This may not be the best fried chicken in town, but if you're in a pinch and don't know where else to go this is a great bet! I got the 4 tender plate which comes with crinkle cut fries, slaw, a piece of buttered toast, and a drink - it is definitely good eating! The batter in the chicken is crisp and clings onto the chicken well. My wife is a big fan of their grilled cheese, and with the bite I had I can see why - it's super buttery and rich (who goes to a fried chicken joint for a healthy meal ) As a newbie it was a little confusing to order, and I didn't realize I substituted my slaw for double fries (the cashier asked if I wanted fries or slaw as if it was only one or the other), and I didn't realize extra sauces cost a quarter per sauce, but maybe I also didn't ask the right questions. On November 8th 2020 at 8PM, my wife and myself dined in at Zaxby's at 6125H University Dr. Huntsville, AL 35806. While ordering we noticed that every employee in the kitchen and the cashier at the drive through window were wearing their masks improperly. Most only had their mouth covered with their nose uncovered. One individual had his mask under his chin. My wife mentioned this to a cashier who in turn told the shift supervisor. The supervisor told the individual that he had to put on his mask. After we received our food and started eating, the individual who had his mask down around his chin, came out of the kitchen without a mask and started pacing around the dining room. It seemed to us that he was retaliating about our complaint. Then he actually sat at a table that was less than 3 fveet away from my wife! It saddens me to realize that most of the employees at this location do not care about their customers health. After all, wearing a mask is not for your protection, but for the protection of others. The employees in the kitchen prepare the food and place it in eating containers, not to mention the cold food preparation. Hmmm, I wonder how long Covid-19 stays active on the cold salads we just ate. We all need to do our part to protect each other. If safety things do not look right file a complaint. At 70 years old and diabetic, if I were to catch covid-19, I am quite sure I would not recover. read more

I've always enjoyed Zaxby's chicken fingers and most of their sandwich choices. This particular location is pretty new so it can be hit or miss right now. I had a salad the first time and the lettuce seemed sorta soggy and not up to the typical Zaxby's standard. I had chicken fingers more recently and while they weren't exactly bad, they seemed slightly overcooked. I'm sure this location will get much better once they get more settled in. I went to Zaxby's because where I live there is no Zaxby's but I see commercials and I love chicken. I went through the drive through and it took longer than anticipated. I saw some photos on the menu of these massive combo meals (they looked huge!) So I went with the kids meal - 2 chicken fingers, fries, chocolate milk and a rice krispy treat. I thought the portion was good size for an adult. 1. Zaxby's sauce is awesome. Its like spicy, thick, bbq-y, cheesy. Its awesome. 2. Chicken batter is a bit salty but good. 3. Fries were like 'school' crinkle fries - good - but super salty. I'd like to try another location to see if everything there is salty. Remember when everyone was hyped for The Dark Knight Rises? This place reminds me of that hype. I took a professional course at an educational institution in Virginia last year and ate Chick Fil-A 34 times in a span of 27 days. I mentioned this to a class-mate, and she told me I'd love Zaxby's, and invited me to lunch. I thought to myself, "hmmm I could go for coffee." I mistook Zaxby's with Saxby's (spell-check). When I got to the register, I informed the cashier that it was my first time here. She told me I'd be addicted and I'd come back. She was right, I initially opted out of a drink but came back 2 min later requesting water. But like The Dark Knight Rises, it failed to deliver the hype. Just recovering from a bout of food poisoning from this place. On my last visit, the cashier in the drive thru was absurdly inappropriate. She was hanging out of the window laughing and cutting up with co-workers. She informed me that she had accientally given the food to the car that was in front of me. In the mean time, the car pulled back around. The cashier motioned for them to pull up beside my car. The cashier said, "sir, I'm sorry she has your food." She then proceeded to ask me to get my food from the other vehicle and handed me the lady's food to give to her. Seriously? One very polite and helpful adult girl was chewing gum and loudly popping it as she worked throughout the restaurant. There was also another girl chewing gum like a cow. Despite her good demeanor it was highly annoying and very loud. If there was a manager, it wasn't evident as she and the other girl did this behind the counter as well.
