Dr.Hatami is a very skilled and professional dentist. During my recent visit, he did two crowns with fillings, and I truly believe he and his team are very knowledgeable and experienced. I would like to share one part of my experience honestly, in the hope that it helps improve communication for future patients. I had a personal preference to preserve the outside shape of my tooth and only have shaping done inside before placing the crown. Unfortunately, I didn't clearly discuss this beforehand, and because it was late, more of the tooth had to be shaved than I expected. I felt quite emotional at that moment and became upset. I really appreciated the kindness and support from his technician Diego, who took the time to comfort me and reassure me that the crown would be done well. That meant a lot to me. Overall, I trust the quality of their work and know they aim for the best results. This experience reminded me how important clear communication is, and I believe the team genuinely cares about their patients. Doctor was professional and straight forward which I prefer. They looked into my concerns without brushing them off and gave a calm explanation of what's possibly going on. They also gave me a few suggestions that made sense and didn't pressure me into anything. The nurse that prepped me was nice too and helped me relax a bit. My wife scheduled an appointment with a specific dentist from our insurance network. I personally called the clinic to confirm that she would be seen by that dentist, and they assured me that she would. When she arrived, no one clearly explained what was going to happen. She was taken in right away for a cleaning, X-rays, and an exam -- all performed by different staff members she never agreed to see. Patients have the right to know who will be treating them and to give informed consent before any procedure. This experience felt deceptive and disrespectful. We will not be coming back. read more

I had been avoiding getting my wisdom teeth extracted until the pain was literally traveling up and down to my ear with accompanying TMJ issues. I asked a bunch of friends about their wisdom teeth extraction experiences, and one friend remarked how she had essentially recovered right away, and found Dr. Wayland this way! Yay word of mouth. SoShan and the staff are so calming and took time to explain the procedure. Depending upon the dentist that you get, services could be a hit or miss, however, kudos to the dental hygienists they have been excellent--all of them! The last dentist I had was running late, cranky, and walked away when she was done and did not advise me if I had cavities or not... I had to ask the dental hygienist. The office at the front lobby is a sales office pushing dental procedures that the dentist recommends/cleanings. After saying no a couple times, the salesperson continues to push those optional dental procedures at the front lobby, in front of other patients violating privacy issues. This has happened to me twice when someone else is in the office with the other salesperson. I find this very unprofessional. I get turned off by pushy salespeople. I gave them three stars only for the dental hygienist who have been excellent! read more

A warning to future / current patients. Dr. Hatami always seems to be in a rush and his assistant Diego does more than he is supposed to. He pointed out "air bubbles" in the filling and proceeded to use the drill on my teeth. He actually caused enough damage for my bite to be altered. I got my extra tooth removed three days ago by Dr. John Wayland and Dr. Wayland did an excellent job!!! Front desk ladies, both Shaoshan and Lisa, helped answer all my questions patiently before and after the surgery. This was not the first time visiting the office and I am the kind of patient that always got many questions to ask and they always! always! answered my questions with all their patience. Before deciding to get my tooth removed with them, I was quite concerned about the expense because I heard that some dental offices had cases that they told their patients it would cost $x amount, but it turned out that the actual cost was much higher than the estimation. So I asked them for a detailed list, and they provided me one and explained to me what would be the worst case scenario that I may pay out of pocket. After going over the list and looking up reviews online about Dr. Wayland, I decided to get my tooth removed with them. On the surgery day, I was nervous but Shaoshan really took care of me and made sure I felt more relaxed. She explained to my escort what needed to pay attention to after surgery and made sure the escort understand and not forget. Couple days after the surgery (yesterday), I thought I would need a syringe to rinse the hole, and since I couldn't find it at drug stores, I called to see if they could provide me one. Lisa answered the phone and responsibly scheduled an appointment for this early morning to have Dr. Vuong take a look at the wound to see if I really needed one, so it turned out that the wound healed very well and I didn't need one. It really impressed me how responsible Shaoshan and Lisa are. You can feel that they really care about you and try to figure out the best way for you. Thank you again! read more

It's almost like a parody if you want to get MEDICALLY RELATED questions answered. "What should I get done first, from a medical stand-point?" "Oh you can split your payments in this way." It's like trusting your future health (the goal for all of us should be to keep our biological teeth for the rest of our lives, so these are no minor medical issues) to a snake-oil salesman. TERRIBLE medical advice, really good at squeezing and making claims of 'necessary' x-rays, cleanings, treatments and regular check-ups, poorly aligned with actual scientific evidence (and don't go on what other dentists do, bandwagon effect). read more

I usually HATE the dentist so it takes a lot for me to write this review. Monday night I started feeling so much pain on my top left wisdom tooth. It was sticking out so bad it kept cutting/biting my cheek which created horrible ulcers that were incredibly painful. Just my luck it was Fourth of July the next day and nothing was open. I made an appt at another dental place in Sunnyvale who claimed they do emergency wisdom extractions. I left that place so uncomfortable & defeated. I had so badly needed this removed & I have an important out of town trip next weekend. My husband found this place at 4:45pm. They said they could take us in at 5pm. They close at 6. We rush over there & ended up coming right before Dr. Hatami was about to leave. He checked me and asked "you want it out today?" The RELIEF I felt was so big I almost wanted to cry. He was so kind and funny. He said "I was about to head out the door" i said "I'm so sorry!" Thinking I was an inconvenience like other dentists make me feel. He laughed and replied "don't be sorry! I love what I do!" The procedure took no less than 10 minutes. He was SO gentle and it was a pleasant experience. The front desk ladies and the manager explained things SO well and transparent. I am Coming back again to follow up & go forward with extracting my other teeth soon which will be much more difficult but I feel at ease now that I found a dental place that checks every box. I'm so relieved to find this place & now I don't have to dread / avoid going to the dentist :) thank you Dr.Hatami and the team for taking us in so last minute and treating us so well!! read more

I am LESS than impressed with this place. I came in in January and completed new patient paperwork and they put me on a plan to fix my teeth. They cleaned my teeth and it was over a 2.5 hour appointment. Fast forward to today, February, I come back and check in at the front desk. The lady at the front desk proceeds to tell me they misplaced my patient forms and I would need to redo them. Like, ok, that had my SS number on it. How do you misplace my forms? My appointment was at 12, it's now 12:30 and I have yet to be seen. The actual dentist are friendly and do their job but the front desk needs to get their act together. Im probably never coming back here after I get these cavities filled. Such a joke. read more

I had a terrible experience today with DentalZone Mountain View. My appointment with was canceled 20 mins ahead of scheduled time due to the unprofessional receptionist. She didn't let me know what kind of referral I should provide before my visit today. The other aspect is that the endodontist refuses to accept me without a referral. I went to the Dental Zone for over two years and was always in great hands. Shaoshan as the office Manager always went through every detail of my bill and answered all of my questions. Maria at the front desk was always kind and sweet and they all knew me by name. I like that type of environment. In regards to the Dentists, they also were very caring of my health and had a well laid out plan for my horrible teeth. Most people fear the dentist but I was never worried as they did everything to make sure I was in comfort. Not only that, I had a few emergencies of which they handled very quickly. I had two root canals and they were the most painless procedures I've ever had - not what I remember from my first two at my ex-dentist. Overall, I recommend them as an all-around dentist that puts the patients at ease and goes to that extra length to take care of them. I was impressed and others are welcome to their opinions but I recommend them to anyone. I went through a few dentists at Dental Zone. Dr Hitami said he needed to replace a filling, I trusted him and let him do it. Once he replaced it, my new filling has never been the same and still has been sensitive to this day. This is over a year ago. Dr Voung keeps on assisting I pay for a night guard even though she saw no evidence I needed on. I told her sometimes I clench my teeth during the day, she immediately says you must grind your teeth at night. I'll put in for a night guard. Since then, they always bug me about a night guard at every visit. Hopefully, Omar the assistant is now gone. He did my tooth cleaning in record time, 60 seconds. Floss two tooth and polished one. Wow.. I came here for the convenience of being close to work. I would rather sit on 101 traffic in the afternoon then come back to this place. read more

What a phenomenal dentistry. This was my second visit after a routine inspection and panoramic xray. I returned several months later due to scheduling conflicts and laziness but finally decided to get my four impacted wisdom teeth out. They're open on Saturday so scheduling was a breeze. I came in the day before to take vitals which took all of 5 minutes. I even asked to have my teeth cleaned before the extraction and they said it would be fine and to come in a little earlier. I picked up my meds from Kaiser for the next day and came in. Check in is always easy if they have your info, and if they don't then taking a picture of your details using their iPad is equally simple. I had my teeth cleaned by my wonderful doctor. Then Dr Wayland came to explain the entire procedure and give me some sedatives and asked me to relax and go on Facebook. After about 30 minutes we were ready to roll. He gave me the IV himself, one of the most painless I've ever gotten, and began the procedure. The next thing I remember is being done and waking up along with saying a bunch of ridiculous things. I was taken home by my parents as you need a ride (Im 24) and am healing as I write this review. About 15 minutes to 10 pm, I receive a call on my phone. Its Dr Wayland checking up on me! We chat for a few minutes and he tells me what to expect for the next few days. I knew he was nice, but calling your patient on a saturday night is something ill never forget. Thank you Dr Wayland. You are a phenomenal doctor and I'm so lucky that you were the one to take car of my 4 impacted third molars. I was slightly uneasy going into this but after you explained it to me, I was 100% at ease. Thank you! read more

I had a terrible experience here. My first visit had to be rescheduled due to the receptionist entering an incorrect insurance provider. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and returned a week later. At my rescheduled appointment my normal preventative cleaning took 2.5 hours!! The doctor appeared to be trying to scam me. She took x-rays and attempted to tell me I had 6 cavities when the X-rays showed nothing! She then was trying to upsell by asking if I wanted my wisdom teeth removed. My wisdom teeth have been in for years! Then they asked if I wanted reconstructive dentistry to fix my already straight teeth. I will not be going back to this dentist. They tried to tell me that I probably neglected my teeth during my recent move and that was why I had cavities?!? Were they assuming I was to busy to brush my teeth?! WTF I mailed my X-rays to a family dental hygienist for a second opinion. Oh and I didn't even get a free tooth brush after this visit!! Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. read more

After a week, I called the office and followed up. They promised that Dr. Vuong will take a look at it and get back to me later. It's been about two months. No follow ups have happened. The receptionist there was not prompt and I felt he was disrespectful of patients' time. Does he not realize that people take time off from work to make a dental appointment? He made silly jokes, worked through the payment at a snails pace. After about ten minutes of nonsense from the receptionist I said, "So are we done here?"
