These were not as expected. All the ingredients must have been just thrown on the griddle and mixed up. I guess all the ingredients were in there, but it was hard to tell. When you want a cheesesteak, you want to think there is cheese on it. We ordered three of their Bacon Steaks to take home. The place was so somber inside, we said we'd come back in 20 mins and pick up our order. It's obvious the owners are the only people running it, and they are far, far beyond retirement age. Fine if they want to spend their time doing that, but at least be friendly and make a good sandwich. These weren't that great at all, you'd do better at home. Three of them were $50 total. No one else there in the height of the lunch hours. Lesson learned. I don't want to be anymore mean, so I will say no more. read more

The bread was warm, the chicken and veggies were delicious. My brother ordered the Sally Special, from Sally herself. He asked for it spicy, but it wasn't all that spicy (to him). Came to zelias for the 1st time, I've seen this place for quite awhile and finally decided to stop in and give it a try. There was an elderly couple that was running the shop and they were the nicest people you could ever meet. We ordered a cheese steak and had a bag of Tim's chips and freshly baked homemade cookies and also got a drink. The Philly cheese steak was very good I really liked it and it tastes super good. I haven't had alot of cheese steaks to compare it too but it was super good and will go back again one day to grab another one. We were there for a factory training certificate in March 2025 and looking to get lunch other than classic junk food places around. Coincidentally found Zelia's on Sullivan rd. and tried the steak and cheese sub. It was so delicious and wanted to come back 2nd and the 3rd times... Highly recommend it. We heard about this establishment and the couple that own it on FB. After reading about the couple we knew we had to try it and support their local business. We couldn't be more happy we did. Sally and her husband are delightful and the cheesesteak was delicious. It is a true mom and pop shop and the service reflects the care they have for their customers. The only reason it is a 4 instead of 5 star is the ambiance. They opened 19 years ago and like many small establishments, haven't put capital investments into keeping things updated. Zelia's is a trip. It's run by an elderly couple who have a very unique charm. They are very friendly, but it can be a bit of an adventure ordering due to language barriers. Nevertheless, the food is great (I've had a few cheesesteaks from Zelia's). My biggest complaint from my last visit was Rush Limbaugh's voice on the overhead radio talking about how soccer should be banned from television because all of the youth soccer programs in the country were turning our kids into European lib-tards (his words, not mine). Also, they have these fun little pamphlets on the tables (see pic). All in all I'm giving Zelia's three stars because though the food is tasty, the experience could put one off (especially the Rush Limbaugh part). read more

After I ordered I could hear the clank of metal spatula on metal as the meat and onions were grilled; always a good sound for possibly a great cheese steak. You have to keep in mind that it's ran by two older folks, and the restaurant environment is nothing special at all, and it is slow to get your order since everything is cooked to order. However, the important thing is the food and it's delicious and flavorful. The sandwiches here beat the pants out of Bruchi's, or Subway, Jimmy John's. Take a few minutes when you're in the neighborhood and hungry to stop in for a sandwich, say hi to Sally taking your order, and enjoy it. Delicious. I stopped in around lunch time and to my surprise they were not busy ( which at that point kind of made me skeptical) but I was starving and had my mind made up on a cheese steak. I think after about 2-3 bites I inhaled the rest. One of the BEST cheese steaks I have ever had and I travel for a living so I get to experience a lot of restaurant food. Since that day I have returned and it was pretty much the same scenario except there were a few customers in when I revisited.
