There have been a few hiccups (my appointment got canceled a few years back due to admin error so I showed up and was turned away and there was another instance where I felt I was being upsold for treatments that my insurance didn't cover and wouldn't need) but those are only a few instances. Most of the staff and doctors are friendly otherwise. I'm still here as a customer after almost a decade so they're doing things mostly right.

I have to say that I was sold with just those elements but the team won me over by "getting me." I have been to 3 dentists for a total of 8 visits including today and the 'story' of what's going on is quite long. When the dental assistant asked, she could tell it was going to be in-depth and got the Dr to allow me to (hopefully!) tell the story for the last time. In addition, the front desk was pure professionalism and very friendly. Those aspects are HARD to find all wrapped up in one place and I'm grateful for the friend who referred me here!

They no longer know who you are or have the same staff who care as much as the previous did. The drama between staff or unprofessionalism to clients is one of the many reasons I no longer come here. 5 yrs in as an out of pocket patient, Dr Jenna Swensen tossed me like trash from an appt booked 2…read moreweeks ago. tldr; don't go to Dr Swensen at Minnehaha Falls Family Dental for a prosthesis. I have a public speaking event in 2 days, as Swensen and her staff know. I'm already embarrassed. Context: 10/22, after 10 yrs of perfect fit & eating w it in, the 'flipper' my old dentist made broke. When it did, Minnehaha Falls Family Dental staff kindly booked me asap. A hygenist molded me for a new one. I bought 2, because unless you're 6, missing a front tooth ain't cute. Anyway, either the molds were off or the lab was off. None of them fit right. The initial attempt to fit 1 took around an hour. It was frustrating. I mentioned that my previous one hadn't needed adjustment, which might have started turning things sour, sorry to say. But it was an honest observation. Finally I said I'd wear it a while and see how it settled. It didn't. I had to go back for increasingly tense attempts to make it fit, which it was ultimately impossible to do, and then we started over, which meant another mold experience which, if you have a sensitive gag reflex, is an embarrassing, drooling, uncomfortable, messy experience. It also for me anyway leaves my jaws aching. The Dr did the 2nd mold herself, and it was a better fit, but still required extensive mods. These were done over 2 more office visits. This still puzzles me, as they all were cast directly from 3D molds of my mouth. How can they require actual hours of grinding down? It was a prolonged, unpleasant experience, and by the end I felt uncomfortable tension, as though I was being difficult on purpose. Due to that, and money issues, I didn't schedule to fit the 'backup' until the one I paid for shattered in my mouth 4/17. To make the appt I paid for the backup (they hadn't pursued me, perhaps to be kind after all the hassle) and thought I was also booking a cleaning. This time, no MN Nice for how it feels to have a gap in your smile. I was booked 2 weeks out. At the office, I learned there would be no cleaning. That was fine. The assistant offered me one later today, but I couldn't make it. I was polite. They were polite. Things seemed ok. It wasn't. I asked the Dr about fixing the old flippers, she said sure, depending how they broke. She asked how it had broken, I said while taking a bite. Her tone sounded a bit annoyed to me when she 'it's just for aesthetics', and I told her my previous one wasn't, and I couldn't get why this one wasn't built so a person can eat with friends. She began speaking softly in partial sentences w the assistant, in abbreviations. She put the new flipper in and it fit the same as the other: Ok on the sides. Too big on top and in front. She took a quick stab at grinding it, then suddenly left the room. All those hours in Dr Swensen's chair came to my mind. Hers too, I guess. She came back , and with a small laugh, told her assistant to get me a referral "only" (ie, she wasn't doing this) and a refund. The laugh really got me. I got up fast and asked about fixing any of the flippers for temporary use for my speaking event. She handed me the boxes of broken and ill fitting prosthetics, said "the referral would do..." and trailed off. It hit me she was refusing to even assist in a temporary fix, and that I would most likely be facing the room with my tooth still punched out. I saw to her, I was beneath her help. I tore off the bib and went right to the desk. There was a refund. There was no referral.

The level of quality, the matching/blending of teeth color, the vision for the optimum outcome and patient happiness is apparent in everything they do. I know it may sound odd, but when Alesia cleans my teeth, she does it so gently I have fallen asleep many times before! The related technology and "cutting edge" practices, the attention to detail, and the office staff in general are also pleasant and calm. Calmness is a helpful thing when people are thinking about having things done in their mouth. (Insert smiley face here)

I like to go extra times each year so I go three times a year for cleaning and then for my regular checks with Dr. Wang. David is an excellent hygienist who is super thorough and gentle and always does an awesome job making my teeth look and feel great. Dr. Wang is an excellent dentist, very friendly; I've had to have one filling replaced with him (it cracked years ago, and he finally convinced me to replace it) and although it did get/stay a little sensitive for a while now it's perfect. He was really good checking in with me every time and giving me tips on how to help with the sensitivity issues. The front staff is usually very friendly and helpful as well. I've been going here for a few years and only had one incident that I can remember where maybe somebody was having a bad day (hey it happens to all of us!) :) all in all I definitely recommend going here for your dental care needs.

After my long time family-friend dentist retired I was finally ready to go to someone more local…read more My husband was goading me into going somewhere more modern after her found Angell last year. I had to change insurance and check in with them a few times to make sure I was covered and after that scheduling has been smooth sailing. My teeth cleaning went well, the hygienist Debbie told me a lot about my mouth and teeth that no one ever mentioned to me. They then got me scheduled to fix a crack in one of my fillings the following week. That appointment also went well, it was the most comfortable dental work I've ever had done - I didn't feel a thing other than the novacaine injections which they even numbed beforehand. They have mentioned doing something like Invisalign due to my crowding which is something that has never been a concern of mine, I trust they're being honest since I have a little snaggletooth, never had braces and my teeth are indeed tight. Dr Steve gave me a rough estimate and run down of how their process works and it's probably something I'll return for when I have the funds since it will help my future self. They play HGTV in the lobby and most dental rooms which is a nice distraction! It's a big place for only two doctors.

I chose Forestview because they are close to where I live and are in my insurance network. I was impressed pretty much from the moment I walked in. the receptionist was very friendly and upbeat. The hygienist, Kim, was thorough and quick when taking the array of x-rays I needed, and worked with me as one or two of he plates were cutting a bit into my tongue. I also felt she was thorough and explained what was happening as she went on. The dentist himself, Dr. Andrew Kollath was thorough and also explanatory. He went over all the treatments I need in priority order, also explaining contingencies if certain things happen. As I need two teeth extracted, what really impressed me was he listed "do nothing once they are out" (as opposed to a bridge or implants) as on of my options. Previous dentists I have known would not have mentioned that. Overall I like this practice and am very glad I chose it.

The staff was very nice. However, my mother was scheduled for multiple appointments to treat an…read moreissue she was having. The doctor and staff were aware that we were working under a deadline to complete the treatment in time for a scheduled surgery that my mother had been waiting several months to have completed. The day before my mother's final treatment, 2 weeks before the scheduled surgery, the office called and said they could not treat my mother because they considered her a fall risk. I can understand their concern about my mother's condition, but they could have notified us of their concerns a week earlier at her last appointment. We had to cancel arrangements for transportation at a cost of $70 because of the short notice cancellation, and my mother's surgery may have to be postponed. This was ridiculously inconsiderate of the staff at Allen & Holm. And may cost my mother additional months of pain if her surgery is postponed. We will not be returning.
