Just leaving our first ever Zaxby's experience and all I can say was the chicken was good...but that's the only good thing about the place. Saturday at 6 and the crew barely acknowledged us even though there was only one table eating food, one family in front of us and one other group after us, but at least 6 staff. The girl who looked more of a manager type was too busy with the drive up (which only had two cars I believe) to be bothered with a lot - more on that below. Got our food and the chicken, bacon, ranch fries didn't have a fork. Over 5 min later I finally got someone to acknowledge I was waiting and then she seemed annoyed I was asking for something. Never mind, the people who got their food ahead of us also had issues - one guy was missing sauce and the other family had the wrong food - we all stood there waiting for someone to help us. The girl with the head set manning the drive up went to ask some guy who was washing windows to come help, which he did but immediately went to take another order. Head set girl walked by all of us waiting two times without acknowledging any of us! Then she announced an order for someone else and we all stared at her in disbelief that she wasn't going to help us! That's when she seemed annoyed we all needed something. Additional issues: ketchup packets were sticky from ketchup, the cheese on the loaded fries was barely warm let alone melted, fries were lukewarm (but that could be because mine sat as I waited for a fork) and trash cans turned so you couldn't use one set. It's almost like they were getting ready to close and trying to have less work later, but they were open until 9! Overall, terrible experience. My boyfriend and I stopped by the drive through. We were stuck in town while traveling, and we were tired of gas station snacks. We should have gone to a gas station instead. The pros: My chicken sandwich tasted like chicken. it wasn't very busy, and I may understand why. The cons: The woman at the drive through was very rude. She shoved our food in our car without saying a word. They also got our order wrong. My boyfriend ordered the nuclear wings (his regular order, by the way) but the wings he got were much hotter. I can handle spice and like to torture myself, and even then the sauce was too much for me when I tried a wing. Have you ever had the blazing sauce from Buffalo Wild Wings? It was even hotter than that. We were in actual pain over how hot it was. Do not recommend. Popeyes would probably treat you better. read more

I went by on a Tuesday evening and went through the drive thru. You can't access the restaurant from a stoplight - making it more of a hassles to access, which may not necessarily be something that was in their control when they built the restaurant. The employees working were just standing around talking when I pulled up to the window. Which, I understand how that goes, I do it too at work. But it got under my skin, especially considering that I didn't get my drink. I didn't realize I didn't get it until I was part of the way across town - and I didn't feel like turning around and getting it. And the chicken strips aren't the best I've had, either. read more

Really disappointed in this place. Every time we come here, there's always issues. We have given it a chance 3 times and today is the last. Waited 20 min for our food. Plenty of staff and not busy at all. Turns out we were forgotten about and our food was just sitting there dying while workers were just standing there talking to each other. Only good thing I can say Is that the workers are polite. We ate our room temperature food because we didn't have the time to wait for fresh food. I always make a point to hit up Zaxby's when heading east from St louis. Honestly I'm never really "impressed" but its one of those things where I keep coming back just because its something different. Anyway, with this being the last Zaxby's before St louis, I hit the drive thru and ordered two 4 piece meals to share with the family. I'll start by saying that for some reason they were very busy on this Sunday evening. It didn't seem like it when I pulled up, but I also didn't realize that the 4 cars parked off to the side were all waiting for their food. Needless to say we too waited over 20 minutes for ours. I can't really complain however because everything really was fresh, and right out of the fryer, extremely hot and sizzling. The toast however was very disappointing, just dry toasted and unbuttered bread, and the fries (while crispy) were totally lacking salt. The chicken too was bland, but once again it was as fresh as possible and the Zax sauce that came with it took care of the otherwise bland chicken. So in summary its nothing special. Sure I've had better, but I've also had far worse. I try to refrain from comparing one place to another in my reviews but in this case I can confidently say that if your just looking for drive thru chicken fingers, Raising Canes is a much better experience. Zaxby's however has a lot bigger menu than Canes so that's something to consider as well. Will I be back? Yeah, I'll be back... Maybe not this location or time of day, but I'm sure it'll happen again. read more

Our order has been wrong several times. I've given them chance after chance. But, I'm always disappointed. I love the salads. However, the drive thru employees are consistently rude. If I'm spending my money, I expect to be treated with the same respect I give. Not just isolated incidents. Literally, all the time. Ok so the food at this place is good and I have eaten here pretty regularly but if you dare to go in there late you won't get any service. A couple months ago I went in there about 30 minutes until closing and they was not happy to see customers our food was undercooked and service wasn't good. So then I go back in tonight at 8:30. Again the place is cleaned up and ready to be shut down. So we went ahead and ordered and went to get tea and they said they was out so I asked if they could make some. We saw the commercials about Caribbean Jerk boneless wings so we went on Sunday after church, the lot was half full and we went in and checked the menu above the counter since we had never been there, my wife ordered the boneless jerk wings and the clerk said (with an attitude) we are out of boneless wings and with a frustrated look just pointed to a printed sign on the front of the cash register stating they were out of boneless wings ! A new food spot in Paducah! Welcome to the restaurant capital of the world (at least per capita). Add this to the new booming area on the west side of town, there's no lack for yummy food places. In fact, "yummy" is the perfect description for this place. The food is very good, but other factors keep this in the 3-star area. Just so everyone knows, 5-stars are reserved the best of the best and I can't imagine a chain place getting a 5. By definition, 5-stars is "as good as it gets" and if it's a chain...that's not really true, right? I will say that the service was 5-star, though. It was as good as it gets! Well done! This place has great food, my favorite is the Kickin' Chicken and it is great. Spicy chicken with ranch on Texas toast. Can't beat it. The fries are crinkle cut and seasoned, so good. I've heard the salads are great, but I can't really speak to that. As far as the product goes, I'm not a fan of the fully automated fountain machines that Coke is installing and they have one. They are slow and there are far too many choices for a child to work through. Takes FOREVER! What's the downfall? The cost. We fed our family last night and it was twice the price of McDonalds or Wendy's. I understand paying more than Burger King, but not twice as much. This should really be in the same price range as Steak N' Shake or Chik-Fil-A, but it's a lot more than that. I don't see that changing anytime soon, so this will just have to be a splurge for this family. read more

Was down in the Shawnee Hills and was delighted to discover a Zaxby's nearby. Great Chicken Chain with big delicious platters and sandwiches. Thick meaty french fries the way they are best. This location is a hit or miss, you really never know what you're going to get. Some days you get fresh, hot food with good seasoning... but most days you get cold, stale chicken fingers and fries. Here lately they aren't cooking the fries all the way, so they are very soggy and they aren't putting the seasoning on the fries (which is my favorite thing) and the bread is either way too soggy or hard as a rock. They had gotten a lot better for a few months and now the crew is definitely slacking again. The last few times we've been, we have not been greeted or treated in a friendly manner whatsoever. It's like shoving your food at you and be on your way, a smile and a thanks or have a good day would go a long way!! There's a bunch of rude employees, and I don't think they are supervised! Fresh chicken tenders every visit. When we have eaten inside the service has always been good. The drive through workers have been a little less than friendly however. For the price and it being fast food it's a good place for a quick bite. The salads are tasty as well! read more
