Oh boy!! Before considering this establishment for breakfast I looked at the reviews. One review said it was "hearty breakfast and lunch fare in a vintage diner with nostalgic decor". Said review could not be further from reality! Terry's is old and rundown, furniture is even older and on its last leg of life. Our food took quite some time to get to us after ordering but oddly enough this place was packed. Despite the old building and furniture we were very surprised to see how busy it was. It was a good mix of young and old but mostly senior age patrons. It felt like I had walked into my widowed 80 year old "Aunt Mary's" house. I don't know if I would recommend this place. The food was mediocre. Menu options were good and I rarely see meatloaf as a breakfast option so that's what I ordered. I kept an open mind when ordering. Waffle was over cooked and hard to eat so we left most of it. Polish sausage was over cooked and hard to chew so hubby didn't eat it all. Meat loaf was ok. Hashbrowns were pleasantly cooked to order. And my eggs were cooked to order. I will say that our waitress was nice, pleasant and friendly enough. It appeared they had local regulars which gave this place an even more humble quaint feel. The coffee cup was small but they topped you off frequently so I did not mind the size of the cup! And bonus, they had french vanilla creamer. Price of menu items was great and the senior and kids menu was very affordable. read more

It was close to a customer and had time so stopped for breakfast. I ordered the traditional breakfast which was 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast. The bacon was thick cut and there were 4 slices. The eggs were cooked good. There was too much hash browns for me. All in all, it was a nice place to get a quick bite. Service was great with them wanting to fill my drink cup when I only drank a third of it. It was like an old school diner type decor. read more

What a nice little place. I haven't been here for a while so we decided to treat ourselves to breakfast the other day. When we walked in we were instantly sat a table. It was a little busy but all the tables were clean and our waitress brought us water right away. I ended up ordering the Traditional which came with potatoes, 2 eggs, 4 sausage and 2 slices of toast. Everything was tasty, the eggs were tender, the sausage had great flavor, and the potatoes had nice crispness. The toast was also done perfectly without being doused in butter. My husband got the Miners scramble which basically came with everything topped with gravy and a side of toast. My husband said get this if you're hungry. Every city has one of those breakfast places, local people gather, eat, and drink coffee. Terry's makes you feel like you have been coming here for years, even though it's your first time in. Are people born to be waitresses? If so, CiCi was born to be a waitress, she was on it! I had a huge omelet, can't remember the name, but Ultimate Omelet or such. Lesser men may have failed, but I was not going to back down, never have, never will. The breakfast scrambles have always been good. However, last time I ordered hash browns and eggs with sausage patty. I normally don't complain but told the waitress that tasted horrible. She was awesome and brought me a pile of bacon. Same nasty taste. I can only surmise that the cook isn't cleaning his grill often enough. I suspect old rancid oil. read more

Really great food! Have been trying to come here for a long time and finally made it! They have a Meatloaf & Eggs breakfast, which sounds strange, and I was skeptical. But my friend, who is picky about meatloaf, assured me that it was really delicious. So, I took the leap and she was right! Big chunks of really great meatloaf, fluffy scrambled eggs (my way), generous amount of shredded hash browns, and a very nice fluffy biscuit for my toast choice. Terry's is one of the best hearty breakfast and lunch places in Spokane, and I hadn't visited it in several years, but one of my sons and I were in the area and he's always hungry. I know some people would complain about how old and dingy the building and insides are, but they are welcome to go anywhere else to pay up for a more stylish place. You go Terry's to grub out, and we did just that. I did their reuben with soup, and took half of it home. My son did their miner's scramble and even our waitress and other staff members were shocked that he finished it. I wasn't lol! Prices are higher now, but they are everywhere. I came here on a Sunday at around 11am and it was packed. Luckily I got a spot on the counter for a party of one with a view of the open kitchen and the workers cooking. This is an old school diner and is very homey. Everyone is so friendly and there are a lot of repeat customers where people know each other. It's seriously a non-stop operation; one of the employees even said, "This is a wild ride!". I was so impressed with how everything works in the back to get the food in a timely manner; it looks hectic but they make it work well. I ordered the country fried steak ($13) which was very crunchy on the outside and nice and thin on the inside. The gravy complemented the steak very well and the eggs were nicely cooked the way I wanted. I would've preferred the hash browns to be more crispy but it wasn't too bad, and they give a lot of them. If you haven't already read the other reviews, they give A LOT of food here and the portions are huge. I couldn't eat all the hash browns and I only ate a half of one slice of bread. You will definitely not leave hungry. I would love to try some of their other popular dishes like their omelettes or scrambles. read more

If you like your food hot. Stop here. It was hot, delicious and hearty. It was so good I forgot to take a picture. Service was great. They refill your drinks and check in with you. It's family friendly and home-like feel to it. It was not loud and relaxing. I did not feel rushed but I definitely rushed my meal. read more

My boyfriend and I were originally going to Cottage Cafe, unfortunately when we arrived it was PACKED, and it was barely 8:30 in the morning. Anyways, we past Terry's on the way and it wasn't as packed. We decided to double back and try Terry's for the first time and we were not disappointed. We didn't have to wait and chose a seat right as we got there. The service was very fast and our food came out quickly and was hot. The service was great. I ordered a Denver omelette with white toast and a side of sausage gravy. Everything was so good and flavorful. I would definitely recommend this place for a breakfast spot. This place has been on our need to try for a long time. Would have gone sooner but every time we drove by it was do busy. This little gem offers breakfast and lunch up to 2pm. They remodeled in 2020 and spruced up the place. The inside is larger than it appears and they also have a cute covered patio. Let's talk food.. the reason they get such high ratings is because the food is really good. Big portions. Good prices. My husband had the taco omelet with hash browns and he said the flavor profile was great. I had the prime rib dip sandwich and ohhhhhhhhhh my it was soooooooo good. It did come open faced but it was loaded with sautéed mushrooms and onions topped with lots of cheese. Did I say yummy. The staff was so friendly... I mean all the staff was friendly. A cute tidbit... they keep a basket of reader glasses available for its customers just incase someone needs a little help reading the menu... never seen that before.
