We came here after going to Wing Stop and didn't even order because of how rude the cashier was. When we first walked into Zaxbys the employees were smiling and friendly! Sadly the food wasn't as great. The tenders were dry and fries not super hot but not awful either. The cheesecake bites were very good. The soda carbonation is way off and we're not good at all so we got tea and flavored water. Maybe the food was a one off and hopefully that's the case because the employees were so friendly. read more

Ordered online. Fine. Went inside to pickup. Order was not in the online pickup area. Went and stood at the counter. I could see my order. I was the only dining room customer there. 2 workers ignored me for 5 minutes. Both made eye contact with me twice. A 3rd worker came in, talked to the other 2 for a few minutes, continuing to ignore me. Finally, one of the first 2 asked the 3rd, "Can you help him?". Service is terrible and the manager doesn't care so why would his employees care?! It starts from the head down. It wasn't overly busy when we visited however my sisters order was wrong so they took it back to correct but did not make getting her food to her a priority. It took an additional 15 mins with several follow up on the eta from several members of their service team who were flat out rude. The young lady with natural hair and glasses threw my sisters food in the bag and mumbled something under her breath. The young lady at the register was sitting around looking lost as the counter began to fill with customers and never apologized for their mistake with the food. Nothing stood out. This was my first visit to Zaxbys. I ordered the Cobb Salad with chicken. I thought the salad would come designed like other Cobb salads I've seen at other restaurants. What I got straight from the window looked like a dog's breakfast. Even tho I recognized all but one of the ingredients, everything seemed to have been thrown into the container. If I could give zero stars I would. Went through the drive thru only for them to rush me away with my order Being wrong. When I got home, my food was cold, the fries were not seasoned, wrong sauces after asking twice for them to make sure it was correct, and they gave me fried chicken on my salad when I had asked for grilled chicken. Called the manager and you could hear the rest of the staff laughing and playing around in the background. Manager could care less about the issue and did not seem like he really wanted to help resolve the issue. If you want to waste your money then this is the place to go. Zaxby's finally made it up to Lynchburg for my last semester in college. For that, I am glad. It's brand new, which explains why the wait time is above average for a Zaxby's, but I'm sure it'll improve as they become more accustomed. Once I see they improve the little things (namely wait time), it'll go up to a 4-star in my book. Contrary to popular belief, you just can't compare Zaxby's with Chick Fil A. You may think I'm nuts, but I really do think they're vastly different. I am a huge fan of both, and they have different things that I like better than the other. As for Zaxby's, I highly recommend the nibblers, the kickin' chicken sandwich, their birthday cake milkshake, and, well DUH, Zax sauce. read more

Very disappointed! I have come through several times only to realize when I got home that food was missing from my order, I got wrong sauces, and food was cold. I called the manager on staff and he acted like he could care less. Very frustrated with the lack of care and consideration for the food you are serving. I love Zaxby's and I am so glad that Virginia is catching on. This place is new so I'll give them a pass on the service, but when a customer is standing at the counter it might be a good idea to ask her what she wants instead of just chatting to each other. My family and I love Zaxbys and often rely on it for a cheap but delicious on the road snack. That being said, this is the worst Zaxbys I have ever eaten at. I make that judgement not off of 1 experience, but 3 over the course of 7 days. Went this past Sunday as I was walking to the restaurant I smelled a burnt over used oil smell in the air. I was with my family 5 and all are meals we're burnt tasting, like they fried the food yesterday and then just heated it up or kept it in a warming bin. Being from Georgia, my wife and I were excited to see a Zaxby's in Lynchburg. We ordered what we felt was a simple meal; two Caesar salads with fried chicken tossed in teriyaki sauce. What we received was two heaping mounds of lettuce, no Caesar dressing, dry fried chicken, long limp strips of bacon, and a small cup on the side half filled with thick teriyaki sauce. It was as if the teriyaki sauce came from an oven that had thickened the sauce into a paste. When I brought the salads back to the front counter, I explained that salads were incorrect. The resolution I received was confused looks and two packets of Caesar dressing. Here's a novel idea: if an order confuses you, communicate with the customer! Instead you get pissed off customers who cannot fathom how this "meal" cost them $20, and will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to anyone. read more
