I've been here more times than I could count; but, this is the first time it's even clicked with me to do a review. Just cause it's take out doesn't mean it's not as important right?? So since my WLS I've turned a lot to salads and the is the best place to get a good salad in Shelbyville. Located right off US60 this Zaxby's is always busy. The service is always great and for you ice lovers they have the best ice around. I seriously go there just for a large pink lemonade sometimes...no joke. Today I ordered the Cobb salad. Iceberg lettuce with the perfect amount of tomatoes, cheese, cucumbers, bacon, fried onions and hard boiled egg. You get to choose your chicken: grilled or fried. You also get two pieces of Texas toast which of course I don't indulge on anymore but it is tasty from what I remember. read more

The food is solid and I have rarely had anything negative to say. Some of the best salads available in a fast food restaurant. Also, the drive thru moves pretty fast even when they are very busy. You will pay more than other fast food places though. read more

Not sure what's up with this place. Drive through NEVER open according to business hours. Inside closed at 9:00. Drive through supposed to be open until 10:0. You visit this place, they have come blocking off the drive through before 9:00. Avoid them. read more

Dear restaurant goers If your looking for good chicken and large portions this is your place. If your looking for several dipping sauce options well then you may have a problem. It's okay though. The food is always fresh. You just have to wait for them to make it for you. It's a step up from fast food and a step down from fine dinning. The ambiance is also a plus. Let's be real I'm only here for the Zalads. Yes I said that. The cob salad is my favorite. I sometimes struggle to finish the salad because it's such a larger portion. They say get the half portion. First time getting food from this Zaxby's. Second Zaxby's visit ever. Don't know if I'll ever go again. I'm not taking stars away because of the type of restaurant this is. I'm comparing it to Popeye's and Chic fil a. I like Popeyes's spicy chicken sandwich. I like it better than Zaxby's. They did manage to put fried chicken on the wife's salad instead of grilled that was ordered. No big deal. It was destined for the dogs either way. The fried cheese curds weren't bad but they aren't as good as they get cold. The fried mushrooms were ok but they are slices instead of whole mushrooms. This place is fine. They have a bunch of deep fryers and some young kids willing to run them. read more

Zaxby's is a bit pricey for fast food but never-the-less I decided I needed to give the newly built location a try. After observing it for the first month of operation I decided with all the cars that are constantly filling the lot and drive thru there must really be something that's a hit at this restaurant. The new location has a much larger dining room than the previous location and appears to be kept clean. The drive thru always has cars in it and seems to flow fairly rapidly. The display boards that list the items include calorie count behind each item. Unfortunately, Zaxby's is part of a chain restaurant. The menu has not changed and the food is consistent with that of the chain. Knowing that the salads are not ultra healthy I decided to splurge on an appetizer if I was going to get the true Zaxby's experience. So Buffalo Chicken dip and Taters were ordered. (What in the world was I thinking!) The buffalo chicken dip comes in a medium/small size bowl and is chopped chicken with buffalo sauce mixed thru. The Taters are thinly slice potatoes, fried golden brown and generously sprinkled with a seasoning salt. My order had a number of potatoes that had stuck together during the frying and came out rather soggy and greasy. On the side is a container of Ranch dressing. Calorie count for this order is slightly over 1,000 so I ate half and threw the other half out. Unfortunately even half an order was too rich for my system and I became violently ill for the afternoon. I can't hold that against Zaxby's but I can make the conscience decision that this restaurant is not for me! My rating would be two stars but to be fair to the business the restaurant is A-Ok if you like salty, greasy food. They certainly do not hide from the nutritional information so it's up to the consumer to choose. read more

Was upset first because couldn't understand person on speaker. Then couldn't get my sandwich the way I wanted it, so I cancelled it and ordered a salad and it came in a take out box and wasn't worth what I paid for it and the girl that took over window told me she was sorry I couldn't understand the person on speaker. Ordered a house salad in the drive thru. I checked the bag for the dressing to find they had given wrong dressing packets. I had to park and go inside to get the right dressing. Got home to find the salad had no tomato or cucumber as advertised. If I just wanted a salad mix, I could have gotten at Kroger for a lot less $$. Not impressed and won't be back. read more

Visiting from out of state I paid my first visit ever to Zaxby's. I ordered The Blue salad, "baffaloed" style. It was a BIG salad for the money, and was very tasty. The fried chicken chunks had a lot of zip, and I really liked the fried onions on top. I'd definitely return when travelling through the south again. My Zabys in Shelbyville Kentucky usually provides great service and great food.This experience on 10-21-2014 I was very disappointed when the girl they had at the register was scratching down her shirt and digging in her hair as she was taking my order! I was so disgusted I decided to tell the manager. Of course he apologizes and still allowed the employee to work the front. I did not see him do anything about the problem and as I was eating my food I continued to watch the girl scratch all of her self in discussed. I'm not sure if I will ever eat here again. Incompetent. Utterly and completely incompetent. If I sit in your drive thru for 15 minutes, my order better be right. I ordered 1 nibbler and an I sweet tea. I got 2 chicken finger and fries in a box and a cup of tea with no ice. I parked my car and went inside to get my food corrected. I got a disgusting burnt bun with a half of a chicken finger inside of it. How in the world is this place even in business? Why is the drive thru line 15 minutes long at 3:30 on a Tuesday?! read more
