I've been wanting to try this place for a while and am so glad I finally had the chance! It's not a hard snow cone exactly, but fluffy light shaved ice with creamy ice cream underneath. The syrups you can pick and choose from are all homemade - I can personally say the strawberry and banana were delicious. I also got the snow cap (sweetened condensed milk) and toasted coconut on top. My husband got the chocolatey special one with pretzels and caramel, which he devoured. The ice's are so delicious, they make all the syrups and ice cream in house. The macadamia ice cream is my favorite. This is SUCH a cool place!! Staff were unbelievably friendly, helpful, yet not rushing us to order. Everything is made in-house, including their ice cream, flavor syrups, and whipped cream...which I could eat a whole bowl of by itself! I even overheard a customer who had Celiac disease, and they took extra care to make sure not to cross-contaminate anything. This is amazing. Tried this when they were at the Easter festival in Westbrook, and was blown away. I can't have regular shaved ice because of the high fructose corn syrup, so this was awesome to see it's all natural. The staff was very helpful and accommodating when I was talking about my dietary needs, and my husband said when he bought my flavor they were very nice. They have very unique flavors, and if he had more hands he would've tried them too. The only downside is they are closed on our days off. Hopefully as things start to warm up they will be open more, because we both would be there all the time. Amazing and delicious!! Highly recommend read more

Really good it's honestly the best snow cone I've ever eaten. The mix of ice cream and snow cone makes a really weird texture but I still like it. I got the flavor mix of: mango, and guava with li-hing sprinkled on top. We had just gotten dumplings next door it was a wonderful place to get dessert. read more

What an absolute gem of a find on our second anniversary trip to Portland! Ever since my husband and I took our honeymoon to Hawaii and had the most fabulous shave ice, we have been on the hunt for a taste of it in New England. We had no luck, until we found Zephyr Ice. I wish I had a picture but we were too excited and ate it too quickly. The owner was very kind and knowledgeable and the shave ice made me feel like I was back in Hawaii. Everything is made in house from the ice cream to the syrups made with real fruit. We were going to switch up our next anniversary trip destination, but after finding this place we will surely need to go back again next year! Super nice folks that work here and the shaved ice is exactly what I have been hoping to find since visiting Hawaii a few years ago. We went with pineapple and passion fruit over macadamia nut ice cream - so good! Definitely check this place out. The shaved ice is light and fluffy so it doesn't make you feel full and sluggish; likely a welcome change after stuffing yourself in Portland over a couple days. Mind blowing. When I walked in and saw this place did shaved ice, I almost turned around to find a "real" ice cream shop. I am so glad I didn't. This treat has the creaminess of ice cream but with a light and airiness that makes it a textural delight.
