We don't have Zaxby's in San Diego so I was excited to try it while I was in Indianapolis. I placed an order online for a cobb salad with fried chicken and ranch. Shredded cheese, cucumber, tomatoes and hard boiled egg are my go-to salad ingredients and I only removed the bacon and fried onions. The salad was just what I needed in terms of something green but also allowing me to try the fried chicken that they're known for. It was good and I'd definitely go back again. Cashier/Server had a hard time understanding there were two customers, no we didn't want the same thing, and finally got the order correct. I ordered the 3 piece snack with ranch dressing, the other order was a grilled chicken sandwich with coleslaw. My chicken was overcooked and tough, my fries so salty I had to rub the salt off to eat them. The grilled chicken sandwich was good, as was the coleslaw. The order was out pretty quickly and rung up correctly with the correct amount of change. We ate in the dining room, the floor was dirty with spilled food beside the booth next to us. I like Zaxby's because I can get a side of celery and feel like I'm eating something healthy, even when I'm not. I always get the boneless wing meal with nuclear sauce and an extra side of celery. The toast, fries, and celery are what I'm going for though. Why is their toast so good? I've dined in, gone through drive thru, and ordered through DoorDash and all were consistently good service. They have homemade potato chips as a side that I keep meaning to try and always forget. Stopped by here for a quick bite during my travels from Chicago to Nashville. The menu hasn't changed much in recent years but geesh did the prices go up? I ordered a wings and things plus tea. $13.07. It has been years since I last went to a Zaxbys I thought a wings and things was 7.99. Maybe everything just feels pricey these days. Overall experience, it was pretty good. The restaurant was clean. The restrooms were clean. I can't complaint too much. I ate there and it pretty peaceful. Thank you, next. Ordered delivery from Zaxby's because we wanted something different. we're about 7 minutes from the restaurant. Hubby and I got boneless wings, chicken fingers, sides, and a chicken salad. This is not anything special. Probably the best part was the french fries. To start, we're unpacking the bag and they only sent ranch dressing. we ordered several of the sauces because we wanted to try them and we got zero. Second, the chicken is not flavorful. It's just breading with no spices. Maybe it would have been better had we had something to dip it in. The toast was burnt, hard, and dry. The salad though was ginormous. It was good but it wasn't enough to save this meal. Maybe we'll try Zaxby's again in the restaurant after we forget this experience. Until then, pass. read more

They open at 10:30 am. So, I pulled up in the drive thru at 10:45 am because I knew the food would be fresh as it normally is during that time of day. I ordered a combo. The wings were dry and hard. The fries were not fresh, but, at least, the Sweet Tea was good. I ate part of the fries in my car, then broke down and went in the restaurant to return the wings and the remaining fries. The restaurant could have been cleaner. They told me it would be 12 minutes, but because they had only been open to 15 minutes, I assumed that nothing would be stale. I showed them my receipt and put my box of stale wings & fries on the counter. They never looked at it, so I threw it away assuming that they would make some fresh wings & fries since I ordered a combo. They only replaced the wings because that was the focus of my complaint. I assumed that they would replace the fries or even compensate me for the inconvenience of having to get out of my car, go in and wait 12 minutes for some fresh wings. So, this was a little disappointing considering I believe that when a customer has a complaint and has to be inconvenienced, management should, at least, offer a cookie or an equivalent incentive to go back. read more

I freaking love this place! Its the only one in the area but I've eaten at a few others further south. If you've never been to a Zaxby's, its basically an unhealthier ChickFilA. The batter is heavier & the food is cheaper. Its a better value also because its a DIY soda machine that has way more options. Most often you end up eating fries & usually get some chicken fingers. Wish there was an option for 0 stars! Went into this location at 8:40 for what is posted as a 9:45 closing. After a long day of travel, three of us went in to use the bathroom before ordering. After, we all waited in the lobby for a while, tried to get someone to stop and at least acknowledge we were there, but no one did. Then one employee walked right past us to take the trash out and ignored us. After ignoring us, I went and asked her if they were closed because no one was around to take our order, and she said they were still open. Even after that, no one came to speak with us. Not one "we'll be right with you" or even eye contact. Definitely disappointing for a group who wanted to try Zaxby's for the first time! read more

I love zaxbys. Love the food and how close it is. However there is a manager named Jennifer who is incredibly rude every single time shes working. She practically shoves your food into your face while looking in the other direction like you're beneath her or something. I would strike it up to a bad day but no its literally every time she is working the drive through window otherwise I'd never mention it. Never had a single problem with any other employee. If you can give me text alerts for when she isnt working I will give this location 5 stars no problem. Still going to go but I'm almost ready to go all the way across town to avoid this one rude employee. Finally got to try out Zaxby's. I was not disappointed. The food came out fast enough and was still hot, I got a four piece chicken finger plate which came with crinkle fries, a piece of thick Texas toast, coleslaw and a bunch of dipping sauces plus said chicken. I liked the chicken. It was coated in cornmeal and flour which gave it a satisfying exterior and the all white meat was moist. The Zaxby' sauce was not my favourite, sorta like a ketchup-mayo thing with spices. The spicy honey mustard and regular honey mustard were better. There was a good ranch too. The chicken was good enough that covering it in sauce is sorta a crime. The crinkle fries were good. They have a dusting of spices. Probably a salt, sugar, paprika mix. The Texas toast huge and toasted golden brown. Probably didn't need all the carbs but what the heck. I didn't get to try to coleslaw because i took it home to eat later and my roommate ate it outta the fridge. For what it's worth he ate it all so it must have been good. read more

The staff neglected to include our 20 piece tender in the order. We live 30 min away and didn't want to return for the order, and their policy is that they can't reimburse over the phone. Mgr was unapologetic and rude from the beginning and refused to give me any other help or info. A simple "I'm sorry for that" would've been great. Nice chicken fast food restaurant, something different than burgers all the time. They use Texas toast on most sandwiches and I like that. The food could have been served a bit warmer. The taste and presentation was nice. The prices were a lil on the higher side. The location was clean inside and out, and seemed like it had a good flow of customers. The drink machine is nice as it offers about 50 different types of soda pops. The staff was friendly and helpful. They seem to enjoy their work. I recommend if you want to try something different than a burger, and are in a hurry, then give this place a try. read more

I passed by this place numerous times and never actually went in until today (Sunday, February 25th, 2018). The restaurant was so empty when we arrived that I assumed it was closed, but it was not. It was unusual, because other restaurants surrounding them all had waits. But, I guess I'm an adventurous person. I decided to give it a whirl. The restaurant is in an easy-to-access area compared to some of its competitors. This is a developing area and, if you're not a frequent visitor, can get intimidating to navigate through. No such worry with this location. The inside was spacious and offered booths and tables. Kind of a neat layout they had, with plenty of room near the counter to help extra guests if needed. Their menu is kind of cumbersome to read; I had trouble locating some of the flavors for their wings. The cleanliness of this location was not top-notch, hence my 4-start review. Several dirty tables, and not enough business to warrant them not being cleaned off in a timely fashion. It was nothing major, mostly leftover napkins and crumbs on the table, but that's not really the point. The food itself came out hot (for the most part). My fries were luke warm. I didn't care for them, but I'm also not huge on fries, so this isn't a major issue for me. I had plenty of other food to choose from. I got: 4 wings, 3 chicken fingers, toast, and fries. The toast had a nice crunch to it, and wasn't saturated in butter. The wings (I chose the teriyaki sauce) were drenched. I prefer not quite as much sauce, but it's not a deal breaker for me. The sauce was tangy and sweet, as it should be. I couldn't get to the chicken strips. (The portions are decent.) They were hot and appeared to be juicy, however. My father ordered the mushrooms and loved them. My mother also said they were good. The cole slaw was also great quality for it being casual dining. I recommend trying their sweet tea. It was delicious! Their chocolate chip cookies are a must. They were soft and fresh. In total, we got all of our food for about $30. Two of us had leftovers, so this was well worth, in my opinion. Went here for the first time. We were expecting more for the huge line of people waiting to order. First of all like the people above me said only one soda machine! Which creates all that crowd. Second the food was a little pricey for the quality. Very tasteless and bland. We order to go and our bread was a little soggy. My husband order the 7 piece chicken strips, when he was only given one bbq sauce he asked for another one and it was given to him however he was told next time he would be charged. We were really one sauce for 7 piece of chicken?! The cashier should've asked what kind of sauce he wanted and let us know that extra sauce would cost. I want to update my review for Zaxby's because I hesitantly returned and this time I tried their zalad and was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the Blue Zalad with blackened chicken and the chicken was delicious! Extremely tender and juicy! It was a dish I would order again without hesitation. Also, in my previous review, the food wasn't very hot (temperature wise) but on my second visit it was fresh and hot and juicy! Even the chicken tenders! The first review was two stars, the second I would give four, so I leave it at a solid three for now :) read more
