I love coming here. I've always had a positive experience. I tend to splurge and buy one of the more "fancy" pedicures and I feel like getting the extra treatment is worth every penny, especially when there are stressors in life. The music is peaceful and so is the atmosphere. The owner is also super sweet. I've had my pedicure done by many who work here, but I tend to ask for Ty when he's available. I love coming here! Every visit has me leaving with beautiful nails and hydrated cuticles. They offer a lot of options for pedicures and manicures. Every technician I have had, Triet, Tri, Annie are fabulous! It is tucked next to a Vons, but parking is always easy. I am able to call and easily make an appointment every time. Most recently came for my birthday nails and I was unsure if they could match the online photo, but as always, Annie did an amazing job!! I came to Zen Nail with 3 little girls. The ladies that did their nails were so sweet and patient with them! It was really special! My daughter was even given a little gift for her birthday! So why 3 stars? I was offered the delux mani pedi ($95), I thought sure why not, I wanted to be spoiled too! The lady that did my toe nails was amazing! So sweet and took her time! The man that did my nails was not so much! During my hand/arm massage, one arm got purple lotion, very nice, the other arm got cuticle oil or maybe massage oil. I'm not sure but they got two different things. And I'll attach a picture of my manicure. After putting the top coat on, he looked at them and then added another layer of polish and another layer of top coat to "fix" them. Also sat down and wanted a removal and new set of gel x... the male nail tech took out acrylic extension nails to PRY MY OLD SET OFF like dig under an edge that doesn't exist and rip. I had a little extra money this weekend and decided to treat my mom to a pedicure. I chose this place for 2 reasons, 1. We were going to be in SJC, and 2. It had great reviews. (Yes, reviews are definitely important!) From the moment we walked in we were greeted and seated. We didn't have an appointment but they prepared 2 chairs for us and sat is right away. The girls were attentive and super nice. We got the basic pedicure, no extras, nothing fancy. We picked our colors and let them go to work on our feetsies. The chairs are massage chairs, so that was an added bonus. They both did a great job. My mom and I were very happy with the results and we plan on returning again. What a vibe! Went in after asking for a quote on nails and toes, then immediately got hit with a bunch of upsells. I agreed to a few thinking "why not, treat yourself"... ended up spending over $150 for gel nails that all chipped in less than a week. I've had regular polish last longer. The young guy doing my nails also argued with me about wax being stuck in my ring after the paraffin treatment, insisting there was "nothing there" because he "has very good eyes." I literally had to get my ring professionally cleaned afterward. Yen was the only highlight -- super sweet and did a great job on my toes. They redid my nails after they chipped, and those chipped within days too, so clearly something is off with their products or application. Also felt really tacky getting hit with a "no tip?" comment while paying by card after I had already tipped Yen cash. Definitely not worth the price. read more

I almost don't want to tell you about this salon because it is a hidden gem that is a top quality and not very crowded. All their technicians are polite and skilled. The environment is very calm and peaceful. The owners are warm. I like that their colors are unique. I love neutrals and reds and browns and they have the largest selection. The nail technicians were absolutely amazing. They may be the best I've ever had after going to various salons in Dana Point for over 15 years. Called to see if they could do a poly dip when I was short on time. They said to come on in. Not only did the person doing my nails take a long time, but she talked on the phone, and did a bad job. The edge by my cuticle wasn't properly blended and caught on my hair and other things. It was also done very thick and lifted within a couple of weeks. I just got them filled somewhere else and when they were buffing the dip on many of the nails just crumbled off. I've never had that happen before. Oh and another client called during my appointment and mentioned her mother was in hospice. This would be the last time they would be able to come in. Instead of showing any empathy to the client on the call she was completely distracted. After they hung up she bragged about how she was the only one that could do her nails. I thought maybe the language barrier was the issue so tried to explain the situation. She seemed completely uninterested. This reaction to the call definitely confirmed the vibe here was not one I wanted to support. Edit: it was literally the person taking appointments on the phone and also looking at their personal phone. This review was not by mistake. read more

They ruined my toenails. Cut my toenails, completed at an angle on the sides, and then continued to paint like a 5-year-old was painting nails for the first time, nabbing and painting 3/4 of my nails. Then, I got the gel polish all over my skin, and it completely ruined my toenails. I will most likely get ingrown toenails, and they did not sanitize anything. To try and fix the situation, they just wanted to paint MY SKIN WITH GEL polish. I am incredibly disappointed and will never go back, as my toes are completely ruined. Would never recommend them. The pedicure was not good. She literally burned my legs with a too hot towel. The leg massage was lacking, she only rubbed back and forth, no massage. The nail polish finish is bumpy and rough. Second visit wasn't great. I told them I wanted pink gel for my set, and the guy started using a different color after she brought it over telling me it would look better on the grow out. It's not what I asked for and for him to just decide to change it when I am paying for my services was not ideal. The then he filled my nail in a crooked way. I was not happy with the turn out. The third time I went I was the only guest in the salon and it just felt like they were rushing through my services and were not very friendly.
