This was my first experience having the conveyor belt for sushi and I loved it! The fountain drinks are serve yourself, there is a miso soup serve yourself bar. A few dipping sauce options, and utensils. The sushi was very fresh and the rice was well seasoned. Every roll I tried was so good, my favorite was the Raleigh roll. The building is very clean and tidy. The servers came around and cleared our table periodically. My one suggestion is to bring in more vegetarian options with out cream cheese so I can bring my husband next time read more

It was overall an okay experience. Maybe I went at the wrong time but they had me wait 15 minutes for a booth even though there was one open and cleaned. The all you can eat is an ok price but you pay and that's it, if it's your first time then figure it out yourself, they don't tell you extra that's excluded either. Soup was good. Sushi wasn't cold at all and I feel like it should've been. The dessert was good and moist. Waiter wasn't happy to be there. And I think y'all could have more/better sushi options. read more

I have never been to a restaurant and disliked every dish I had. The quality and freshness of sushi at Rockin' Rolls was horrid. I let so many sushi rolls pass by because they looked like they had been circulating for hours. The seaweed salad was just thrown across the plate and looked picked over. The sushi to rice ratio was atrocious. Many pieces had paper thin pieces of fish sitting on a handful of rice. NONE of the sushi that came around looked appetizing except the spicy salmon which is the only sushi I was able to eat. The miso soup came from an automatic dispenser and it was bland and gross. I also tried the hibachi menu as the sushi wasn't even an option for me. For the shrimp hibachi, they serve you basically baby salad shrimp with the tail still on. The fried rice wasn't that great either. The only redeemable item from the menu were the fried chicken wings. They were surprisingly pretty good. The conveyer belt doors were also dirty and should be deep cleaned. Service was okay. With that being said, this is the cheapest AYCE sushi & hibachi place I have come across (less than $40 for two people) and you definitely get what you pay for. Ordered hibachi, twice, which never showed up over 30 minutes. After letting the one employee in the place know, we were told there was an issue in the kitchen but it would come out shortly. After 10 more minutes, nothing. Other tables were getting hot food, but not us. Complained again that we were not getting what we paid for with no help at all. Told again we could sit and wait more. For the price, I thought this place was great! It was really convenient just grabbing whatever you whatever from the conveyor belt, and not having to wave down a server. well this was terrible. the best part for me was the miso soup machine lol. service was super nice and they have gluten free options but the quality is just horrible, which i guess you get what you pay for. the edamame was frozen cold, sushi was stale and lukewarm. i was worried i was going to get food positing from this! the wonder of how long the sushi has been on that belt! the idea is so fun but i mean its a scary possibility of contamination and not adhering to food safety regulation - like everyone's glass doors were always open (they say not to do that but obviously people will do it anyway) . there was no salad for the dressing either. i am definitely not coming back here. just a reminder that cheap sushi is just not worth it read more

A little over priced for the quality. Very small selection for dinner prices on a Sunday lunch. The kids thought it was fun to pick and choose as it went by the table. We were near the beginning of the line so we never had the space on the belt be empty. Hibachi was average at best. I didn't have high expectations for quality but this fell short. Being SF transplants, we miss our sushi boat restaurants and I'm glad Raleigh has a conveyor belt option now. Arrived around 2:15pm, which means I caught them just before lunch service closed at 3pm. So keep this in mind when I say the fried sushi was not as fresh as one would like, but everything was pretty gosh darned tasty and service was kind. The value is definitely there, as you can order apps and entrées from the screen, while picking out what you like from the peripatetic menu items gliding by. Another plus is that you have all the sauces available along the drink bar area should you wish for more. The only dessert I liked was the 'cheesecake.' Others were dry and not worth finishing...but hey, money *not* wasted. Don't like it? Don't eat it. This was a big disappointment. We had been looking forward to trying this place out for awhile based on the rave review. To be honest, this was nothing more than a Chinese buffet experience, and gas station sushi probably tastes better than this sushi. The desserts were also terrible. You order these items on the tablet and they are brought to your table. Don't skip on the chicken the wings and skewers are so good! Expectations are important. There are some variety and they don't use filler like cream cheese , but there are not a lot of meat. They have to keep the cost low some how. You can order extra appetizer and hibachi, those portion is kinda small and I didn't try it. This is not a true conveyer sushi restaurant, there is no hot water dispenser at your table and the setup is not Japanese. It is still a fun place for family or you need a lot of calories. My mom and I decided to check out Rockin' Rolls Sushi for lunch last week and had a great time! For the price and all that you get, wow, this is one of the best deals on sushi that I have found! So, it is unlimited sushi for $14 for lunch. A drink is extra, but they do give you a free cup for water. Next to the drink section are all of the sauces that you could ever as for. Plus trays to take them to your table. The sushi is on this cool conveyor belt that runs throughout the restaurant. At each table are two sliding doors that gets you access to the sushi. The title of the rolls and a short description are in front of each roll. You can grab as many rolls as you want. Every roll we had, especially the Kani roll, were delicious! You can tell they are freshly made and just so yummy! In addition to the rolls there is also a screen where you can order appetizers and hibachi--all which is included in the price! So, you get sushi as well as hibachi with your cost! Wow! Of course with sushi I got full so fast, but I got to try ten different rolls between my mom and I! It isn't the best sushi I have had...but I lived in Japan for over 10 years, so I have a different bar to measure it by. It has plenty of sushi choices that are not covered in every sauce imaginable. (And their Raleigh roll is a great combination!) (FYI...It would be nice if the gyoza wasn't deep fried and crunchy. But cooking it the right way takes time and this really is "fast food".) The atmosphere is fun and my girls love the conveyor belt experience. It is clean and always well stocked. The staff is friendly and quick to respond if there is a need. Had no idea there was a conveyor belt sushi place in the area. I had been to one in Boston and love the concept. My niece mentioned going there for dinner, so off we went. When you go it is one price and all you can eat. That includes the sushi, salad and dessert on the belt AND you can order apps, kids items, rice and entress from the kitchen. Lunch is a little cheaper but I felt like the price is extremely reasonable. You do need to know you can't take any leftovers home. The plates ranged from 2 to 4 pieces each. Rockin' Rolls Sushi Express is great for the novelty. I haven't been to a conveyor belt sushi place since I was in high school, so I was super excited to see that Raleigh has one...and that it's all you can eat so you're not doing the math by the colors of the plates. I went in with low expectations, mainly because of the reviews. For $17.99/pp for dinner on a Sunday, the price can't be beat for the amount of food we ate. We did pay for soda which was a little more but we each had three refills, making it worth the price. When you walk in, you pay before you sit down. You can grab a tray and pour your own condiments into sauce cups and get soda on the way to your booth. We were sat at booth 1 which is next to the kitchen. Though it was a noisy area, we couldn't complain because we got first dibs on everything and didn't have to wait for the full rotation. We didn't really have any issues with a lack of options being that we were next to the kitchen. The only roll we waited for was the fried banana roll that my husband was obsessed with. We ordered from the kitchen and had at least 20 plates of sushi (probably each, if I were to be honest). Each plate has 2-4 pieces of sushi so it's nice to sample a little of everything. The Hotel Kalifornia roll was probably my favorite out of everything. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the Kani Salad. Everything else was decent and we ate more than we should have. Not to mention, we probably had 3 cakes, 3 brownies, and 2 pieces of cheesecake each...we definitely had our fair share for the day. Rockin' Roll is a fun place to pig out. You're not going to get top quality sushi but you are going to have a great time as long as you choose the right company to join you in the sin of overeating. The booths are nice because other customers aren't judging you on your glutinous behavior...so choose the right person to join you in this adventure. Would I go again? Of course! I did like that they had a wide variety of options. They even had dessert. Service was alright. We were seated at a dirty booth with food on the floor. Maybe they change it up everyday but I was not overwhelmed with options. The sushi is ok and everything was fresh. The flavors and roll selection were decent on flavor but some of the sauces they used actually tasted a bit watered down. I came right near the lunch opening so everything was coming out quickly and being consumed in short order. The staff was all very friendly and someone did check in on me to make sure I was doing all right. Seems like a really fun concept. The sauces, wasabi, and ginger are all next to the fountain machine and you just help yourself. Once you pay at the register and get your seat you are pretty much on your own to enjoy. When you walk in you are seated, but everything else, is pretty much self serve- the drinks, the sauces/condiments, and the food! There is a conveyer belt that runs through the whole place, and a little slider door at your table to simply open, pick up the sushi & close the door. There is also a tablet at your table to special order any non sushi items like gyoza, egg rolls, wings, tempura, etc. that is then dropped off at your table! The only critic I have is the quality. Just made my first and last trip to this place. I'm not a sushi eater but my daughters wanted to come, so I brought them with the intention of ordering a drink and appetizer for myself. However, the hostess informed me that I had to pay the full $18 and couldn't order anything separately. I told her not to worry about it, but then said I had to pay the $18 just to sit down inside. I tried the crab Rangoon, Philly roll, Raleigh roll and salmon roll. The rangoons were not bad, but I've had much better. They were lacking in flavor, and maybe I am crazy, but they had a buttery taste to them. No sauce came with them. The Salmon roll was also a bit lacking in flavor, but the rice was perfect. The Raleigh roll, which many on here recommend, was tasty, and the best of the bunch. The Philly roll was average. Just OK. But again, I've had better. I'm not a fan of sushi, but we were celebrating my friend's birthday, so there I was. My friend liked the sushi and filled up on it, especially the Richmond roll. I tried the California roll (the only sushi I eat), which was decent, though not outstanding. I also used the iPad to order the hibachi chicken with vegetables. It was fine--well cooked and seasoned, with a little bit of zucchini and broccoli thrown in. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. They must have recently changed their rule about having customers clear their own tables.
