I heard so many great things about Vinnie's Pizza, so I decided to give them a try. We called to place an order over the phone and were quoted an hour and a half wait time, which I thought was absurd -- but we went for it anyway. We picked up the pizza at the time they gave us and brought it home, less than 15 minutes away. The pizza, to me, was just okay and extremely overhyped. The pepperoni was sliced very thin into strips and was almost flavorless. I know some people might enjoy this style, but it just didn't do it for me. For a large pie with pepperoni, the total came to a little over $20. Vinnie's is located in a very busy area, and parking can be a challenge. Customer service was okay. There are a few other items on the menu I might consider trying if I go back, but as far as the pizza goes, I just wasn't impressed.
If you are a fan of thin crust pizza look no further. Vinnie's is the best in town and the best at making thin pies. Every bite was filled with crisp flavorful goodness. Great service provided I'm looking forward to my next visit.
I promised my wife that we would find good pizza during a trip to New Jersey, and after a bit of searching, Vinnie's seemed like it would be able to deliver. It's a small spot - two tables inside, two tables outside - but the stacks of empty pizza boxes mark it as a popular one. They do sixteen-inch pies here (sorry, no slices) as well as sandwiches, pastas, and wings. After describing what we were looking for in a pizza, the young man at the counter suggested the Gramps (sweet Italian sausage, hot cherry pepper, and onions) with olives added, and we were sold. Fifteen minutes later, we were digging into a glorious pie. The crust was thin without being floppy or greasy. The sauce and cheese were both high quality. The peppers added a nice burst of heat. Cheap it was not (upper $20s after the additional topping), but there are some things you can't put a price on, and a sublimely delicious pizza is one of them. Truthfully, I'm not back up North often enough to say how well Vinnie's stacks up against other Union County pizza options (I grew up on Cioffi's), but compared to much of what I'm used to in the Tarheel State (where good pizza is good often by virtue of innovative toppings), it more than holds its own.
Came here on a friday evening, there was a 45 minute wait for a pie which was fine because we weren't in a hurry. We placed our order at the counter and took a walk then came back in time for our pizza. We ordered one bella pie which was cooked to perfection. The crust had just the right amount of crispness and I like how they spread the cheese all the way to the edge so every bite has the same amount of flavor. The sweetness from the hot honey balanced out the saltiness of the soppressata and spiciness of the peppers. This was by far one of the best pizzas I've had in a while. I'd recommend ordering ahead of time (1 hour to 45 minutes) over the phone so that the pizza is ready by the time you arrive and eating it fresh at one of their tables. They only have 2 tables inside and a few outdoor seats but a majority of their orders were for pick up so we didnt have a problem finding seating.
We just had lunch here today and it was excellent! Pete the owner is a genuine guy with great hospitality and great food! We tried the Artichoke Salad Side Meatballs Vinnie Plain Pizza and Chicken Cutlet, Mozzarella, Rabes Sandwich and we had no complaints. Fresh ingredients and everything came out hot and tasty. We enjoyed everything! Salad had a great dressing. Pizza was cooked perfectly. Chicken cutlet was delicious and the broccoli rabe was so good. Not bitter at all. Clean inside. They're very busy and I can see why!

Certainly could compete with most any good pies I've had in NYC. Split a pepperoni with two others and it was a perfect amount of food (3 slices each). I like the long thin alternative with this type of pepperoni and I like that the cheese sticks to the thin crust, fresh out of the oven, perfectly. I'm still thinking about this pizza hours later wondering when I might have it again next it was so tasty. Washed it down with a Stewart's root beer and enjoyed a beautiful day on the outdoor sidewalk chairs/table. Everything came out quickly and as expected.
I got here at least once a week and it never disappoints. It's my favorite pizza in the area. The charred edges of the pizza are delicious. I usually get the cheese pie with hot honey and it's so yummy. I also burn my mouth on the pizza because it's too good to wait to cool. Vinnie's only has two tables inside so go at an off time if you want to eat there. Service is exceptional. John is my absolute favorite and always makes good conversation. I cannot recommend Vinnie's enough. I still think they should bring back the day dream. #bringitback
Stopped by late afternoon around 4 PM Two outdoor tables both occupied and two inside tables occupied. Small spot not much space inside but plenty of real estate for the number of boxes and items they need to churn out the orders, which in the short time we were there, at a fairly odd hour it was BUSY. The oven was nonstop about 6 pies at a time. We ordered: Wings (4/4) Husband said it was pretty much one of the best wings. Perfectly crispy outside, not overcooked inside, sauced but not drowning. Plain cheese pie (4/4) Recommend waiting 15 seconds before taking a bite if you're eating it fresh, piping hot! Stretchy cheese perfection, sauce to cheese ratio was good for the thin crust that still somehow withstood all it was holding. Crispy and doughy at the same time. Solid option without any bells and whistles required. ***One note I would definitely recommend eating it there, I imagine take out could ruin the consistency. The pizza gets cold quickly because it's so thin which would probably make the crust less enjoyable. Penne sausage and broccoli rabe (4/4) Not oily, crispy sausage and ample broccoli rabe cut up nicely for a bit with each bite. Always love some good fresh garlic browned and crispy! Garlic nots (10/4) A M A Z I N G Not sure I want to know, but HOW garlic knots made beforehand, sitting on a shelf can still be so fresh tasting with a glazed top and doughy inside smothered in garlic Parmesan herbal goodness. Essentially a gluttonous savory version of a Cinnabon type consistency but BETTER by 100. Hands down the best garlic knot I have eaten in my life. Will be back. Reasonable pricing, sticking to the basics of just delivering on execution of their food. What a treat of a discovery.

Looks like many people don't dine in, we ate inside and it was cold in the area where they have tables. Pizza was delicious I love that it's pizza all the way and no crust. This was a gramps pie - hot peppers. Sausage peppers and onions. I wish I had some ranch on the side but they didn't carry any. Everything tasted fresh!
really really like the pepperoni pizza we had from here. sometimes places with with good looking interior usually do not churn out great food where local people are coming in and out with large orders. saw a garbage man come in to get his large order while I was waiting for my pie. there's a couple tables inside and outside but with a toddler and large doggy we opted to enjoy our pizza at the park. we didn't want to disturb the peace in Millburn. the pizza was thin but with a lot of cheese and sauce to make be soggy. it's not doughy and was crispy hot out of the oven.
Saw this place was a top reviewed spot (and saw Portney's review) and had to check this place out. Right off the main downtown area of Milburn it has some outside seating when the weather is nice. Inside it's two small tables and a nice/newer vibe. The pizza takes me back to the classic bar pie with thin crust. Not greasy and does have a little crisp at the ends it's a really great pizza. 8.7 Go and get it, I will be back
As a recent transplant to the North Jersey area, I've been on the hunt for the best pizza here, and Vinnie's is up there on my list as one of the best I've found so far. We got the Sgt Peppers pie (Meatballs, Long Hot Peppers, & Onions). Perfectly crisp, thin crust pizza. They did not skimp with the toppings and it was evenly distributed across the pie. The peppers had a nice kick that was the ideal complement to the meatballs. Fantastic cheese and sauce (and in the right ratios, too).

I was not there as I was able to have this at a gathering I attended. Besides pizza, they had a number of options to choose from ranging from sandwiches to Italian classics. I was able to try their plain cheese pizza ($18?). It was a very thin crust, but it was not too thin like a traditional 'bar pie.' The overall pizza needed to be cooked a tad longer, as it was not crispy enough. The flavor was there throughout with a good distribution of cheese and sauce, but as mentioned, the crust was not crispy enough with the thin crust being used. Will I go back? I did not actually attend but I would go. read more

Crispy pan-style bar pies that earned an 8.3 from Dave Portnoy. I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, it was underwhelming. It was good, but something felt off. Maybe it sat in the box too long on the way home. Idk- just not the standout I hoped for. All in all, I think still worth trying if you are nearby. read more

Get ready to transport your taste buds straight to italy, with the owners grandfather's recipe their pizzas do not miss! Perfect amount of sauce and cheese & the most amazing unique pepperoni slices you'll ever see! But they have a lot of other amazing items as well, including meatballs, salads, and a very delightful steak sandwich meat with the freshest bread from Sorrento bakery! [ because if any true jersey person knows the key to any good sandwich is the bread] I even got a plain pie to go, if you haven't been yet run don't walk! read more
Pretty good pizza spot in Millburn. If you like thin crust then you will really enjoy this spot. There's a crispness/ softness that I really enjoyed about the pepperoni pizza. The service was great, pretty quick and easy to order. It takes about 20 min for a pie. The only down fall is that there is limited seating. When we went there was a group that took up all the seating so we had to take out to go. It was still really good after the 40 min drive back home. Def coming back! read more
I have been on a quest to find the best pizza in north/central NJ and my search brought me here. I'm so glad it did. I barely have adequate command of the English language to do it justice. Just incredible pizza. I mean incredible. I have had some amazing pizza recently and this just blew me away. Take a look at the pictures. The ring of caramelized cheese around the rim is pure magic. Every pizza I saw coming out had it. Perfect every time. A super slightly burnt cheese taste and amazing crispness. The bottom was perfectly baked and crispy. Just the right thickness and texture. The sauce was a perfect balance of tangy and sweet and the cheese was good as well. I'm sure some toppings would be good but I don't think I will ever stray from just cheese. It is that good. I have given a few other pizza places five stars and now I feel self conscious about it. They just aren't in this league. Wish there was a way to give a bonus star. Like the amps that went up to eleven in Spinal Tap. Just be warned, they only have two tables. Yes, two. Luckily everyone knows this and everything was takeout but you might get unlucky. This pizza is beyond great. I would easily drive 3 hours to get some. Luckily I only live 45 minutes away. Top 2 or 3 pizzas in my life and I'm old and have eaten a ton of pizza. Just upset it took me this long to find it. Please go. You will thank me for it. read more

This place has been on my list for a while, but what gave me the push to finally go was the recent "battle" I saw between Vinnie's and the beloved Star Tavern for best bar pie in NJ. Anything being compared to Star has gotta' be good! Boyfriend and I both really enjoyed the plain cheese pie (The Vinnie). I understand why some thin crust places don't do this, but I could have used more sauce (just my preference). Still really great flavor, the crust wasn't paper thin but was probably a step above that (which I really like), and the slices could stand on their own. The crust was chewy -- way chewier than any other thin crust pie I've ever had. I actually like that better than crisp, but I know many don't prefer that. Is it better than Star? No. That + it's also expensive as hell for a thin crust are the reasons for the four stars. But it's a great pie and I will totally be back! Friendly staff, order was ready exactly when they said it would be (45 minutes on a Friday night). Whole pies only! read more

I was on my way to AC and saw this place reviewed by Dave Portnoy I think he gave it an 8.1. It was quite a drive out of my way as this place took me north as I needed to head south . When I got about 20 mins away I called in my order and it was a quick easy order . I ordered a pie with pepperoni. When I finally got there I parked at a meter (first 15 mins free) . It's in a really nice area with a nice stream of water over an old bridge which was nice to see . As I entered they didn't seem busy and I was helped right away . The pie came to 21.00 which these days is more than fair . I couldn't wait to get to my car and chow down on some pepperoni pizza! As i opened the box I liked what I saw a nice well done thin pie with cheese all the way to the end of the crust . It had a nice char but I felt a little light with the pepperoni. So as I said it looked well done and thin and I thought it would be crispy . However it's softer and kind of chewy . It reminded me of a frozen pizza consistency . I'm glad I tried it and enjoyed the experience but it's not for me as I prefer a crispy pizza . My advice give it a try and perhaps have it to stay as the box came make it less crispy or in this case soft and chewy . read more

I drove 90 miles to get two pies. Next time I need to get more pies to the gallon. Totally worth the trip. The sauce compliments the spicy Sgt. Peppers pie. What I love the most about the pie is the cheese is carmelized, sauce & toppings right to the edge of the pan pizza. Driving down the turnpike all I could smell was the meatballs from Sgt. Peppers and sweet sausage from Gramps Pizza pie. This Philly girl is hooked. read more
Arguably my favorite pizza in the state!! I wish I lived closed but it's probably better I don't because I'd eat it for every meal every day. The shoestring pepperoni is unreal - there's nothing like it. I've also had the massive meatballs and size does matter! Heard great about their wings but haven't tried yet. read more
