On the other hand, things got weird when it was time to pay. I didn't appreciate feeling pressured when they tried to tell me that a 30% tip was the standard. I gave them 20%, which I felt was a good tip and standard for a good job. I was also pressured into writing both a Yelp and Google review, leaving them 5 stars as they hovered over me. The first time, I had to move from Union City to a storage facility in Elk Grove and this past weekend we had two teams going, one from San Jose to Elk Grove and the other from the storage facility to our new home. They handled and wrapped items with care and made you feel at ease that everything was going to be safe and secure. They disassembled furniture as needed and reassembled it on site. One great detail, they laid down plastic protectors everywhere to keep things clean and tidy where they would be stepping. Life happened and they responded swiftly and for same day service. I was beyond grateful. My move was from a 650sqft apartment, 90% items boxed and ready, no heavy items except one cal long mattress, and o did ask for the closet l (very small) to be boxed with the wardrobe boxes they provided. The new location was 2.4 miles away. PROS: *Timely responses via Yelp * Reasonable price (especially if you pay cash $109/hr with 3hr minimum). *This price included two movers and they arrived promptly at 3 pm. *Brought their own moving truck and all the supplies * I was compensated for the mishandling of my expensive plants. CONS: * Prolonging the service to get more money. The movers had dollys and started only moving one box at a time. * Careless about your items. I had expensive plants that were smashed, ripped, and taken apart. * Moving boxes were not taped at the bottom causing items to fall out. I would have recommended the company had they tried to not gaslight me. I take great care and detail in moving as I've done it countless times. The movers changed around my boxes and then didn't tape them causing me to have items smashed and destroyed. The movers tried putting blame on me. I didn't appreciate that the intentionally went slower so that I would have to pay more for their services.

They provided an estimate with an upper maximum limit that we were comfortable with. Arrangements were made via email and over the phone, and the office staff were always courteous and responsive. We needed to get the things moved within a few weeks and they were willing and able to come based on our schedule. The team of four were on time and they were incredibly agile and strong. On moving day we received text updates on their arrival time. The team communicated and worked well with each other. They were fastidious about keeping track of their time, which we appreciated. For example, they stopped for lunch and deducted their time from the total. The movers were extremely careful and I was amazed at how efficient they were. They wrapped and boxed up items carefully so that nothing would be damaged. I was impressed watching them in action. A piano and pool table were included in the move and they had to navigate a few steps for these heavy items. Lots of heavy woodworking equipment was also moved and they placed it in the destination workshop in an organized fashion.
