I woman giving the massage started out with oil even though I asked specifically for lotion. She did not understand English. The lotion---was cut with about 50% oil---so that was not very good either. She went so fast I could not enjoy the massage. I asked her to slow down---I demonstrated fast and slow---and she understood the concept. So, she would start out slower and then she would end up going very fast again. She was a nice person---but she clearly did not understand how to give a good massage. I do NOT recommend Zen Massage if you are a person who has had many good massages previously. One of only a couple of truly high-end, schooled strip-mall massage places I've found since moving to the area. I've been there 4 times and every time it's been the real thing. Strong, intuitive therapists who know how to get muscle tissue to unwind. Eva is who I had today and she was fantastic. There was a gentleman who worked in this location. I used to like how he did massages. That was several years ago. Since then, there has been a change. (I assume it is new ownership.) The place is more modern than I remembered before They do have a male masseur. I will call to see if he is available. I've been lucky that the days that I've called, he's had some availability. I typically ask for 90 minutes, if he has time. They have a great special right now for less than $100 for the massage and hot stones. He does pay attention to your feet, which I totally appreciate. He does a great job, but there are times when I can hear the exasperation, especially when he does the hot stones. I get it. They are hot! I think that I am going to tell him to skip that step. I don't really care for it all that much and he seems to not care for that. I really like that he's not too chatty. He doesn't even really ask if I am ok, as he is good at what he does. He reads body language; that shows skill. Clean and doesn't smell too perfumey, like some places. Legit. No upsells. read more

He was very lenient and nice. The masseuse did an amazing job. She was great, her technique worked really well and really helped my back pain. The only thing was they should make all massages 60 minutes (Mine was 50). the price difference is a bit weird considering it's a 10 minute difference. Other than that I highly recommend.
