Last month, I saw a Groupon for Zaxby's but it listed a different location. I called this store and the woman who answered assured me that any Zaxby's Groupon could be used there. So I bought the Groupon, the same woman redeemed it, and I got a tasty meal for my family. Based on that experience, I have since bought two more Groupons. I went to this store tonight to redeem one of them. I told the guy at the counter that I had a Groupon and he said "OK." I placed my order and he tried to scan the bar code on my phone but it wouldn't work. The manager came out, looked at my phone, and said I could not use that Groupon because it was for a different location. I told him that his own employee had told me any Zaxby's Groupon would work there, and he just said "Sorry, Man." I asked if his store ever offered Groupons and he said they did it once a year or two ago (so why did the guy at the counter say "OK" when I said I had a Groupon?). So thanks to my original experience at this store, I now have $30 worth of Zaxby's Groupons for a store 40 miles from my house that I will never be able to use (Zaxby's chicken is good, but it's not worth an 80-mile drive). And the manager of my local store, whose employee told me I could use any Groupon at that store, just says "Sorry, Man." I will not be making any more purchases at Zaxby's. read more

They're always quick and friendly here. If I really want to splurge I get the birthday cake milkshake because it's amazing and basically tastes like confetti cake batter. The Zaxby club sandwich is my favorite, and I like to get the tangy Zax sauce for my fries. Unfortunately I've been sticking to a low carb diet lately, so I go for a grilled chicken salad without the toast. The salads are huge, definitely a substantial meal or something you can split. read more

I've been coming to this Zaxby's on occasion and usually it's fine but for some reason today the employees were very loud and honestly distracting to the customers. I wasn't going to write a review at all until some employee clapped his hands really loudly and shouted "hey!" at his friends sitting at a booth. There were also a lot of employees sitting in uniform in a booth and I'm not sure what that was about but basically it felt like they were all just hanging out having a good time and didn't care if they were bothering customers. I remember the last time I was around loud boisterous people who didn't know how to use their indoor voices. It was elementary school, and I'm pretty sure I didn't walk into one of those. I much prefer the location in Wake Forest since they're usually much more polite especially when customers are around. Food was fine though. read more

When Zaxby's first moved in near Target, we were excited because Zaxby's has always been delicious. However, as is common in the Wake Forest and Youngsville area, after about one year the place is terrible. The final time we ate there, the chicken was cooked too long and had no taste to it. My wife's chicken was actually almost to the point of being burned. The tables were not as clean as they were when they first opened. In this area, we've seen so many great restaurants that were great when they first opened just go downhill by very bad management and employees who could care less about their jobs. I think regional management needs to keep better tabs on their businesses here. read more

You know I really wanted to like Zaxby's. I mean a restaurant dedicated to chicken wings is like a religious experience. I believe the fryer is permanently set to 325 degrees because I cannot for the life of me get a crispy wing. I've tried several times now, tried different entrees and sides. I've tried repeatedly to give them the benefit of the doubt, but there comes a point, when the public needs to be aware. The grilled cheese I received on the last visit had been sitting so long, the cheese on the inside had turned brown, and it was cold. I was completely shocked that any employee would put this in a bag in the drive thru. My iced tea was warm containing only a few pieces of ice, and the fries were soggy. I can say with 100% certainty that I have NEVER received an order in the drive thru that was acceptable, including salads, chicken, etc. They either leave something out, or the quality is not edible. I wouldn't have come across this location if not for the well placed directional signs from I- 540 to the restaurant. I stopped in for the house salad with fried chicken and soft drink, which came to about $9.00. The service was quick and the food was good. The restaurant appears to be realtively new and clean. read more

Ordered a blackened blue "zalad"...very disappointing - 90% lettuce, 7% dry chicken, 3% other toppings. This salad is my go-to favorite for Zaxby's, but this location has ruined it for good. If you're craving Zaxby's, choose a different location. read more

Food always hot and fresh. My only issue is how they always seem confused when I customize my zalad order. All I want them to do is simply not put the buffalo sauce on the chicken and it always causes confusion at the drive thru; resulting me into repeating my order at least 3 times until I just drive away from the speaker and order at the window speaking directly to the person. Also kind of difficult getting in and out with the location of the restaurant. Overall, great food & AMAZING toast! read more

Shame on me for not checking but there's really nothing more irritating than having a drive thru get the order wrong. I love Zaxby's. I'm never disappointed with the delicious greasy goodness that is the Zaxby's menu . . . However, I was a bit disappointed with the service at this location recently. Upon finishing a yummy meal with my two girls, we refilled our beverages and stopped by the restroom on the way out. My daughter put her child-sized beverage on the counter next to the sink, and I accidentally knocked it off and spilled it on the floor of the restroom. I picked up the broken cup and lid and went to the counter to inform the staff that I spilled a drink in the restroom. It was my fault, and I did not want to leave without telling anyone because I didn't want anyone to slip and fall . . . However, the man that I spoke with at the counter, whom I believe may have been a manager, proceeded to literally roll his eyes and give me attitude about it . . . Frankly, I was shocked . . . I'm not some entitled soccer mom who enjoys complaining at a fast-food restaurant, I'm just a woman who didn't want anyone to slip and fall in the restroom because I spilled a beverage. The attitude and the eye roll I received was not necessary. So tired of them leaving stuff out on my order and when I spend $40 still wanting to charge for extra sauce. So over Zaxby's

This used to be our go to place for fast food chicken. The past two times our order was messed up. Our receipt was correct, but whoever completed the order didn't read the receipt. On May 16 our order was wrong. I didn't find out until I got home. On May 19 it was wrong again. This time I took my bag inside to get what was missing. After being ignored for a few minutes an employee asked me what I needed. I told him. I just wanted to get my food and get home before it got cold. He brought me a manager instead. Not only did this manager tell me I was wrong to my face, she told the employee not to worry about me because she knew he didn't make the error. When I told her I heard what she said, she looked me in the eye and said, "I'm glad." Wow. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? This woman has no business managing people. She can't even deal politely with customers. Never again. read more
