlight during certain hours. Overall, Felina Summit is a gorgeous restaurant with excellent food and good service, and I would certainly return. With better management of the sunlight and a little more follow-through on special occasion acknowledgments, the experience would be even better.
