I ordered pick up through Door Dash. We got the Hawaiian Fajita and Pollo con Arroz. The flavor was good, but the meal was inedible because the meat was so tough and full of gristle. And not like one or two pieces were that way, every piece of steak and chicken was that way. It was so disappointing. My fajitas also had giant chunks of onions, not slices, but an entire half of an onion. The rice and beans were very good, even the side of lettuce, tomatoes and guacamole were all fresh. So I don't know if we just got extremely unlucky with our meals. But it was bad enough of an experience that we will not be back. read more

IA dinner visit with my mother. My food, Fiesta Veggies with chicken. I asked for my chicken not to be overcooked. As my carry out prior, had to be thrown out. Chicken was rubber & my cat would not eat the chicken!! Order was delivered. My entire plate was burnt, chicken overcooked, carrots & broccoli were burnt to the extent there was a burnt taste to the dish. I sent my plate back!!!! It arrived back with 1/4 cup of overcooked small pieces of chicken. I picked at my meal & could not eat. It's been over a year since this restaurant burned to the ground in downtown Shelbyville. GOOD NEWS, they're back except at a new bigger location. The first month after the restaurant opened there was absolutely no room to park at either lunch or dinner time. This past Friday I finally spotted parking at lunch time. The report from lunch is they still have many of the same servers. I was also told the cooks are the same ones that were at the previous popular location. Lunch specials are $5.75 except for Special #8 which is $6.50 I personally chose #8 because it has my all time favorite Chile Relleno. It is accompanied by one taco, beans and guacamole salad. It fills two large dinner plates and was absolutely perfect. Fortunately, I hadn't filled up on the endless chips and salsa before lunch was served. I did snack on a few and tried the two salsas which were fair but nothing to exclaim about. The restaurant offers a Children's Menu that costs $4.99 and includes a soft drink. Dinner choices are plentiful and range from $8.50 - $17.99 with most falling in the mid range of $10.99 - $11.99 They have a liquor license and serve Margaritas, Daiquiris, Imported & Domestic Beers, Wine, and Homemade Sangria. I'll be back to sample some of the other tempting dishes. read more

First time here since the business burnt down. Based on hours for store and sign on door saying open my group and a few others entered the building, was seated by the hosted and then minutes later we were told that there would be a wait on taking orders as "nothing in the kitchen was ready". It would have been the right thing to tell us before we were seated or to not put the open sign on the door. Also they didn't take our drink orders for another 15 minutes. We were the first group through the door, ordered water and the last to get our drinks. Lunch specials were a good deal and the variety of menu from lunch, appetizers, items was big. They had an unusual dessert called fried ice cream I might try on a day I had some calories to spare. The food tasted decent but edged on the bland side. Spices and seasoning was lacking, and many things were watery tasting. Service was friendly but very slow compared to the small amount of groups there. So pros if you're looking for a cheap lunch and you don't mind piling on some hot sauce and wasting some time his is your place. Cons if you value your time, want some flavor in your life and if the many other Mexican restaurants in shelbyville are open; you should not come here until they improve device and food. read more

Food was pretty good, but service could have been better. I blame a good chunk of this on COVID-19 since it introduces a new challenge for all restaurants, but some have adapted better than others. The layout of the restaurant entrance is difficult to wait for a table with limited seating capacity and can take some time. Even the seating layout is challenging to maneuver through with many walls and restroom locations being confusing. Went here for the first time with friends for a leisurely late lunch on a Sunday and were able to take our time, hang out, and not feel rushed, which was nice. The place wasn't packed, the ambiance; Mexi-kitsch... It was quiet enough to talk. The chips were fresh cooked and the dipping sauces were ordered were decent, though, under-seasoned. The food came out hot and fresh. I had chicken enchiladas and the chicken was well cooked. It was a bit bland, for my tastes, but, all in all, not bad. Decent margaritas on the rocks, very large and inexpensive. Large food portions, but sometimes the food isn't really what is expected. Ordered pork carnitas and got a pile of shredded pork with peppers and onions mixed in. While this was good, it isn't really what I ordered and was for sure out of a pan with water mixed in judging by how much juice ran out of it that wasn't broth. The service was quick and the servers were all friendly, but it isn't some where that I would make a special trip back for. read more

This restaurant is the worst when it comes to serve. We placed our order and 30+ minutes later after two waiters noticed we haven't gotten our food. We finally got our food and they forgot the ranch dressing for a salad. After we finished eating waited another 10+ minutes for the check. I don't know what happened, but this was the worst visit I've ever had here. 6 months ago everything was perfect. Today, it looked like they were cleaning the walls behind the booths and just quit halfway through. One booth was sticking out right in front of the register. There was trash all over the floor and my silverware was literally DIRTY. Like food pieces still on it. The food was definitely not as good as my last visit. Frankly the wet burrito is one of the best I have ever had and I have had A LOT of burritos. My son's carnitas was great too. I love Mexican food but I was not feeling this day we went as a group of 13 and they put us all the way in the back in a corner that we had to keep moving for people to get by.
