I have been going to Zen Nail for years and they have consistently provided outstanding service every time, while adhering to strict cleanliness standards (they use disposable nail files, nail buffs, foot filing pads, etc.). Sunny is an absolute sweetheart - she makes you feel pampered and is very detail oriented in her work. I have been here many times on my own but my friend and I went here today for no-chip manis and pedis. My toes looked rough beforehand and now they look great! They took great care of us and sent us home with complimentary tubes of lotion. A couple minor downsides: there are no massage chairs and sometimes I feel like they can be a little rough positioning my foot or hand for polish. But regardless, I will keep going back. An hour job for a pedicure plus extra for drying time. Decided to pay a visit since I was in the area. I did a walk in on a Tuesday evening and they were able to take me in. The man who looked like owner (possibly manager?) was super nice and greeted me personally. He also checked in every now and then to make sure things are going well. He also asked if I wanted something to drink. The massage was the best part! Would've given 3 stars but the hand massage during pedicure reeeeally made it up! She really dug through my calf muscles, toes, and foot. It may sound gross but it felt so good! Haven't had a massage like that in... ever! Maybe it's because I closed my eyes and was so relaxed on the sofa. However,... I have short legs so the putting on polish process was quite tiring (so brutal towards the end) for me as I couldn't adjust the chair, like typical massage chairs at other salons. I haven't gone to pedicure quite some time because in my last experience, the lady cut my nails so short and it was quite a traumatic experience for me. So I waited for my toenails to grow. But,... this lady also cut my nails so short again! When she filed, I felt like she was filing my inner skin. The color station is neat and organized. I get overwhelmed with choices easily but since similar colors were near each other, it was easy for me to pick a color. My manicurist made a mistake in putting on wrong color on my toenails but it partially wasn't her fault because someone else took the nail polish away. They were very busy on a Friday and I didn't have an appointment. The owner however took me in and did my nails. I was between two colors and she said that one was more popular the other but she was going to let me see both on my hand so I can decide which one I wanted for myself. In no time, she was done and I was ready to head out. She said to come back if anything chips or I need a touch up. Last time I was here my nails lasted for very long time they have new and good quality nail polishes that stay on for long time. Went there last Friday to get my nails done. Gel polish mail last 1 day. I felt like they were trying to do it in a rush.

I was so disappointed in this salon. I initially called the salon in hopes they could repair a nail I had just broken. I throughly explained how I had just gotten my nails done less than a week ago, and the only service I would need to have provided would be a repair of my thumb nail. The receptionist assured me that they would be able to fix the thumb and I was convinced to come in. Upon arrival, I explained my situation once more and she told me that they would have to do "silk" and put a tip on, which was fine if it was just that nail. She thankfully was able to find the same nail polish color and I was really excited because I was beginning to have really high hopes. As soon as she sat me down, I knew I made a huge mistake. My normal nail lady does a thin acrylic overlay over my nails for extra strength, and they so clearly did not know how to properly treat me. The women began to PICK at my nails with tweezers, dousing me with rubbing alcohol, and burning my nails with an electric file that looked as if it hadn't been used in years. If they did not know how to fix my nails, they should have said something from the start, instead of demolishing my nail beds and ruining my growth progress. In addition to that, the customer service was not great. The woman Initially helping me ending up leaving abruptly 5 mins into helping me without giving any explanation. She handed me off to an older woman who I'm assuming was supposed to finish the job. I had specifically said MULTIPLE times I only needed the ONE nail fixed. She shaved down the rest of my nails and took All the color off, even though I was getting the same exact color. The "silk" she did on my thumb is lumpy and has bubbles in it. When I asked her 4 times to keep the same stiletto shape, she ignored me. From the naked eye, I guess they look okay. But you can see the flaws and either way it is not right to ignore the customer. It was a series of unfortunate events that could've easily been fixed if there was communication. Instead I ended up with an even bigger mess with short round lumpy nails. They had the nerve to charge me 45$ for the same color and crappy silk overlay. I will not ever return to this location and I do not recommend them if you would like anything other than a basic manicure. read more

I have to downgrade my previous rating because much like the reviewer who posted a couple of weeks ago, I was treated like they were in a rush. I scheduled the appointment ahead of time and arrived a couple minutes early to pick the color. The manicurist rushed me to pick a color, rushed the shaping of my nails, did a poor job on the cuticles, did not do the hand massage (basically slapped on some lotion and patted the hot towel on them for 5 seconds which is not at all what usually happens) and didn't bother with the usual shoulder rub. She looked annoyed at the owner when she was told she was doing a manicure. I've never had this happen before but if I return, I wouldn't want to have a manicure with this particular manicurist. Note that they charge $5 extra to use the Essie long last polish which does not add any time or anything special to a manicure and that polish is about $1 more per bottle so it seems a little extreme. read more

So... my pedicure was pretty decent, but the atmosphere was less than friendly. Fine... I was tired... didn't really want to talk anyway. The person doing the pedicure cut me a couple times. Then put nail polish remover on it. Ouuuuucccccchhhh! Definitely didn't stop the bleeding. She was looking for something to clot it. Finally found it at the front desk. She was a nice girl. She was polite. She was sorry. She was just overall too rough with her tools. :'( Then I decided when I heard another customer say ouch! During her manicure I'd skip it. So I decided to try for eyebrow wax. I got one done. It looks ok. I asked for wax. Lady puts the wax in THREE areas and then used the same strip to wax each area. Then I was terrified to hear her pull out the thread. I freaked out and said no. Threading requires the tech to put the thread in her mouth which can spread disease/germs. So heck no I don't want thread. When I left, I had black shit all over my eyebrows. It was gross. Was the brush cheap? I am praying there was no double dipping happening since she basically reused strips and my face looked dirty when I got to my car. :( I'm disappointed and disgusted and won't be back. I still paid my bill and tipped, but I am hoping these employees can learn about cleanliness and customer satisfaction from my review. I'm sure these are nice people, maybe they had a bad day? Idk. I'm not paying $60 ever to not be your pretend best friend though. read more

I went back recently and my manicure was rushed as it was almost closing (so I get it but come one!) Can't believe all of the bad reviews here. This place is amazing! It's right across from where I work, so very easy to get an appointment on my lunch hour. They are very busy on the weekends, so an appointment is definitely necessary. I have gone during the week without one and they are very accommodating. It is very clean and neat - no harsh smells from chemicals like some salons. Very relaxing. You can enjoy the movies they run on their big TV (the only thing wrong is that they're usually finished before the end of the movie)! The nail technicians are all awesome - both the male and females. Attentive to details. The leg massages are nice, though the salt rub between toes can be harsh. They work quickly, and thoroughly. I have had no chips, and regular mani-pedis. All have been done well. No complaints. You DO have to bring cash for tips, but they accept major bankcards for payment. There is a point system that can add up to free services, or $$ off. They serve courtesy beverages. I have never seen them not cleaning the bowls after customers. Nasty, nasty, nasty. I went here for a mani pedi so I was there for 2 hours. I would see people get up from having a pedicure then shortly after a new person was sitting in the seat and I NEVER saw them clean the bowl. No smell of a cleaning supply...NOTHING. At first I thought, maybe I keep missing them, but 5 people had exchanged seats and not one bowl was cleaned. This is extremely alarming and disgusting! To allow people to soak in the dead skin of others is against the law and all kinds of rules enforced by state board are being broken here! I had two different techs: one for hands and one for feet. I didn't think to check before I left, but my pedicure was awful. I've been here three times to really give it a try. When I moved, this was the closest salon and they did a decent job on my eyebrows so I kept returning. However, I stopped going for a few reasons. Let me start with the good things about this place of business though. - The atmosphere is VERY nice. The place looks clean and gives you a sense of calm as soon as you walk in. - Eyebrow waxing/threading is REALLY good here. The lady can be friendly and talkative and she does a really great job at getting those brows tamed! :) The down sides: -Every time I've walked in, the technicians are usually busy (which means great business but also means waiting) but they don't smile or even address me. They simply stare at me...and then they look at each other (probably to figure out who can help me) and then go back to work. It's ok to not drop everything to help me, I understand that. However, I feel very uncomfortable walking in every time because I know I am going to have this staring match with each of the techs at first. It's really awkward. A simple "hello, someone will be right with you" would suffice. -There is a LOT of business here. Which is both good and bad. It's good because it means people trust this place but it also means waiting, so if you're in a rush...even for brows, expect a wait time of 8-15 minutes -The eyebrow lady is nice, but she can be a bit judgmental and focuses a lot on upping the sale and her tactic to do that is off putting. Her tactic is to point out what she identifies as "flaws" and then tell you that it's not attractive or unappealing so "let me wax that for you". I'm not too sensitive so it didn't really bother me necessarily but it made me think...how many women are walking out feeling unattractive based on comments like that? Women want to feel beautiful and getting mani's, pedi's, and waxes are some of the ways that we can do that but we don't like to feel shamed into buying new services. That happened to me the last two times I went and honestly...it annoyed me enough that I decided I didn't want to come back. I just don't really need that kind of energy in my life. :) lol Anyway, it's not the worst place whatsoever. it just takes energy (from me) to deal with their comments, lack of friendliness, and general uncomfortableness of the atmosphere. If you're in a pinch, come here but other than that.. find other services. Also, there prices are a little high. It's about $15.00 for an eyebrow wax. :( Again, not the worst...but for that price...I just expect a little more kindness. read more

*Warning: I may have a little rant below for all those rude and nasty pretentious customers!* First, this is one of the cheapest nail salons you'll find and they always have a promotion going on. They also have like a bonus system where they keep in file, so I think 10% of the amount you pay every visit is like a cash back and once you reach $15 you can use it as a discount. I love the atmosphere, the cleanliness, and the staff. It is WAY better than the old nail salon that was there before. First, the staff is very welcoming and even though most don't speak English, they are very nice to you and they don't really talk or yell at each other in their language like most salons I've been at. Second, they are really good. They clean my cuticles really well and it doesn't cause any of the skins pulling out. They accomodate every request I make, I had a matte black no chip with a gold french tip, they didn't have the exact gold I wanted but they made something else work and it was even better. Then, I got an off white no chip with a thin gold french tip and because the french tip was not a no chip color, it cracked after a week. So, they fixed it for FREE! Also, they take the no chip out properly! They soak cottonballs with alcohol and put a foil on your nail, not like other lazy places where they just pick it off with some tool which thins out my nail bed. Lastly, they offer water, tea, and juice when you get there. My only con is they get soooo busy if you don't set up an appointment it takes an hour or two to get in, but they ALWAYS try to take you in when they can. By the way, if you are one of those customers, who comes in without an appointment, see that they are busy with everybody and everyone has a client with, then you ask how long the wait but you want to get a mani and pedi right away and when they say a couple of minutes, you threaten to go take "YOUR" business somewhere else.. please GO! I feel bad for those people working so hard and doing everything to get every customer in to keep their good reputation but your whiny ignorant ass is too impatient and feel like you are so important, please go somewhere else and let these ladies and gents be there awesome self! All style and little substance. The staff was polite and the place looks great. The service was just missing something. My mani/pedi had a lackluster massage. Also, I did not receive a shoulder massage like the other patrons. They had a good color collection, but you would expect a bit more for the price. Also, their nail dryer was inadequate. You could barely feel the breeze. There also was no way lace for people to wait or sit. The supervisor kept greeting new people. It looked like her customer would never get her nails done. I've been to Zen multiple times. They are busy but when a salon is not busy I worry. They get new nail polishes which I like because sometimes I don't understand how some salons never get new nail polishes. Especially with the change in seasons. If they have new nail polishes at Ulta then I want the nail salon to give me new options. I've gotten no-chips and pedis multiple times. Sam did a good job last time. It lasted three weeks without it looking too thick. One time the technician said the color I picked was too thin and she put three coats and I was not in love. I'm going to say this. I've liked my nails 99% of the time and I always get compliments from my clients and my co-workers. My husband also likes how they do my nails here. He likes when I get them done and he will point out if they do a bad job. When they are busy---make an appt or come back... It's in a mall so theres things to look at while you wait. When it comes to manicures, I'm a VERY picky person. I look for a clean place, an excellent manicure and friendly service. Coming into zen lounge the staff is friendly and welcoming. They offer you a complimentary drink, they screen great movies and give you a massage after your manicure, not a lot of places offer that. They also gave me tips on my nails and offered a paraffin wax to help my skin and cuticles and I must say its a must every time.
