The newest offering in the W hotel is fantastic. Heavy on Greek favorites, and done very well. The pita bread alone will leave you amazed. Pair it with the hummus and you will be transported to the little Greek Isle you visited one summer. Add a glass of Greek rosé and you might even forget you are in Nashville. Pro Tip: Great Happy Hour at the bar.

Food, waiter, and decor was all on point. I have been wanting to eat at one of Jose's restaurants ever since I found out about his humanitarian work. They have a wonderful happy hour that we took advantage of. Hummus was only $5! You can't find an appetizer in Nashville for that price. The hummus was delicious but I didn't love the bread. It was still good just not my favorite pita. I also ordered a margarita that was . If I didn't have to drive I would have ordered a 2nd one. I also ordered the scallops and that dish was phenomenal, specifically because of the tzaziki sauce that it came with. I also tasted some of my friends cheese flatbread. It was an elevated basic pizza but it was addictive. I would order that next time. Oh how could I forget the cauliflower? It was also tasty. Out serve Andreas was delightful and attentive. I will definitely be back.

Absolutely giving this place five stars -- even considering how recently they old and in Nashville. I was able to snag a reservation for 7 people on Wednesday for a work dinner. We ordered a couple of chef's experience courses and a lot of other food, plus drinks and dessert. We fit comfortably at a round table inside, with plenty of space for the million plates of food. We were able to converse easily (usually you have a long table and it's hard to speak across/down). Our server was open and honest, knowledgeable and accommodating. The drinks came out timely and the food was well paced. It wasn't a dinner with so many courses and so much time that you are stuck for 3-4 hours. I was honestly really impressed with the pace and the table touches. All of the food was amazing. Everything was hot/cold as it was expected to be, extremely flavorful, fresh and fun. We tried so many different things and nothing stuck out as a "no" for next time. The tirokafteri (Harissa spiced goat cheese puree, toasted pine nuts, honey, mint) was an instant hit and we could have eaten 5 bowls. I loved all of the kebabs that we tried, and both the mushroom and the chicken celebration rices. The falafel was also great, and one of the better ones I've had this past year. We had a mix of cocktails, wine and beer and everyone was happy with their orders. Truly impressed and can't recommend enough -- I will be back!

I've been to the Zaytinya location in DC before, and I was anxiously looking forward to a reservation at the Nashville outpost. Located in the first level of the W hotel, it's a very pretty place. We asked to be seated outside, and had a lovely table on their terrace. While we waited a little bit until after they opened so that the kinks would be ironed out, we noted that it took the front desk team about five minutes per party to ask them for their information and determine where they were going to be seated. That means they can only seat 12 parties an hour, but from the size of the place, they have many, many more tables than that. Maybe they need to work on that a bit. Our server was friendly, and handled our BYO bottles well. The corkage fee was $50 per, which was a little high for Nashville. In addition, we ordered a bottle from their well curated selection of Greek whites, and we are used to Nashville restaurants waiving a corkage fee for each bottle that we order from their list. That didn't happen this visit, so I'm deducting a star for that, because, frequent readers of my reviews know that I judge a restaurant on service, food, wine list, and handling bottles that we always bring to dinner from our cellar. The food was delicious, as it always is at a Jose Andres restaurant. I particularly like their version of pita bread, which is light and very puffy. We ordered a variety of dips, vegetables, seafood, and the kebab platter. Everything was delicious, but the french fries were just ordinary, and I wouldn't order them again. Additionally, they forgot to bring bread to accompany the kebab course, which we saw as a fail.. The waiter did stop by and apologize after we finished the kebab; they would've been much better with the bread. Dinner for four, with two corkage fees and $120 bottle of good assyrtiko was $500 with tip. Not a bargain by any means, but the quality and taste were worth the price charged. If you are looking for a Greek/Lebanese/Turkish dinner, with an elevated vibe, give Zaytinya a try.

I have been to Zaytinya in DC and loved it there, so was excited to try it locally. I love Jose Andres and this did not disappoint. What a great addition to this spot, as the previous restaurant was mehhhhh. First off, we did not make a reservation (we had previously looked and saw that there were spots available, so we decided to take our chances since we weren't sure what time we'd be available), but we were able to get right in. It looked like we got one of the last tables, though! The place is vibey. Great spot for a date night or out with friends! Really wonderful decor and an aesthetic vibe. We tried a few different dishes and I can't wait to go back when I'm more hungry and do the Chef's Experience. The service was fantastic and the only negative thing I'll say is I think the Celebration Rice is a tad bit overpriced. However, with all the good that Chef Jose Andres does, I'll pay it. All of the food was delicious and well prepared. Nice portions, fresh baked pita bread was fantastic and they will just keep bringing you more, and I'd say the W has a win with this one. Highly recommend the adana kebab and the halloumi. They were the standouts. Followed closely by the brussels sprouts! Park across the street or find street parking!

Was excited to try this one! Restaurant is beautiful and vibey - great spot for a night out or a date. The service was also top notch - our server was able to assist with recommendations and all the support staff were super attentive as well. For drinks, we tried the Melissa old fashioned, the espresso in Chios, and ancient olive. All were great, but the call outs were definitely the ancient olive and the espresso in Chios. The ancient olive is basically a deconstructed dirty martini (I don't normally love gin, but the olive oil washed gin was fantastic) and the espresso in Chios has a banana vibe to it - super unique! For food, we enjoyed tirokafteri (I am a sucker for goat cheese), the Brussels, the seared halloumi, and kebab platter. Our favorites were definitely the kebab platter (the kofte is a MUST) and the Brussels. If we had to skip something, we likely would have left out the halloumi. It was good, but not the stand out for the night. Dessert was truthfully the only miss for the night. We tried both the olive oil cake and the blackberry olive oil sorbet. Both were fine, but likely won't order dessert next time. All in all, it was a 4/5 experience. The atmosphere, drinks, and food were worth the hype! Cheers

New restaurant under the W! The prior restaurant here was such a letdown and it makes me so happy that something so good is here now. We got the harissa spiced goat cheese, tzatziki, olive oil with pomegranate syrup, calamari with garlic yogurt and the lamb pita. The harissa spiced goat cheese I could buy by the gallon if it was offered. The combination of slight spice from the harissa and sweetness of the honey was incredible. Lick the plate clean good. The calamari was good, not chewy, and breaded lightly. The calamari was a little fishy to me but overall great. It paired fantastic with the garlic yogurt. The taziki sauce I would say was just okay, but definitely not bad by any means. A traditional taziki taste with large cucumber chunks. The lamb pita was interesting, it was chopped lamb, that seems to be fire or pit roasted. It actually had a mostly barbecue taste to me versus lamb flavor. Slightly dry, but overall great. I would say this place is on the same level if not better than Aba without the insane wait times, although im sure that will change. The ancient olive drink is basically a deconstructed martini with minced olives and the solid olives beside that. The interior has live plants with low hanging dimly lit chandeliers. Overall give this place a try before it blows up in popularity!

We had previously been to the old restaurant that occupied this space and had such a bad experience, so we were honestly a little nervous to come back. But after seeing all the great ads and reviews, we decided to give Zaytinya a try -- and we are SO glad we did. Hang with me because it's a long review, but worth the read! First off, the decor is a great revamp from the previous place. The vibes were great right away. We sat at the bar before our reservation and they had the garage doors open since the weather was nice, which made the whole space feel airy and lively. I ordered the Za'atar margarita -- great flavor and the foam was a fun touch, but it was very salty and honestly made my lips feel a little chapped. Jonathan got the ancient olive, which is definitely more of an experience drink (basically a deconstructed dirty martini). The juiced olives were something I'd never had before and easily the best part of the drink. Once we were seated, our server Trinity was super informative and friendly. She answered all of our questions and gave great recommendations. Toward the very end we did feel slightly rushed, but nothing major. We went with the chef's selection with the optional wine pairing and I HIGHLY recommend adding the pairing -- it truly elevated the entire meal. We left extremely full and very happy. First Course (white wine - paired really well) - The tirokafteri was a 10/10, no notes. I completely understand why it sold out within the first few days of opening. I would've licked the plate if it were socially acceptable. The hommus had amazing flavor and I loved the chili sauce, though the sesame flavor was a bit strong for me (Jonathan loved it). The baba ghannouge isn't usually my favorite dish, so it wasn't a standout for me, but I still ate it. Also, the bread was described as a "very thin football shape" and that description was hilariously accurate -- light, warm, and perfect for the dips without making you overly full. Second Course (with an AMAZING rosé pairing):The tabbouleh was okay on its own, but when eaten with the shrimp (per our server's recommendation) it was SO good. The shrimp was delicious -- loved the dill, mustard, and lemon combination. The falafel was slightly overcooked but still very flavorful, especially with the pickles and tomatoes. The black eyed peas completely surprised us. Neither of us typically like black eyed peas, but this dish had such complex flavor that we both genuinely enjoyed it. Not sure I'd order it on its own, but I'd happily eat it again. Third Course (red wine pairing):The Brussels sprouts were incredible -- perfectly cooked with a sweet and savory sauce that was to die for. The lamb chop was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. I'm not a huge lamb person so I wouldn't order it for myself, but it was undeniably good. Jonathan, who loves lamb, said he'd order it as a main in a heartbeat. The Iberico pork souvlaki was the favorite of the course. I loved that you could mix bites with the roasted tomato or peppers and switch between the sweeter and spicier flavors -- both were fantastic. Dessert (with dessert wine -- YUM):The banana pudding had real bananas but leaned slightly artificial in flavor for me, and again the sesame notes were a bit strong. Jonathan mentioned he prefers a thicker pudding in general. The Greek yogurt with apricots was another 10/10. Perfect flavor, perfect consistency, no notes. Overall, such a redemption experience for this location. Great atmosphere, beautiful updated decor, thoughtful service, and a chef's tasting + wine pairing that made the whole night feel special. Would absolutely come back.

This place is a VIBE! Love the decor & aesthetic. And Valet is validated, which is SO appreciated as a single girl in heels. ‍ I did the Chef's Experience and it was the highlight of my month. The food just kept on coming. We got both bread and vegetables for dipping. The hummus was SO flavorful but my favorite was the goat cheese dip. (Tirokafteri) I LOVED the sautéed shrimp with dill. I don't think I've ever had that flavor combination before and it was delicious. The Iberico Pork was FANTASTIC. So flavorful. I was quite literally sad when it was gone. The Brussel sprouts were divine. We licked the plate clean of whatever that magical sauce was. And the lamb chops with broccolini? I could've eaten a whole plate of that. This place is a flavor explosion. Every single dish. My brain was trying to figure out what is that spice or flavors and combinations I've never had before. Which is really exciting. And for dessert? My favorite was the Greek Yogurt Apricots soaked in vanilla. Light. Sweet. But not too heavy. The perfect way to end a meal. The service was five stars. So attentive. 10 out of 10 highly recommend IG Lillypulitzerstylist

Had a wonderful experience with my friends at Zaytinya. I'm not too familiar with Mediterranean food and my server did a really good job explaining the dishes and ingredients. Complimentary valet was really nice for it being in downtown Nashville. I recommend bringing a small group and sharing a bunch of mezze small plates like the brussels, kebabs, and flatbread pides. Beautiful restaurant inside too

The food was beautiful, the space was pretty but the flavor and service fell short. We had to request an explanation of the menu - usually higher end restaurants lead with that. Especially when it is a tapas style restaurant. Service was also slow; not the food - just the waitress taking order, filling glasses and bringing checks. The people running the food and clearing plates rocked and clearly worked so hard. Our table of 7 said we would return for the French fries - so don't miss those.

The spinach fatayer and arnabeet, though, were great. As two people who don't usually love beets, the arnabeet totally surprised us--you really don't taste much beet, and the cauliflower shines. The spinach fatayer was fluffy with a perfectly seasoned filling. Our mains came with a small side of the Epice salad. It was fine, but probably wouldn't order it on its own. I got the za'atar roasted chicken and it was cooked perfectly--super moist on the inside with deliciously crispy skin. The yogurt sauce it sits on was amazing; I just wish there was more of it. Jonathan ordered the lamb shank, and wow. It was fall-off-the-bone tender and such a hearty, comforting cold-weather dish. Food came out so quickly--we were in and out in about an hour, which was a huge plus. We were too full for dessert, but everything looked incredible and definitely gives us a reason to come back. Shoutout to Steven for great service and spot-on recommendations. Great vibes and amazing food all around.

We were certainly excited to try Uzbek food, as there's nowhere that serves it where we live. The restaurant doesn't look like too much from the outside and the parking lot is a little run down. However, the inside is very updated and super clean and comfortable. There's lots of seating, what appears to be a private room in the back, and some high-tech features, like a machine that you can use to alert waitstaff if you need a refill, a to-go box, or any other kind of attention. The bathrooms were also immaculate. Service was a little strange. I wouldn't say it was slow - every time we placed an order or had a request, our food or items were promptly brought out to us. However, the challenge came in getting the attention of our waitresses. Two ladies took care of us, alternating based on availability. One was very nice and friendly, the other a little gruff and irritable-seeming. But both were completely averse to coming in and checking on us without one of us flagging them down. Perhaps they're used to the little machines? I don't like using those because they come across as too demanding; I'd prefer to just be visited and checked in on from time to time by staff. Not so here. Despite not being very busy, our visit took a lot of time, even though the actual food service was fairly quick. Onto the food, the most important part. We ordered a lot because I wanted to experience as many unique dishes as possible. One waitress first brought out a complimentary serving of pita and what I believe was suzma, which the menu describes as a yogurt-based cheese. This was one of the highlights of our meal, actually, as the pita was hot, fresh, and very lightly charred. The suzma went very well with it. Then we ordered a chicken somsa and some Uzbek bread. The chicken somsa was alright; the pastry was delightfully flaky, but for me it was way too onion-forward. The Uzbek bread was another highlight. It was a temperature and textural delight - so warm and fluffy - if not a flavor bomb. It was great to polish off the remaining suzma from our complimentary treat. For entrees, my husband wanted to try the signature osh, while I ordered chicken shashlik. The osh was probably the better of the two but he didn't love it. It was quite greasy and the lamb was on the gamey side. My chicken shashlik had definitely been near charcoal too long; it had an overly-charred, unpleasant chemical-y taste. The accompanying rice had so much butter or oil in it that it was greasy, too, and although that imparted more flavor into it, I felt gross after a couple of bites. Everything was cooked well, just the flavors really didn't quite come together for us on this visit. It's hard for me to believe, given the average outstanding reviews and consistent praise this place gets, that our experience was an average one. Perhaps we just came on an off day or ordered the wrong things for our palates, since we're fairly unfamiliar with this cuisine. I would be willing to try again some day, but sadly our first visit didn't quite wow the way we'd hoped it would. I appreciate the clean and pretty environment and quickly prepared food!

I can't speak to the authenticity of the Turkish cuisine here, but I can speak to the food quality. Starting off is a beautiful focaccia loaf with a mix of light spices and olive oil. It's odd to say bread is relaxing and refreshing but here it is. The hummus is quite the same, lightly spiced but bright and refreshing. The ezme is interesting. To me it resembles a Turkish version of chips and salsa, very tomato forward but lightly spiced. Only complaint of the meal for me was the lamb kabobs. I am notorious for over seasoning things, and that is simply how my palette is. The lamb was cooked perfectly, not dried out and moist, however I would've liked a little more seasoning. The Billur kabob has been a repeat favorite of mine over the years. The combination of sautéed eggplant, pashamal sauce and onions/peppers/mushrooms creates an explosion of varying textures and tastes. Everything sort of melds together perfectly once it's cooked on the stone oven and becomes a cohesive entree better than the sum of its parts. The servers are always very attentive, respectful and knowledgeable about the menu. When I first started coming here they always had fantastic recommendations. All in all this has been and continues to be a delicious meal no matter what I have ordered here.

This was one of our first stops. What a fun unassuming place. Walking in on a Saturday about 11 am there was a line in front, a line at the butcher and a line at the bakery. We oogled the aisles at the assortment of offerings and their very good prices. My son then started complaining about being hungry so we decided to return later. As I was leaving we said goodbye to the cashier. He asked if anything was wrong. I replied, no just have to feed my son. He nodded and we were off. 1/2 hour later we were back. This time no line. I asked about the lines. He stated it is normal but it does go fast. I can witness to that. I bought some bread and some sambusas (sp). 1 chicken, had a nice spice but the vegetable blew me away!!! So incredibly tasting I did not feel guilty it being a deep fried pie. We talked to the cashier about the bread. He asked if I went back to the bakery to see what was the freshest. I said I will be right back. I was and bought a few more packages. AMAZING and OMGosh, what a treat watching the bakers make the bread. Makes one wonder how far we have come to want to go back and see how much better authentic bread should and is still made. Should add, but I don't want to, they have a breakfast pizza with sausage in the am and it is limited. Oy...If you see me, get out of my way, I am not above cutting in line and paying you for it. Prices are very good, no dust, no questions on prices, everything clearly marked, (my pet peeve). How do you buy something not knowing the price? Chatted again with cashier about the store and our purchases. Really enjoyed our quick 2 trips in same day within 30 minutes of each other. Will be back for the amazing bread AND Vegetable Sambusas and sweet cashier. See pics of bread. HUGE bread - good for almost anything also made quick pizza for the kids who loved it. Soft yet had a nice chew to it a few days later. Stayed Fresh! I am in Carb heaven with the bakery and the cashier made the experience great too!

The restaurant is well established and doesn't rely on frills and gimmicks to attract their clientele. Lots of brown and neutrals dominate the aesthetic - cultural decor and an occasional tv can be spotted along the walls. All the kebabs are well seasoned and full of flavor. The meat is both crispy and juicy. The complimentary pita is served warm and is pillowy soft. Some of my favorite hidden gems on this menu are on the appetizer list. Don't skip over the chefs appetizer with creamy cheese, olives, herbs and ground walnuts! I also love the light but flavorful white bean soup with tomato broth and generous chunks of chicken.

They maintain an impressively enormous menu with just about every style of kabob on the planet! They also serve lamb shanks, gyros, and falafel among other options. The lamb is extraordinarily tender and pretty tasty, although the flavor isn't nearly as good as the best I've eaten in the Middle East. But I have unfairly high standards as a world traveler. The beef dishes are very good too, but again, not the best I've had. The service is fantastic with welcoming employees who make you feel right at home. House of Kabob is a worthy stop if you love Persian cuisine.
