I am not usually a chinese buffet fan. Usually everything is very sweet and kind of tastes the same. On the few occasions I find myself at a buffet, I feel that if I find one thing that I like I'm doing OK. I found a couple of things here. The mongolian pork was good. Tasted like hoison sauce with a touch of heat. The chicken with jalapeños was pretty good as well. I'm not sure where they are getting their jalapeños this time of year but they are pretty hot. You have to choose wisely. Some stuff sits around while other stuff gets replaced more quickly. One tip, Do Not eat buffet sushi! If the buffet is at Churchill Downs during the Oaks that's one thing, but if it's in Shelbyville off of route 55 that's another. This buffet does a fairly brisk lunch and most everything is hot. 3.5 stars is probably more appropriate but 4 is not unreasonable. EVERYTHING on the buffet was ice cold. Place was practically empty so I should have known I was going to get shafted.

We have been very hesitant to order from here but decided to give it a shot because we don't love the other Chinese options in Shelbyville. We ordered take out around 7:30p. The food was ready pretty quickly and very hot. We could tell it was fresh and overall tasted great. This will definitely be our go to Chinese take out. This place takes doesn't have everything to choose from that you can order online. It used to have a counter where they cooked in front of you and it not there anymore (sad). It's a Friday night and this place doesn't have very many folks here. The prices are high even for kids meals. We was told different price on phone than what they charged you here. This place has been around for a long time, ever since I was a child. It once was booming and was very clean and always busy. Very simple while in the wall Chinese Buffett they will either be just okay at best or absolutely the worst you've had. Very little meat and mostly breading as well as the Buffett lines don't seem to be warm enough. The food is often cool. read more

Asian Buffet is our go to restaurant for delivery. It always arrives hot and we have several favorites. Sweet and Sour Chicken, Chicken Egg Rolls, Beef Brocolli, Crab Rangoon, Chicken Lo Mein, Bourbon Chicken, Honey Chicken, Moo Goo Gai Pan, . They give large servings so you can go back and eat leftovers later in the night. Great service!! We like to eat in the buffet too, but since all restaurants are closed right now due to COVID-19 we have to order or pickup. We prefer to order. Yum Yum! It's an Asian buffet. So you know what to expect. The people are very friendly. They have Soups, salad, sushi, and the usual foods. They sometime vary- the rice is yellow instead of traditional fried rice though. ‍ they also have several flavors of hand-dipped ice cream. You can order delivery or carry out. The restaurant opens for lunch at 11 am so I planned to be there before any noon rush at 11:30. The food looks great and I carefully selected items that wouldn't be too far off my low carb eating. The taste and temperature of the food left a lot to be desired! Worse yet, after lunch I got a huge stomach ache which doesn't happen to me very often. Honestly I would give this 0 stars. We haven't been to Asian Buffet in probably 7 years because of how disgusting it became. I saw a recent Facebook review that they had made changes and it was clean now. Well, we gave it a second chance and no...while I didn't see bugs anymore, it had not improved. The staff was nice. The buffet food was either cold, chewy, or empty. The vegetables were under cooked. Noodles had a weird after taste. The rice was hard. We ended the night with my daughter having food poisoning. We've never had any issues with the Asian Buffet. We've ordered takeout from here countless times over the past two or three years, due to them being the only place that delivers to my address. They've always been good for us. My only real complaint is that you can't get bourbon chicken online. read more

We were very impressed by Asia Buffet! We were staying at a hotel and ordered delivery online. The online system was very user friendly! Delivery was much faster than estimated online and the portions were bigger than expected, given the price. The delivery guy was also very polite. On top of that, the food was delicious! read more

Ordered $20 worth of food. They said it would be delivered by 7:00 pm. It arrived half an hour late, the food leaked in the bag, and when I ate it, all of it was flavorless. It tasted gross. All the tasted melded together and left an awful taste in my mouth. Not even the egg drop soup was good. I would be more satisfied with a boxed mix and that's saying something. This place was awful everything on the buffet looked to be sitting around for some time so we ordered of the menu we ordered egg drop soup which was cooked with the egg yoke so that part of the soup looked to be green, we also got fried rice with pork which the pork was dry and the rice was Grease and than we also ordered fried chicken wings I eat 2 of the 8 they taste like they were cooked in burnt oil I truly hope we don't get sick because we have an 8 hour drive back to NC in the morning read more

I always order the same thing (creature of habit) 1 larger beef & shrimp lo-mein, 1 large shrimp lo-mein, and 1 large shrimp fried rice. The food... always delicious. My problem is... after repeatedly (3-4 times mind you) telling them that I have no interest in soy sauce but I'd like "extra duck and hot mustard sauce" my order always shows up soy heavy with little to no duck and mustard (tonight I had 15+ soy, 5 duck, and ABSOLUTELY NO HOT MUSTARD!!!)
