Came here on a Sunday and boy that line was crazy. I didn't think it would be this busy on a Sunday but it was. There was a line to get in, about 20 mins, and when inside, it took maybe another 15-20 mins to sign in and pay. There was another 20 min wait to actually get pierced. Originally i went in for a smiley, but after eval, my "web" was too small. So i decided to get a nose piercing and septum repierced. We were called back to get pierced, he asked what made me come in today, and i told the piercer i originally came in for a smiley. He asked me to show him my "web" and he said i had plenty of space. So guess what! I went ahead with the smiley since the pricing was the same. I got my nose pierced, and my smiley. I left a happy camper. The smiley did not hurt at all! My nose piercing, def hurt more than my septum before. And guys, please don't forget to tip your piercer! read more

I was looking for a barbell stud earring made out of surgical steel. I don't like purchasing jewelry online, so Zebra was the place without a doubt. A really helpful woman took her time to show me a few styles. Found a nice pair with a screw back. It was at a fair price. Paid for them and was ready to wear. The gage was a bit bigger than other studs I have. She gave me a dab of lube and I slipped it on. The back easily screwed on. A sign of great workmanship. I walked in on Sunday to get my anti-tragus and a third lobe piercing and I have never had such a good experience at a piercing place before. I've been to multiple stores for various piercings, and I don't know if this is a shared experience, but I always felt like the people were pretty bitchy? Like they they were patronizing, short, and sort of snotty which is not great for a business that's about to stick literal needles into my body. This couldn't be further from the truth at Zebra- every person I talked to was kind and patient. I wish I asked your names, you were amazing!!! (You both had great eyebrows and one of you had a gold bridge piercing and I'm in love with you) They answered all my questions, used they/them pronouns until they knew what mine were, and were this super rare combo of being compassionate but efficient. Even though it was busy, I wasn't rushed by anyone and they took the time to check in with me to ensure the jewelry looked how I wanted. Once I confirmed the jewelry, I paid and only waited a few minutes before Manny called me back. He was warm and professional, made sure I was happy with placement and definitely ensured the process was as quick and painless as possible. Zebra Body Piercing in Berkeley is an OG spot for piercings, even since the HS days. It is street parking, I suggest parking a little farther and walking because it may be a bit hard to find parking on Telegraph, since it gets a bit busy most of the time. Come early and get in line before they open at 11:30 AM - it is first come, first serve. I came at 11:30 AM on a weekday thinking I was early, but a short line already started to form. Pricing for the piercing and jewelry was not too bad, they have many jewelry to choose from that will fit your budget/price range. Besides the wait, I believe it is an okay and inexpensive spot to get pierced. read more

If you come with a toddler, come as soon as they open otherwise wait times are long. My cousin recommended the other location but Berkeley was closer for me. I took my daughter here for to get her ears pierced. The gentlemen that did the piercing was great with her ( Manny I think that was his name) He was super nice, professional and knew exactly how to keep her calm. This place is very clean and everyone there is super friendly. The only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars is because we ended up overpaying for some earrings due to lack of communication by the gal that was showing us the jewelry. I wish they had made it more clear that the earring prices were as a single earring and not as a pair. But we know that now for our next visit. Definitely recommend this place.! read more

OVERALL: I've been coming to Zebra's for over 10 years now. I've had three piercings done here and gone with other friends and family to get their piercings here. I've also bought a ton of high quality jewelry here (they're one of the only shops around that carries actual high quality body jewelry). SPACE: The only thing I'm not a fan of is that the shop doesn't give off a welcoming vibe. It can feel intimidating. Every time I go there, I feel like I don't fit in. As someone who is nervous about piercings, this doesn't help. However, I continue to return because I appreciate the cleanliness precautions they take. SERVICE: On my most recent trip, the service was the friendliest it has ever been. The woman helping me pick jewelry was very nice, friendly, patient, and helpful. The piercer was also very friendly and gentle. They are taking a lot of precautions due to COVID and are being very careful when talking to customers and showing them jewelry. read more

They were friendly. Clean place, organized, I waited about 10 min. But $154 for a navel piercing, I feel like I got robbed. Only reason 3 stars is because on the board it says $40 for navel and when the receipt was written up it says $40 navel and $105 for labor. For only 3 minutes getting pierced, geez i might start learning how to do body piercings, might be my new career. Anyways I'm sure it's quality and won't get infected. We stopped in to get nose piercings & a rook! There was a short wait time of about 10-15 minutes which we really appreciated especially for a busy weekend. I took my daughter to get her ears pierced for the first time. Outside, a bouncer told us it would be a 15 minute wait. So we stood in a line outside for about 25 minutes and then we were allowed in to talk to a cashier. My daughter chose her jewelry and we signed the forms. At the time, we turned down the numbing cream because we'd have to wait 30 minutes for it to kick in. Then we were sent down to the cash register where we paid $200(!) for the simple titanium studs and piercing. THEN we were told there was a 90 minute wait to actually be pierced. (So then we paid for the numbing cream, an additional $20). The bouncer or the cashier definitely had ample opportunity to mention that the entire process was 2+ hours. But, I didn't actually mind the wait that much, what irritated me enough to leave one star was that they wouldn't let us use the bathroom! You can't have a business that people are expected to wait at for two hours and thirty minutes and not provide a bathroom. Between the insanely inflated costs, poor communication about waits, and the indecency around bathroom access, I can only conclude this business does not care about the customers at all. I walked in for a spontaneous helix piercing with my friend on a Saturday afternoon. The process was really easy and organized. We were helped out, chose our jewelry, paid, and waited for our number to be called in. It wasn't busy around 4:30 pm; Our wait was only 5-10 minutes. David was our piercer and was super friendly and thorough. We watched him sanitize his work surface and materials. He marked the location of the piercing and was really patient with us confirming the area. All we had to do was breathe in and out and he was already done! They also offer to downsize your jewelry length for $10 after a few weeks. Everything went smoothly and I'm so happy with my new helix! read more

the piercers know what they're doing and they're not careless, they are actually really nice and gentle. I've gotten so many piercings from them and I never got a problem. It is a little pricey tho especially the jewelries. I recommend bringing your own jewellery that is preferably titanium that has flat back if you are getting your ears pierced so you don't have to pay for their expensive jewellery when getting pierced. They can pierce u using your jewelry but they have to check the jewelry that you'll be bringing first if its safe read more

Nice piercers, and great hospitality but I severely doubt how reputable they are. I got my tongue pierced here and it started sinking. The first couple weeks or so that should be normal. But not after four months with a perfect fitted bar. Everybody's bodies are different so I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt when they said it would stop in a couple weeks. I went to a diff parlor and the piercers asked me if I requested to be pierced with a thicker bar. I did not. They informed me I was pierced at a 12g... the standard size is 14. On top of that it's pierced too deep, slightly off center, and the balls are too heavy causing it to weigh in on my tongue :( I was advised to take it out and get it redone because it was pierced in all the wrong ways. I am going to try downsizing the gauge with a longer bar, it's not guaranteed that it's even going to heal :/ Super bummed out I wasted my money and went through one of the hardest healing processes ever just to possibly have to do it all over again read more

We took our 6yr old daughter here to get her ears pierced for first time. She was pretty nervous but The staff were amazing. Super friendly, kind and made her feel so comfortable. I'm giving this this place one star because the staff here was externally boring and seemed bored I visit 1/13/20 and when I walked in you had some people working on fixing the couch and this young lady at the front desk was so dry! (Got my tongue pierced 15 years ago here never go anywhere but zebras) Her vibe did not make me want to get a piercing I was extremely bubbly with her explaining how I wanted to down size my ball and she seemed really disinterested in helping me just put everything on the counter for me to see but it was her personality and vibe -I'm in a tattoo shop where people get exiting things done to them self's and they made me feel like o was walking into a supermarket no enthusiasm no spunk no nothing just not friendly Soon some girls walk in that she knew and omg her personally just changed "omg hi!!!!!!! " have them hugs and seemed really happy to see these folks and I'm just wondering where Tf that energy was when I walked in and spent my $35 just to downsize my young ball The guy to sealed out the ball was better in personally then home girl but they all seemed like they didn't really "care" I thought to get my ears pierced but honestly after that experience I'm good!!
