I don't even know where to start.......Zara employees who were specifically scheduled today were all amazing! There was an active shooter at the mall today, I ran towards Zara where my fiancé was shopping. Literally scared for my life with other shoppers. Zara employees handled the situation so well! They closed all 3 entrances from the mall to keep us all safe. We were all immediately escorted to the back of the store; where they kept us all calm and safe throughout the horrific moment....even offered us water. They honestly deserve a medal or a raise! I was there today. I did not buy anything because there was only one person at the register. They never look up or seem to care if anyone is waiting. No one in the store approaches you for anything. First off no landline for help. The manager said they don't do phones. Look at the culture thats written in the returns. There's things like if theres a lower price even currently they won't refund you? Just seems like nothing special or wanting to help you any better than your average retail establishment. Today in the dressing room I overheard an employee be incredibly rude and disrespectful to another customer. Apparently the woman didn't put her clothes back on the hanger. The employee told her she needed to put her clothes on the hanger "like I told you before you entered the room. If you didn't want to do it, you had the option to not try the clothes on". I heard the woman respond that she didn't understand (she was a soft spoken Korean woman with a strong accent). The staff member repeated "i told you that before you went in". The woman said she didn't know what to say, she had never had this experience before in a store. She asked for the staff member's name, and the staff member said "there's a reason we don't wear name tags" and refused to give her name. When I came out of the room the customer was crying and talking to the manager. I told the manager what I had heard. She seemed pretty unconcerned. I am still in shock that an employee was that rude. This store is very messy, tables are always a disaster, it doesn't matter what time of the day I go (if they just opened, or at lunch time or afternoon...). I always go on "weekdays", when the store supposed to look the best and neat. I don't even want to think or see how the store looks on weekends and when it is crowded. Most of this store employees are not super friendly either. Very unfortunately, this location is very close to my house, but I rather shop online. Update! Went back again yesterday to return few items that I bought online and I didn't even try them on, the box didn't even make it inside my house 2 hours before I went to the store... and the clerk had "cero customer service skills" and rude!!! OMG, this is so funny! I came to write about what an awful experience I had at this particular Zara store, only to see that everyone had a similar experience. I had to return a pair of shorts that were too small, so I lined up at the returns and exchanges line. After a few minutes, one of the employees at the register told me to line up with the other 30 people at the checkout line. So I did, and when it was my turn, the other employee asked me why I hadn't lined up at the returns and exchanges line. I explained that the person next to her had told me to line up with everyone else. The person helping me said, "Next time, you should just line up here." The girl who had told me to line up with everyone else overheard us and said, "No, we don't do that." I asked her why there was a returns and exchanges sign if that wasn't the procedure, suggesting they should remove it. The person helping me responded, "Yeah, you could have let me help her." Then the girl said, "No!" I asked for her name because I didn't understand why she was so rude and unhelpful. She laughed and said, "I am not giving you my name!" (Oh well, I snapped a photo.) Came to the store to pick up an online order real quick - or so I thought. I waited behind 3 people, 2 of which were already being helped. 1 person being helped took 20+ minutes at the register scrolling on her phone for something - Idk the circumstances. The other register opened and the person in front of me began to ask to see different sizes of the items she already had and proceeded to pick out perfume mid purchase. I am literally standing there with nothing in my hands, obviously not buying anything, annoyed but patient. After waiting ~20 minutes, the remaining person who was being helped when I arrived had finished. I went up to the cashier only to be told that the online order pick ups are in the mens section. I had never had this occur at another store, but she did seem to feel bad about it. I went over to the men's section and gave the guy my name to get my order. I proceeded to suggest that they add a sign over at the women's registers stating that the pick up is here instead, as I waited 20 minutes for no reason. He said, "yeah.. it happens." Not sure if he realized, but this response only makes matters worse! I responded, "Well it shouldn't." He went on to say that there is actually a table with a sign out there (referring to the women's section is how I took it). I went over there to look for the table with the sign but still had difficulty finding it. The employee who had given me my order had coincidentally walked into the women's section at this time, so I asked him to show me where it was. He directed me to the edge of the men's section to a low table with small letters stating "online pick up" only. I have included a picture. The store has a horrible return policy. I shopped before Christmas and the policy is returns must be completed before 30 days. The gift recipient needed to exchange the gift and missed the exchange period by ONE day. The clerks and manager wouldn't budge. A refund wasn't asked for, just an exchange. Thank goodness I didn't shop on Black Friday! Wouldn't have made it to the holidays. Zara should at the very least, extend the exchange policy for the holidays so that gift recipients have time to go back after the holidays. The staff was rude to boot. Every time I come to this location on a weekday around 12 PM there's only ever one person at the register and they never have the kids department or men's department registers open. There's always a super long line and the person at the register never apologize or says thank you for waiting... There's been several times that I have just walked away and set my items down. I get it if you're understaffed, but the most recent time I went there is two guys standing behind the register in the men's department but wouldn't take customers while there is a super long line in the women's. I work in retail so I know how it is when people go on breaks they Need to have floaters that can help on the register when the line gets long. read more

As I was waiting at the designated area, I patiently waited for the kind gentleman to finish ringing up people. However, as I was waiting, multiple employees walked passed me and said nothing. The worst experience at this Zara! The sales person in Men's forgot to remove the alarms on some of the items I purchase. I purchase $500 worth of stuff and had to walk out with 4 large bags but got to the exit and the alarms went off so I had to walk back to the cashier and have them remove these alarms. They took the clothing and shoes and a back pack out of the bags and remove the sensors and went to put everything back but they forgot to include my $89 leather back pack. I don't live in Thousand Oaks I'm 45 minutes away with traffic so I was very upset when I realize the back pack was missing. The Zara store doesn't have a phone number to contact anyone so I had to message Zara support on the Zara app because their costumer service number is no good! It's just an automated message you can't get anyone on the phone! The worst experience and inconvenience ever. They started a support ticket for me and the chat advIse someone would be in touch but nobody has called me. I'm now on my way to go to the store to get this back pack. read more

I walked out... I left +300 dollars worth of two longcoats near the register, not because i didn't like them, but moreso because the staff was not too kind. Somehow I felt as if the staff acknowledged my presence, but refused to help. One girl was kind enough to help when I asked, but a second later she disappeared. (I noticed another male staff called her and had her do other things but help.) I was ready to pay for the coats, for which a tall blonde man denied to me the service of paying and requested me to look for another register, which I did. They have the fitting rooms blocked off and my child along with others needed to try clothes on so they quickly went in to try them on. Sales person got a manger who refused to return a defective product! Then they put me through the ringer by sending to the goose chase of a 1-800 number! They then referred me to their app, who then informed me they would escalate this to their return sept within 48 hours!!!! All over $60 shoes!!!! It could've been so simple. This is absolutely the most appalling company I've ever dealt with. I've spent thousands of dollars over the years on clothing for my girls from here. I've referred many many of my clients to Zara for their cute kids' clothing. I recently purchased a dress for my daughter, and after ONE wash on gentle cycle, the dress completely fell apart. Pocket hanging off, completely trashed-looking. I brought it to the store, where a larger brunette employee with glasses and dark lipstick, along with a taller, thin male with a beard and glasses proceeded to shrug their shoulders and tell me there's nothing they can do but give me the number to customer service. No apology, just rudely incompetent. I contacted customer service and they promised to "escalate" my case and that I'd hear back in 24-48 hours. This rang a familiar bell, so I searched through my emails and realized that this happened to me 18 months ago with two other garments from zara. Same issue, fell apart after one wash. And looking through my email history I saw that I followed up *multiple* times and never received a response or resolution, so I likely just forgot about it and moved on. They take your money but clearly do NOT stand behind their products. I'm not only out the $$ I spent, but an entire afternoon of chasing down their employees to try to get some actual customer service. Now I realize that perhaps I'm the fool for giving my repeat business to Zara. This is a cautionary tale. Their kids clothes are cute and stylish but are NOT MEANT TO BE WASHED. This is utterly impractical and ridiculous. There is NO customer service at this company. I didn't change my mind about the clothes, I just wanted my money back for having a product that is clearly grossly defective. In the future, I highly advise people to stay away from giving this company their business. There are several stores that do care about their customers (Nordstrom, heck even Target). Checking out in the Men's store, I waited behind a woman at the "Please Wait Here" sign. An employee was standing at the counter writing or doing some work (I'm assuming) on here phone. She didn't look up until the woman in front of me told her she was there to pick something up. I waited until the employee returned and completed the transaction - then another woman walked up and she too had a pickup. I had now been standing there ten minutes so when she went in the back to retrieve the woman's order I decided to step up to the TWO registers (one of which had a "Register Closed" sign.) When she completed the pickup order, I FINALLY, without any recognition of me whatsoever, interrupted the salesperson and told her I had been standing there for ten minutes, to which she curtly replied "This register is closed you have to checkout in the Women's store. I asked why she couldn't have told me that ten minutes ago, and she said "I didn't see you!" Keep in mind I was five feet away... tops! (For perspective, I didn't even notice there was a woman's store attached as I entered from the Mens side). But, she didn't apologize, she huffed and said "The sign says Register Closed". I quickly pointed out the it reads REGISTER, not REGISTERS. Singular. There were TWO registers. Good God, how am supposed to assume and process all of this information in their extremely toxic and emotional-less environment. I paid in the woman's section and the young woman was delightful and apologized. But, when I went back to the curt rep in Mens to nicely suggest putting TWO signs up, she said something to the effect of "People know" and refused to take responsibility because she insisted she didn't see me.
