Very friendly neighborhood spot with tons of regulars! This spot has been around foreverrr, but recently undergone new ownership, so the quality of the bagels aren't the same as what it used to be imo - they're still decent! The menu is pretty extensive and they have tons of other sandwich options, as well as your typical convenient store finds. The place opens bright and early at 6 am and gets pretty busy in the morning, but the service is thankfully quick. Everything is extremely affordable, unlike Manhattan prices. Some days the bagels are fluffier than others, so it's a bit inconsistent, but this place is still my go-to for a quick deli coffee and yummy bagels!

The bagels here are not bad! Nice crunch on the outside, good chewy flavor on the inside. A little hint of the sweetness, and this is a darn good bagel. I knock points for the mediocre sandwich. The guy behind the counter let me try the whitefish salad which tasted absolutely disgusting. Then I tried the tuna salad which while better, was overloaded with onions. I should not have ordered it because I ended up throwing away a decent bagel when I should have better thought this one out, rather than throwing it out. I recommend this bagel joint to others, but keep it on the breakfast side of things when looking for what to get with it.

The best on this block! Always busy, so we usually have to call ahead for a quicker pick-up. We get our breakfast sandwiches but never on a bagel (I know I know, they're called Zee BAGELS, we should probably try a bagel someday) and it hits the spot every time. Kinda hard to screw up a breakfast sandwich though, so their eggs are also nicely cooked and the entire thing cheesy to my satisfaction. Always get the double meat, because without it, it's quite a flattened breakfast sandwich. If I had to pick, definitely get the sausage egg and cheese - it's the sausage patty, not the links, phewww. Their breakfast platter is also ginormous! Those pancakes are the size of my face.

Great little bagel place! It was a bit to crowded for a small little place . But they have you in and out in a snap! They do have a sign 5 people allowed in at a time but ..... I ordered my lox cream cheese on a pumpernickel bagel, very good! My in-laws and husband had the tuna on everything they said was excellent. I definitely will return.

My go to bagel spot when I'm home now. Consistently good every time. Plain bagel w/ butter& jelly is my new jam. Tried an everything bagel w/ scallion cream cheese too (flavored cream cheese is more expensive). And the iced coffee hit the spot. I bet this place gets real busy in the morning, I don't usually stop by until 9-10am and there's been a line every time.

As far as the customer service goes I wish it was a bit better. The staff aren't the most pleasant. I do notice they speak more pleasantly to other customers that come in. Not sure if it's a culture thing or could they be discriminatory but it's a bit unsettling. Food: 3.8/5 I only order the poppy seed bagel and that's pretty tasty. Not to doughy although I do have them take out a good portion of the bread because I like it to be extremely thin. We wanted to try something different after having explored so many of the typical places in Manhattan and Shelsky's came highly recommended While I was expecting a long wait on a Saturday mid-morning, I was pleasantly surprised to find the establishment with only a few in line before us. Now, I was desperately seeking a very simple belly lox with schmear, but much to my dismay, they didn't have any more belly lox. I was heartbroken and had to figure out a plan B While I pondered, the family quickly ordered a Peter Shelsky, a Great Gatsby, and a Fancy Pants. I crumbled in my panic and jumped in with another Peter Shelsky. We also tried a small amount of whitefish salad and a beet/thyme salad The service was quick and we were able to grab two of the three small tables at the front to enjoy our fare. Soon we were digging in and from the immediate silence, I could tell everyone was enjoying their choices. The bagels were on the smaller side, denser with a firm crust. We did enjoy the bagels, but I could see how someone not familiar with this style may find them too "cardboard-y" I have to say, the pickled herring on the Peter Shelsky was fantastic, but was way too overpowering for the nova and sable. I actually regretted my choice and would order something more sunken next time. (Or get to the store earlier to beat the rush for the darn belly lox!) The beet salad was quite a nice balance to for the bagels adding a bit of brightness. The whitefish salad was solid - a hint of smoke and a creamy puree. Some who prefer a chunkier whitefish salad might find this less than satisfactory, but the flavors were great A cure store, friendly and patient staff, a great first exposure to Brooklyn for the boys. We'll be back (and we want belly lox!!)
