Man this place is expensive! But it's understandable, it is a ski resort. For a sandwich and fries you can easily spend over $20... My girlfriend ordered for us. She got a philly cheese steak sandwich and some fries, came out to $20. I really wanted a beer but I couldn't get myself to pay $10 for 1 beer. They have these awesome shaped glasses for jager bombs or any type of bomb. It's got two separate sections so you can keep the alcohol separate in one cup until you drink it. While your drink it the two drinks mix, pretty cool! Should have grabbed a few for our house haha. Overall not a bad place to get some food if you're really hungry. I for sure was. I'd definitely go here again. Has a nice view outside also and a station to fix up your board if you want to adjust bindings or something. read more

love this place. the guy who hands out tissues is so silly. last time i went he turned into a mannequin. the food is pricey, but i bring my own and just chill there and eat it. its a nice mid place to stop, not as crowded as the bottom or top lodges. for those who dont want to ride down, there is one gondola chair on the lift. read more

Pack a lunch. Don't eat here. Or at the mountain besides Starbucks. The costs to get the food items to the lodge is obviously paid for in the prices in food. We paid $66 for two 8 inch frozen pizzas, 2 life waters and a brownie. The customer service was awful as well. I watched three employees kick a couple off of the outside dining area at 1430 because they were closing at 1600. They were clearly distraught and the employees continued to badger the couple. Finally, a lodge that actually fits people! Before the Zephyr Lodge opened, eating was quite the task. Northstar is just gets way to busy and they can't comfortably accommodate everyone. If you've ever been to the Tamarack Lodge at Heavenly, this is almost a mirror of that, but...this one comes with an ahhhh-mazing view! There is lots of outdoor seating, and if the weather permits, sit outside! It's beautiful. They offer a variety of stuff to eat - pizzas, hamburgers, finger foods, salads...they even have an Asian corner! Definitely nice to switch things up after eating lots of fried food. They offer noodles, rice plates and soups. Very happy there is a spacious and breathtaking spot to relax and eat at Northstar now. read more

I'm giving it 2 stars because the views and nice and there was a person at the door handing out tissues, otherwise this would be one star. The food is not very good, and is wayyyy overpriced, even for ski lodge mountain food ($10 for a bowl of chili not even a bread bowl? $13 for a basic hamburger???). Now, I'm not picky nor do I have expensive taste in food, especially while skiing at northstar, but still, this is a pretty bad combination. However the worst part is the lines. The place is just not designed for serving more than maybe 15 people at a time, so when there's a hundred people trying to get food, the whole thing just shuts down. I've eaten here several times, so I've given it a fair trial. The food is just marginal. The pizza is not good. The burger is just OK. Even he Asian food was just OK and barely warm. The prices are ridiculous for the quality. I'd pay the resort prices if the food was really good. The best ski resort food at Tahoe is at Sugar Bowl. The have fresh pasta dishes, made to order salads, good burgers and the usual already prepared stuff on the Judah side. At the mid mountain lodge they have really good pizza etc. On the good side Zephyr has large, clean bathrooms, and the view is nice. It's usually pretty easy to find a place to sit. read more

I've been skiing at northstar all my life and finally got to try the new lodge! Looks wonderful from the outside and view is great. It was packed on a Saturday but always room to sit and we had a big group. big pet peeve of mine if we can't all sit together. We sat outside and had a wonderful view of the mountain. Food: very pricey, $50 for the two of us. That included two sandwhiches, chili fries, drink and snickers. Very pricey. All ski lodges are pricey these days so I didn't expect anything less. I was on vacation and didn't care. One thing that bothered me was they ran out of the pork belly sandwich..literally the the person standing in front of us had the last one. So upsetting! If they make so much money they should have enough, especially on weekends. The asian pulled pork was not that good but chili fries were delicious. Check it out and prepare to spend some $$ but it's worth to go at least once. read more

This place doesn't get five stars solely because it was $70 for four of us to get a small lunch. My grilled cheese sandwich with brisket and onion jam was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, and was worth the $14. The fries? Not so great, especially for $7. The view is spectacular and it was a lot of fun to hang out mid-mountain and grab some lunch before we went tubing. They had a sandwich/grill section, an asian section, and a pizza section. They also had lots of quick snacks, like grab-n-go drinks and chips/cookies/granola bars. Plenty of places to sit, too. read more

Pizza terrible, hamburger way over cooked. Ran out of chicken noodle soup twice before 2pm, bummer. Pepsi products. No ice tea.

What a killer ski lodge. Huge windows overlooking the Sierra crest had the brisket grilled cheese and a beer. Perfect break spot.

This is the newest lodge at Northstar. The food court has pretty good food and it has a salad bar. The food is a little pricey as all ski resort food is but a decent value for the money. My favorite place to eat is still the lodge at the top of the Comstock lift chair. read more

Our wedding at the Zephyr Lodge was above and beyond our wildest expectations of how wonderful of a day it would be! It was on our radar when we realized no matter how badly we wanted to have our wedding "in nature", mother nature doesn't always cooperate in the Sierras, so we scoped out the place in the winter time and the view was amazing. We initially thought it was too pricey, but once we crunched the numbers with other venues that are less inclusive, the cost was about the same- we ultimately chose Northstar so we could give our large East coast families the ability to all stay in houses together and close by. ( The *only* comment I have was the discounted lodging link/website was a little rough, it's wording didn't match the lodging descriptions on the Northstar website, and several guests had a hard time navigating/confidently booking the accommodation they wanted.) Brett was super responsive as an up front contact and handled the booking and logistics well, and Paula took it from there as our day-of contact and point of contact for planning. Paula was wonderful- she was responsive, followed up promptly with answers or documents, and if it wasn't for her, there are so many details I would have missed/not thought of, she really helped keep us on track. She also was right on point helping us meet the F&B minimum w/out going over. The day of was amazing- friends and family raved about the view, the fun gondola rides, and how pleasant the staff was- several guests brought kids unexpectedly, and Paula handled it with a smile (thank you Paula!) Staff brought my husband and I appetizers while we were taking pictures so we wouldn't miss out(or pass out!), the bartenders were friendly and engaging with our guests, everything went off without a hitch, and if there were any hitches, they handled it deftly. In summary: amazing venue for a ceremony with a spectacular view; the reception was a nonstop party and everyone of my 100ish guests felt taken care of personally; Paula is amazing, I hope if you choose Northstar you get to work with her; my husband and i could not have had a better day there! read more

Me and my buddy had a couple drinks at the Z bar while taking a break from a great snowboarding day. Our bartender justin from Alaska made the experience a great one. He seemed interested to conversate with us and we had a good time chatting with him about the cocktails, the mountain, and whatever. The drinks are way overpriced but what else would you expect from a bar at the top of North Star. Overall we had a lot of fun chilling at the z bar while we relaxed and took a break from snowboarding. read more

The Northstar Resort was the perfect location for our wedding. It's apparent from the second you pull up to the property the location is extremely beautiful and relaxing. The rooms are great; there is the convenience of the village restaurants, bars, shops, small food/beverage store, activities, and stunning scenery regardless of the season. We loved that our guests were able to stay in the village and not have to worry about how they were getting to and from events. We had a Welcome party in the Village Overlook, our wedding the next night at Zephyr Lodge and after party at the Tavern. We received many compliments from our guests about their experiences at Northstar, the venues chosen, and how great the food was at all 3 events (mac and cheese balls, pizza cones, and the mini grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup were a huge hit at the end of the night)! I don't think pictures can do Northstar justice. Once you ride the chair lifts to Zephyr Lodge at the top of the mountain and look out over the beautiful mountains you will fall in love, too! Another major plus is they assign an event coordinator to each wedding to help with details pertaining to the property, catering and vendor arrival and departure. Cara was our coordinator and she was amazing!! She was quick to respond to emails and phone calls, gave great recommendations, met with us every time we visited, and communicated with our vendors to make sure the weekend ran smoothly. The Northstar Resort speaks for itself in appearance, but Cara made the biggest impact on our experience at this location leading up to the wedding and throughout the wedding weekend. read more
