    Chicken Vegetable
    Jennifer B.

My brother and I are trying to meet for lunch once a month. Today it was Zelia's. I have been wanting to try this place, for years. Today was the day. I ordered the Chicken Vegetable. The bread was warm, the chicken and veggies were delicious. My brother ordered the Sally Special, from Sally herself. He asked for it spicy, but it wasn't all that spicy (to him). We're happy we went and tried it out. My brother said the highlight was the fact that they have "The Best Root Beer" Buck 'n Opie's Old Fashioned Root Beer.

Came to zelias for the 1st time, I've seen this place for quite awhile and finally decided to stop in and give it a try. There was an elderly couple that was running the shop and they were the nicest people you could ever meet. We ordered a cheese steak and had a bag of Tim's chips and freshly baked homemade cookies and also got a drink. The Philly cheese steak was very good I really liked it and it tastes super good. I haven't had alot of cheese steaks to compare it too but it was super good and will go back again one day to grab another one. If you're going to be in the spokane valley area stop by zelias and try our their Philly cheese steak I'm telling you that you'll like how it tastes and you'll get to meet the friendliest elderly couple there so stop by and support their business.

I've been coming here ever since I moved to Spokane! It was the first good cheesesteak place I've found since moving from my home state! They are amazing people and make great food! Love that there's always a home made baked treat at the front to try! Today I got walnut and apple cake it was delicious and so moist! I wish more people would give this little spot a try!

Mom and pop, w great stripped down food, classic Americana. Had the sullivan, yes a cheesesteak but not overwhelmingly oily, good sandwich, and they have crazy soda flavors.

An amazing Philly cheesesteak with onions, garlic, and jalapeños? Yes please! I ordered the Sally Special with no mushrooms from Sally herself, and it was delicious!! I walked over here because I was working nearby and I'm so glad I did. Amazing service and food, and even the Dr Pepper was perfect! Great mix, ice cold, and a styrofoam cup -- you can't ask for anything more. Thank you Zelia's for a great lunch!

This little mom's and pops place is just that. An older couple husband and wife run it and they are doing a great job. The wife was as sweet and funny as could be and the husband cooked us some great sandwiches. If you haven't tried it I recommend it it highly.

A wonderful bit of awesomeness set out in the pamphlets on Zelia's tables.

Zelia's is a trip. It's run by an elderly couple who have a very unique charm. They are very friendly, but it can be a bit of an adventure ordering due to language barriers. Nevertheless, the food is great (I've had a few cheesesteaks from Zelia's). My biggest complaint from my last visit was Rush Limbaugh's voice on the overhead radio talking about how soccer should be banned from television because all of the youth soccer programs in the country were turning our kids into European lib-tards (his words, not mine). Also, they have these fun little pamphlets on the tables (see pic). All in all I'm giving Zelia's three stars because though the food is tasty, the experience could put one off (especially the Rush Limbaugh part).

Oooooooooh Zelia's!!!!! I always seem to overlook Zelia's when I'm in the neighborhood.... AND my wife isn't a huge fan of cheese steaks.... But on this special day not only did I remember Zelia's, but my wife also gav in!!! SO....As I previously mentioned my wife is not a big fan of cheese steaks, etc.... She LOVED her lunch! I did as well, but I always do here! For those that aren't famiiar, this is ran by a husband and wife team... day in and day out... bell to bell. so when it gets busy it can take a little longer to get your order... But trust me... it's WELL worth the wait! If your on a time crunch you can call your order in ahead of time. If you haven't eaten at Zelia's... You must!!!!

Absolutely awful. Cook bare-hand touching all the food and cooked sandwiches. Filthy, dirty run down place. Avoid at all costs.

My friend is into Philly Cheesesteaks and I wanted to try the veggie rice bowl. So at the ordering counter, there's a bell to ring for help or to ask questions. With that said, it's a DIY kiosk tablet that was pretty simple and user friendly. My friend got a traditional Philly Ribeye Cheesesteak with extra cheese and an order of cheese fries. I got the veggie rice bowl with all the veggies offered except for jalapenos. I choose 2 sauce options: soy aioli and gochujang. I also got a side order of fries. My veggie bowl arrived hot and steamy and had a pretty good flavor profile considering I chose 2 sauces. Rice to veggies was proportionate and the portion itself was worth the value too. If there's any suggestion, it would be to use a different rice or add a little water to it throughout the day as it's on the warmer so it doesn't dry out as fast. I'm a bit weird and like my veggies slightly undercooked and will ask for that next time. Overall, I enjoyed the veggie rice bowl. Now, the fries were amazing! Great crisp, tender inside, and best of all it had this texture I only come across sometimes. I tried to take a pic to capture what I mean. But ikyk! My friend, at first glance of his Philly, wondered where all the cheese was since he ordered extra cheese. Well, it's safe to say it was nicely folded into the meat because after taking a few bites, he said it really liked it and that it was definitely cheesy. He got 2 different cheeses and said next time he will order extra peppers. He also made mention of the bread used and how he liked it and that the bread used could make or break the sandwich. In the end, he wished he ordered another sandwich to-go for later lol. The cheese fries were SUPER CHEESY so if you're into that, definitely order it. There was only 1 gentleman working, cooking, and cleaning. I want to guess he was the owner. He was really friendly and helpful and cooked us up a great lunch. On a sidenote, bathrooms need a code and the women's was really clean.

Oh boy!! Before considering this establishment for breakfast I looked at the reviews. One review…read moresaid it was "hearty breakfast and lunch fare in a vintage diner with nostalgic decor". Said review could not be further from reality! Terry's is old and rundown, furniture is even older and on its last leg of life. Our food took quite some time to get to us after ordering but oddly enough this place was packed. Despite the old building and furniture we were very surprised to see how busy it was. It was a good mix of young and old but mostly senior age patrons. It felt like I had walked into my widowed 80 year old "Aunt Mary's" house. I don't know if I would recommend this place. The food was mediocre. Menu options were good and I rarely see meatloaf as a breakfast option so that's what I ordered. I kept an open mind when ordering. Waffle was over cooked and hard to eat so we left most of it. Polish sausage was over cooked and hard to chew so hubby didn't eat it all. Meat loaf was ok. Hashbrowns were pleasantly cooked to order. And my eggs were cooked to order. I will say that our waitress was nice, pleasant and friendly enough. It appeared they had local regulars which gave this place an even more humble quaint feel. The coffee cup was small but they topped you off frequently so I did not mind the size of the cup! And bonus, they had french vanilla creamer. Price of menu items was great and the senior and kids menu was very affordable.
